Giveaway Results: Crystal Light Water Way Challenge Week 2

water-with-lemon

Congratulations to Kim (Commenter #181) on winning this $50 giveaway!

There are many creative ways to stay hydrated and for those of us that struggle with drinking water, I thought I would share a few new ways to add hydration into your day.

  • Buy a reusable water bottle that you can take with you when you are on the go. I love the stainless steel varieties because it keeps your water nice and cold. If you are unsure how much liquid the water bottle will hold, pour the water into a measuring glass and then figure out how many of those bottles are needed to meet your water quota.
  • Adding lemon or a splash of bottled lemon juice to my water makes drinking water more appealing to me. That hint of flavor seems to make all of the difference.
  • Exercising forces me to drink more water. By exercising, I am not only getting my body in shape, but it also makes me thirsty for more water. I call that a total win-win situation!
  • Encourage the rest of the family to drink more water by serving a glass of water with your meals instead of any other drinks. After everyone gets one glass in, then offer milk or juice for the second glass.
  • Make a deal with yourself that for every cup of tea, coffee, or soda that you drink that you will match this with one cup of water. This has helped me scale back the amount of coffee I am drinking and increased the amount of water going into my system.
  • Crystal Light does offer lots of fun flavors that you can add to your water and it is low in calories. I am a fan of the Raspberry Lemonade & Fruit Punch flavors for adding a little punch to my water.

Crystal Light would like you to sign up for the Water Way Challenge is easy and will only take a few seconds. You can then use the site as a tool to track your hydration throughout the day. The bonus of signing up is that Crystal Light will be assisting those 900 million folks around the world who do not have access to clean water.

To help encourage discussion about hydration, I will be offering a fun giveaway of $50 to one lucky reader each day that I post about this challenge (four opportunities in all). To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment by 06/23 (Tuesday) at 8PM EST and tell me one creative idea for sneaking in more water throughout your day!

  11. The only way I get enough water is to have a HUGE cup of water on my desk that I slurp through the day. It’s easier in the summer when it’s hot than in the winter!

  18. I am trying to get myself to drink more water by being cheap: I think of all the money I could save by ordering water instead of a $2.00 (or more!) tea at a restaurant, and all of the money I could save by drinking the water that we already pay for each month instead of buying 2 liter Cokes at the store. Lately, since we are buying a new house, my cheapness has been winning and I’ve been drinking more water!

I also keep sliced lemons to throw in there if I need a little something extra.

  118. In addition to drinking water at meal times, after eating I crush ice in the blender, add some crystal light, and have an instant icee desert!

  119. I have a med. prob. and have to drink 6-8 quarts a day. I wear a Camelback hydration system backpack around the house and, well everywhere but to work so I can sip all day. It holds a liter (my 2L wore out. The tube clips to my shoulder so the sippy tip is always handy.

  121. If the water is in sight, you are more likely to drink it (at least I am). So put a bottle of water in all the places you ’sit’…….car, desk, nightstand, couch, etc.

  129. I always order water to drink instead of soda when I’m eating out at a restaurant. It’s not only better for my health, it’s cheaper too! Now if I could only get my hubby to do the same!!

  133. I keep a water bottle with me, at least M-F. I fill it up before I leave in the morning so I have water to drink on the way in to work, fill it up throughout the day, and then again before I leave.

  134. Besides drinking water between meals, I only drink water with meals! I’ve noticed that other beverages (tea, soda, etc.) can totally change the way a really good meal tastes, but drinking water keeps all the tastes pure! I also only offer my children milk or water to drink with meals! They never get enough water!

  138. I rarely have anything other than water available in my refrigerator. That way my kids and I will go for a cold glass of water whenever we are thirsty. I also keep a reusable bottle of cold water on my desk and work and refill it with the ice sold water from the water cooler in the office. COLD water makes the difference for me!

  140. I’m really trying to increase my water intake and I like a lot of the suggestions on here.

I started carrying a 24 oz plastic water bottle so I always have water with me. Plus if I drink three full bottles, I actually get 9 (instead of the recommended 8) glasses of water a day. So it’s kind of a trick to get that extra one in there.

I’ve also made it part of my nighttime routine to fill up the bottle the night before and set it next to the bed, so I can start drinking from the moment I wake up in the morning. So even with the morning rush, I’ve still got a good hydrated start.

Since I drink it plain (if I want water I just want water–no lemon, no sparkle, no nothing) and I’m not too picky about the temperature, these ideas work for me.

    Posted by Deirdre | June 13, 2009, 5:27 pm
  141. Seems that my “8″ followed by a “)” turned into a smiley face with sunglasses when I posted! It was supposed to read “I actually get nine (instead of the recommended eight) glasses of water a day.

    Sorry about that…

  142. I am not “ANTI” H20,but I definitly do not drink enough. However, I have found that if I keep a bottle of water with me during the day by the end of the day it is usually gone!!!! I also can drink larger amounts if it is Ice water. I like it good and COLD!!!!!!

  144. I’m not a fan of plain water unless it’s really hot outside and I’m really thirsty so I add Crystal Light On-the-go (Tea with Lemon) to my water and that helps me get my 8-8 oz. glasses in a day. Also, we keep our frig stocked with bottle water.

  172. For about two months I’ve been using crystal light and it’s been great. I have found so many ways to drink more water throughout the days and weeks. For example, the other day I went to Dennys and the waiter asks what l would like to drink in for a minute I thought about it, and then I said water. So after receiving my water, I happen to carry with me the Crystal Light “on The Go “packet and I used it in my water. The Waiter even laugh a little, then she said do you thing girl… So for that day I intake more water then I attended to. I also carry the Crystal light with me to work so I can drink more water during my eight hour shift and it works.
