Giveaway Results: Crystal Light Water Way Challenge Week 3

drinking-water

Congratulations to Rhonda (Commenter #196) on winning this $50 giveaway!

I have always been aware of the great benefits of drinking water. A little known fact about me is that I actually went to college for a food and nutrition degree. Even though I didn’t pursue my career as a dietician, I have been able to put into practice how to cook for my family and provide healthy choices for them.  Drinking more water is a positive choice for all of us… well, maybe not my daughter who is still in those early stages of potty training, but I digress!

There are oodles of benefits to water and I can say that I am seeing a couple of benefits already. For me, my eyes don’t feel quite as dry as they used to. I also feel like I have a little more bounce in my step. More importantly, it is helping me get over the hump of midday snacking because I feel more full.

Here are few more positive benefits of drinking more water:

  • While water is not a miracle cure for anything, dehydration can make you feel drained and can cause all sorts of ailments from muscle aches to headaches. You can combat issues like these by drinking the recommended amount of water for your day.
  • Water might not make you lose weight, but it can help you feel fuller. My junk food loading has slowed down these past two weeks and I have been trying to reach for a glass of water instead of that cookie jar.
  • Drinking more water will help your skin look even better. By drinking my eight glasses of water, my skin doesn’t feel as dry anymore. Anything that can help my skin look better and still keep me on my frugal budget is a dream come true.

Crystal Light would like you to sign up for the Water Way Challenge is easy and will only take a few seconds. You can then use the site as a tool to track your hydration throughout the day. The bonus of signing up is that Crystal Light will be assisting those 900 million folks around the world who do not have access to clean water.

To help encourage discussion about hydration, I will be offering a fun giveaway of $50 to one lucky reader each day that I post about this challenge (four opportunities in all). To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment by 06/23 (Tuesday) at 8PM EST and tell me one benefit you notice from staying hydrated?

  3. Benefit from staying hydrated…this will sound weird but it’s true…I can hear better!

I have inner ear troubles and my doctor said it is due to an imbalance with the fluid in my ears. I’ve had to limit my salt intake and I have also started drinking more water to help flush out the retained water.

Yeah it sounds strange but I have noticed a lessening of the ringing in my ears and one of my ears actually cleared up a bit!

But, I have broken my weight barrier and I’ve lost four pounds, just by drinking water instead of snacking! It really works!

  61. I have been a water lover for some time now. One of the greatest benifits for me is staying on track with what I am eating. If I feel an urge for food I will drink 8 oz of water and wait a few minutes to see if the feeling goes away AND I have another 8oz of water under my belt for the day. If the feeling persists I know I am actually hungry and not having just a little craving.

I try and get him to drink as much water as possible and since he’s very much a “pop guy” using Crystal light (he loves the lemonade and rasberry ice) to flavor it is almost the only way to get him to drink as much as he needs! :-)

  142. Drinking water is beneficial as it is low cost (brita filters) and drinking more water means drinking less beverages with calories. I don’t snack as much when drinking a lot of water or low calorie gatorade/crystal lite – the need for a sweet fix is helped by drinking crystal lite – the orange is terrific. Skin has improved – not as dry and looks better.

  150. I have quit drinking soda for a couple of months and thus started drinking much more water. Although I always knew soda was bad for me, I loved it and got a headache if I did not drink at least one to two a day. However, I finally quit! It was hard at first. But I quickly noticed I fell asleep easier when I drunk more water. Also, so far I have lost 10 pounds. Not only have I lost weight, I feel healthier and more alert.

My favorite flavor is Wild Strawberry. I don’t buy 1 box at a time, not it is 10 boxes at a time. I gave up all cola and frizzy drinks for my health. I have lost weight, have a healthy glow and yes more enery.

I always knew the benefits of drinking water, but never realized how much “cleaner” and more “pure” it made me feel, like my body was just light and clean. I love it!
