We'd love to hear your suggestions for improvements or what you like about the site!
We love to give items away to our readers and try to host a weekly giveaway each Tuesday on The Motherloot. Our aim is to offer products and services that will make a mom’s life easier, that will offer some much needed pampering, or items that encourage family togetherness.
Our giveaways are highly promoted through a giveaway link exchange (hosted each Tuesday on The Motherload), on our Facebook page, and through tweets.
We do not charge a fee to host a giveaway; however, we are very selective about the products that are chosen because of the great amount of work that goes into hosting these giveaways. We want to spoil our moms with our giveaways and we will choose products that do just that!
If you would like to host a giveaway with MomAdvice, please send product information, a description of the item you would like to submit for consideration for a giveaway, and a link to your website.
We do not accept all submissions for giveaways and receive a large volume of requests to the website. As a mom of two busy children, I will not be able to respond to every email I receive, but will contact you if we are interested.
Reviews are not the main focus of our website, however, we do offer reviews of products, particularly around the holiday season, that may help families choose great gifts for their children. Much like the giveaways, we look for products that make a mom’s day easier, activities/toys/games that promote family togetherness or something that will offer pampering to a tired mom.
Most of the products that are featured for a review are budget-friendly. We do make an exception around the holidays so that we can pair these reviews with a fantastic giveaway. Any other time of the year, the focus will remain on budget-friendly products that make a mom’s life easier.
We do not charge fees for reviews; however, we do require one sample product to conduct the review which is non-returnable. We practice great disclosure and will always make it known within the review that we received this item to conduct our review.
Our reviews will always be heartfelt and honest. We will always be fair and, most likely, if your product is chosen for a feature it is because we know we are going to love it. There have been cases where that wasn’t true, but we have shared this information fairly with our critique of the product. To date, we have never received any negative feedback from a company on their experience working with MomAdvice.
I am a proud mom of a an elementary-aged son and daughter. My husband works in web design and I work on this site while working on my first book. My family embraces technology, gadgets, and games that promote togetherness, and products that can keep us organized.
I love to cook, knit, read, and take oodles of pictures of my family. I love products that pamper me and fashion on a budget. If you have a product that can help to keep me sane and organized, I would love to promote that too!
That is really sweet of you to ask. I really hate when companies call me because I am busy doing my mom job over here. Many times these calls are interrupting our family time or dinner hour. I promise to do my best to get back to you if I am interested in your product for a review or giveaway. Repeated emails are often not an effective avenue either. If it is something we feel passionately about, we promise to respond!
If we decide to review your product, we will send you an email with shipping information. If the product is unsolicited, we cannot guarantee a review. If we send you our shipping address though, we are looking forward to sharing more about it with our readers!
No, I do not accept any money for reviews or giveaways. There may be partnership opportunities with our ad network that I work on, but I promise to always disclose this. No giveaways or reviews will have any money exchanging hands. Our efforts are only to make a mom’s life easier with thoughtful reviews or spoil a mom with a great giveaway.
No, I really don’t, but thank you for thinking of me. Press releases do not qualify as a review or giveaway request for the site.
Do you travel to locations for travel reviews?
I work as a freelance travel writer and am always looking for great vacation options for families on a budget or destinations/resorts that cater to families. Products that cater to families that travel are always on our radar as great items to highlight particularly during peak travel times. As a mom, I do a limited amount of traveling during the school year, but love to share about family-friendly destinations on a budget in the summer months or for weekend trips. In full disclosure, my travel schedule does fill up quickly and with a busy family it is essential that you let us know about your opportunities early so our family can make the necessary arrangements.
Can I advertise on your site?
We would love to have you advertise on our site. We like to keep our site clean and clutter-free so we only offer two advertising spots on our site each month. The cost is $100 per week for a 125x125 banner placed on The Mother Loot. We could direct over 80,000 unique visitors over to your product or service. It is a very affordable way to advertise and get your product known by our audience. No worries if you do not have an advertising button. A designed button can be provided by our designer on staff for no additional fee. If you would like to secure one of these two spots, please go here.
What if I would like to hire you to represent my product?
I would be honored to hear more about your opportunity. I have worked as a spokesperson for Kenmore, Glade, Cheer, and Cascade. I have been through media training and have done segments for our local news company for over a year. I am familiar with all mediums of brand promotion including social media, building press materials, vlogging, blogging, radio interviews, satellite media tours, print interviews, and television interviews.
I also am available for freelance writing and have done work for brands like SC Johnson, Kellogg’s, Homewood Suites, and Scotts.
Please send details about the endorsement opportunity and I look forward to the opportunity to speak with you more!
What if I would like to have you out to my company’s headquarters?
I do a small amount of traveling to company headquarters and press trips, but my schedule does fill up very quickly. In respect of your time, please only send requests that fit with our site and audience.
