Giveaway Results: 75 Loaves of Sara Lee Bread

IMG_1285Sorry! This giveaway is now closed! We would like to congratulate our three winners- Commenter #66, #53, & #38 on winning this great giveaway from Sara Lee. Thank you so much and check back each Tuesday for a brand new contest!

I love when a visit to a company yields a fantastic giveaway for my readers and I think you guys are really going to appreciate how much this giveaway could help your grocery budget!

As a thank you for visiting their company, Sara Lee sent 25 coupons to me to use towards the purchase of 25 loaves of their bread. I can’t tell you how much that has helped keep our grocery budget low this month and free bread… well, it just tastes yummier! It was a lovely surprise that included a letter that said I could give 75 loaves away to my readers too!

Sara Lee is promoting whole grain nutrition and healthy eating for children! If you have any nutritional questions or if you are needing guidance on packing a school lunch, you can contact Sara Lee through their Facebook page. They have added all of the great recipes that they shared with us while we visited the facility and they have Chef Jill checking the site and sharing ideas daily so it is definitely a page worth peeking at.

This week, we will be giving away to THREE lucky winners coupons for 25 loaves of bread. To enter, leave a comment and share how you incorporate more whole grains into your diet. You can leave your comment until Tuesday (10/13) at 8PM EST. Winners will be drawn at random. Good luck to each of you!

  1. We try to buy whole grain products such as bread, pasta, etc. No more white bread for us!

  2. The easiest way we have done this is to eat whole grain breads and whole wheat pasta. My husband and daughter never noticed the difference in the pasta, and I think it has a better flavor. We’re also working on incorporating more oatmeal into our diets – starting the day off with a hot, steaming bowl really hits the spot in the wintertime! Thanks!

  3. When shopping I always purchase the variety with “whole grains” (for example Goldfish, bread, waffles). They never taste any different! I have to same policy when it comes to calcium fortified food. :)

  6. Yeah for free bread! My boys (4 year old twins) are really picky eaters so we sneak in whole grains whenever possible.
Using whole grain pasta is my favorite way to sneak it in and the boys never know the difference. We also love to have cheese toast for breakfast on whole grain bread which is a great way to start our busy days!
Thanks for the opportunity to win :)

  7. This is a fantastic giveaway! Kudos to Sara Lee! My kids and I only eat whole grain bread! I figured they get enough “junk” at school that I would make sure they get the right foods here at home. I use whole grain bread for everything that calls for bread even our Thanksgiving stuffing!
Thanks for sharing this with us in TwitterVille!

Posted by Amy Watson | October 6, 2009, 7:37 am
  9. I try to use whole-wheat flour in cooking, even for some applications you wouldn’t expect. Making a “white sauce” out of whole wheat flour tastes the same, but isn’t exactly “white”!

  10. We incorporate whole grains in many ways including bread. We will only buy multi grain breads for lunches, toast, etc. Also any pasta we eat is whole grain. Not only are we trying to lead a healthy lifestyle we also have to keep my husband’s cholestrol down. Any snack food we have consists of apples, carrots, pretzels, cheeses, etc..

  15. I try to use a combination of white and wheat flours when cooking. My husband notices when I add too much in it. He’s a Wonder Bread guy and would be very happy if all bread tasted like the Wonder he grew up knowing. So, a little at a time.

  18. About 7 years ago I started buying whole wheat pasta instead of white, and now we don’t care for white noodles, my husband says he thinks they taste like soap! We also only buy wheat bread! I think it has more flavor, too. I have not, however, transitioned to wheat flour, I still use AP.

    Thanks for the contest, Amy!

  25. I always buy whole grain breads for our family and I try to get those that do not contain HFCS.

I’ve been purchasing Sara Lee’s mini bagels to make sandwiches for my daughter’s lunch. My two-year-old loves eating them as a snack. Regular size bagels are too big for kids and these are just perfect.

  28. When first making the switch to whole grain pasta I mixed half of the whole grain with half the enriched stuff and gradually worked our way up to complete whole grain pastas. When looking at the breads I have taught my husband to look at the ingredient list because many of the wheat breads are just enriched breads with caramel coloring instead of whole grain.

  38. I love whole grains. I try to buy the whole grain version of most everything I can — bread, rice, tortillas, pasta, english muffins, cereal, even crackers. I started doing this about 3 years ago and now I really prefer whole grains instead of traditional flour products. My kids were young enough at the time that they couldn’t tell the difference and don’t complain one bit.

  71. I incorporate whole grains by baking with whole wheat, and by buying products that only contain 100% whole wheat. A lot of products are decieving by saying they are wheat products or contain whole wheat, but unless it’s 100% whole wheat you aren’t getting your best. We also use whole grain noodles, brown rice, and corn tortillas! Thanks for this opportunity! With a 1 year old who loves PB sandwiches, we’d devour these loaves!

  124. What a FABULOUS giveaway!! We try to incorporate whole grains in our diet with bread, brown rice and Kashi products. Wow – this would save us a TON of money. Between making lunches for 3 each day – my husband and I work and my son is in PreK, this would be the best giveaway I could ever win – haha! :)

  129. I started mixing half brown rice with half regular rice to get my husband a bit more used to it and slowly upped the mix till it is 100% brown rice all the time. And white whole wheat flour makes it easy to sneak it into cookies etc. I also somehow convinced him that quinoa was his favorite thing in the whole world so it is a ‘treat’ when he gets it

  134. We’ve made the switch to whole grain bread. My kids will still attack a loaf of white and Grandma’s like candy (which should tell you something right there). We’ve also switched to brown rice which was a little harder but so worth it!
