"I've got pictures of me doing this to my little man! Only now he wants to go back to the barbershop (much "cooler" than having mom cut your hair!) :)"

"So cute - you look darling in your apron! :) Plus the hair is good for birds building nests and keeps squirrels from digging in your plants!"

"Ha! I wear that apron so much that I forget I am even wearing it half the time :)
Yes, I guess I should enjoy these haircuts as long as I can. It saves us so much money. I had never really thought to do it outside until that night. Clean-up was SO much easier!"

"This is exactly what I do with #2! I've even been known to do his hair outside when it wasn't really warm enough to do so with no shirt on.... My oldest has to go to the barber shop because he has weird hair (VERY thick and VERY coarse with a strange 'cow-lick'). He likes going there though, because it's also where daddy goes!"

"What cute pictures! This post reminded me to tell you that you inspired me to start cutting my husbands hair in hopes of saving some money. With your inspiration and tips his haircut turned out great! We have already gotten our money's worth out of the clipper set we bought with his haircut and my daughter's bang trim. Thanks so much!"

"Heidi- Oh yes, line those kids up. :) I can cut hair like nobody's business :)
Joy- That is awesome that you are doing haircuts now. It is such a savings to be able to do those from home. I am so proud of you! I have been trimming my bangs and cutting the boys hair to help save us some bucks.
Heather- You are soooo right. It is such a savings. I had both the guys lined up that night!"

"Oh, Amy, if you're looking for ideas, a haircutting tutorial would be in order. I wrote a very bad post on how to cut baby's hair a long time ago and it still gets tons of hits! Now that my son is growing into a little man, I'm pretty clueless and would love the help, and I'm sure others would, too."

"My MIL would line up all her boys (six of them) outside and do this same things every 4 weeks all summer long."

":) Boys are easy to cut their hair. I have a little girl that hasn't had her hair cut since she was born. She's 3 but when we are ready to cut her hair, I don't think I'd do it. Well, maybe if it's just a small trim."

"How cute!! I cut my husbands hair and it really does save money. It is so nice when the weather is warm enough to do it outside. Do you cut Emily's hair? So far I've been afraid to cut my daughter's hair, though when it gets long enough I think I will give it a try. Any tips for girls would be greatly appreciated! :)"

"Steph- I actually haven't cut Emily's hair yet. She had one trim since she has been born (I think they charged me five bucks because it was just a quick nip at the ends). I think the best advice I could give a mom with a little girl is to let her bangs grow out. It was hard when she was little, but I am so thankful because I never have to take her in.
I am growing Emily's hair out for Locks of Love. She is almost there and then I will take her in to get a little bob cut. Her hair is really long and I want her to have a really nice donation when we finally do chop it.
I can definitely do a guy haircut tutorial though, but we will have to wait a month to let their hair grow out for that :)"

"I do that with all my boys, too! So much easier than having to clean up all the hair from the 3 of them off of my kitchen floor (although, with a blond, a brunette & a redhead it does make a nifty color pattern!). I remember, too, some movie (with Dennis Quaid, I think) where they were trying to get a decent baseball field going and used the hair from the barbershop to keep some sort of animal away from the grass. So I figure if I just leave the boys' hair outside, I'm saving my yard from some unwanted creatures!
I'm growing Katie's hair out for locks of love, too! Nice that the girls have no say so in the matter! Really, though, I do tell her that when her hair gets long enough that we'll go get it cut and give it to a little girl who doesn't have any hair. I think I will have to psyche myself out to actually have it done, though! Maybe we'll have to take Katie & Emily in together....I'll need some moral support!"

"Amy, That's a great idea growing Emily's hair to donate to locks of love. So far I've had my daughter's hair trimmed up twice because it seems to grow so much more quickly in the front, but I'm hoping now to be able to just let it go for awhile.
Take care,
Steph"
