On WSBT, this morning, we discussed ideas for cheap summer day trips. This is about the only way we do family trips anymore and I share my tips for getting the most bang for your buck.

It's only about 45 mintues away, so the trip wasn't long, but we spent several hours exploring campus and hunting down the "Jayhawks on Parade" that were placed around the town. (If you remember Cows on Parade or Teddy Bears on Parade, this was a similar thing.)
It was a really simple day, but I have such fond memories of it and I think they do too."
