Aurora is a powerfully simple photo management software for consumers who want to reduce the complexity, and increase the results, of editing, organizing, sharing and storing digital images.
Aurora is intuitive to use, enabling anyone to go from download to expert in a matter of minutes.
Aurora’s key features include:
o Visual photo editing: The strength of Aurora lies in its intuitive, powerful, visual editor which presents suggested improvements in a what-you-see-is-what-you-get fashion. The unique relight tool essentially “turns on” the light inside the image, creating better, more realistic photos. Users can also straighten, adjust color strength and warmth, crop, zoom and adjust red-eye in a simple, intuitive and visual way.
o Organizing and viewing of photos: Aurora allows consumers to easily import photos from their camera or computer, re-arrange and re-name them, then tag and rate favorites for easy viewing and retrieval.
o Sharing and publishing: Aurora enables consumers to email, print, and connect directly to their photo sharing, social networking and accounts from within Aurora making it easy to share select photos online on sites like Flickr and Facebook.
o Online back-up: Photos are one of those truly irreplaceable items. Aurora’s optional online back-up service is powered by Amazon.com and stores photos to keep them out of harm’s way. Online back-up plans are available for $4.95 per month. Users can simply hit “online back up” from within Aurora to sync directly with their Amazon storage account.

Oh, I’d love to win! I try to use natural light as much as possible rather than using the flash. But, if I have to use the flash rather than not getting the shot, I do it!
One of the best things that I have recently started doing is not necessarly holding the camera straight. I also get down or up on different levels. And thanks to digital photography, I take a lot of pictures. I just shoot and shoot. It is so easy to just delete what is not worth keeping.
pscole3467 at gmail dot com
I like to take a TON of shots to be sure that I capture the moment in at least one…I love digital photography!
Natural light is much better than using a flash. If your home doesn’t have much natural light, look into a flash diffuser (won’t work for point-and-shoot cameras, but will work for SLR). Also, for more portrait type photos, zoom in on your children so that they fill the frame. That way your child, and not the pile of toys around them, is the subject!
I always try to use natural light whenever possible.
Some of the cutest pictures I have gotten of my kids are of them walking holding hands and I shoot the picture from behind. Doing this when we are at the lake, gives me great lighting, and a perfect background!
This software looks great! I have an 18 month old who is very photogenic, if I do say so myself. Professional photos and adjustments are so expensive. It would be great to have. It is very difficult to pose her for my ‘photo sessions’, I just let her be, and just keep snapping. I have gotten some great photos just letting her act natural and play. I delete the ones I don’t like.
One of the things I love to do is use my zoom to try and get close ups of their facial expressions.
I always get the best shots when I take pictures of my kids when they are outside, and I always take a ton of shots so I’m sure to get at least a couple of good ones.
I’m not really a great photographer, so I feel funny giving my ‘best’ tip…the best tip I can probably give is to learn your camera’s features so that you can get the best shot possible for the setting.
When photographing kids, remember to get lots of action shots – in some of my best photos my kids have their backs to the camera! Don’t always line them up and say smile : )
i have 18 month old twins so its always fun trying to get them both into posing mode at the same time. What I do is involve them in some type of project or game and then, when they are deep in playing, i yell their names. Both look up at the same time and i get the shot. I have so many cute shots of them playing in the sandbox, playing with finger paints, etc…
I’ve also found that getting down to their level makes great shots.
The best photo tip I have is take lots and lots of pictures. You never know what great photo you may end up with “accidently”.
My best photo advice is to always take your camera with you. You never know when the moments will arise for a great photo op. You will never regret having too many photos.
I am learning more and more each time that I use my camera. With 3 children under 4, I haven’t had a lot of time to “play” with the camera–just point and shoot and hope that I get the shot! My best “tip” would be to take the time to play with the camera; get to know it and all of its features. I LOVE the macro setting on my camera–you can take pictures SO much better than with zoom alone!
I like to capture a moment instead of getting the kids lined up to say cheese. It has more emotion.
I get the best shots lately outside. A great natural background is grass! I lay my 5 month old down and it just brings out everything in the color with the green behind her!
This is something I could use for a “fond memories” of my currently 92 year old father. I plan on putting together a CD/DVD for the family this summer. My only tip is to use your best thoughts when cataloging you fondest memories.
My best photo tip is to not have people pose, just get their attention when I’d like a picture where I can see their faces without having the fake look. That may be something you can control more than natural light too. You have to be prepared when possible & just have fun when you can’t control the situation.
First, take way more pictures than you’ll ever want. Second, when you’re editing them, limit the number that you allow yourself to keep. This skims the photos down to allow only the best.
My best tip is – take several candid shots to get the best one and don’t have all shots in a posed position.
Wow, sounds like awesome software! My favorite photo tip is cropping. With two girls, and toys all over the place, it’s easy to get a beautiful smile from the girls but have tons of messy toys in the background! Get rid of the mess, and I now have a picture worth printing!
Wait until the subjects are distracted before snapping the picture. Everyone looks more natural and not so stiff.
Invest in a good camera! We finally forked over the cash for a canon rebel when we found out we were pregnant and it has been so worth it! Even my novice attempts at photography with the basic lense standard with the camera, pictures turn out light years better than photos on our old pocket digital camera!
The best tip I can give is when taking a group picture try to have your background plain or neutral. This way the people stand out and not the printed curtains or loud colors in the background.
Use natural light as much as possible!! I don’t like using the flash. Also, take TONS of pictures…my little boy moves so fast that I get one or two really good shots out of 15 or 20!
I would not consider myself a good picture taker so don’t have a tip other than keep your hands steady and take multiple shots. I think I need this software to help me out!
As most people have mentioned, natural lighting is the best. I also love to have my camera handy at all times and just snap away.
Never know when an awesome shot will present it self
I’ll share two tips!!! Whoohoo!!
Read your camera’s manual. You’ll be suprised with all of the stuff your standard point and shoot can do.
Also, try to take pictures from a different perspective. We gave my neice a camera for her birthday- it’s so fun to see how she ‘views’ the world. She’s taken some definite favorites!
I’m excited to see how this plays out!!
Laura
lolliemck@gmail.com
Water in background(ocean, lake, pool) Clothing of blue and white or blue and black.
Thank You.
I love to take photos of my daughter in the evening when the sun goes down, I wish I had a camera that had the lens’ to get the real closeups… best advice is try not to pose them all the time!
I find that some of the best pictures I have taken come when my children don’t know I’m trying to take their picture. Sometimes a side profile or while they are deep in thought produce the best pictures.
I’m a beginner in photography but I find it easiest to photograph my 20 month old boy when he is doing something he loves. It’s much easier to get a natural smile while he’s holding the hose than asking him to smile for me.
Just follow your instincts and shoot. With a really good editing software like Aurora Photo Editing Software, you’ll be able to fine tune your image.
I like to take my kids to the park and take lots of shots. They turn out so well, I use those for the photos I display rather than taking them to Wal-Mart or some other studio for portraits. The natural light and the element of fun are the bonuses!
I love to use natural light when taking pics of my kids, and a reflector (even just a white blanket) to make it look professional. And I never over-pose my kids – I want to capture their candid moments and normal expressions!
I like to take shots when the people I’m shooting don’t know they are being photographed. I will also use my zoom lens so I can be a little further away and capture some great expressions.
I got to this site by turning on the Tyra banks show and going to freebies4mom.com.Thank you for the opportunity to sign up for this free software. I just got into photography and Im really wanting to start up my own business. I looked into getting photoshop but it is way out of my price range, the camera was expensive enough. God Bless You
I have a 10 month old, so getting good shots can be tricky since he’s always squirming. But I’ve found that if I take a bunch of shots right in a row I’ll not only get at least one good one, but I’ll also have a fun series documenting his various expressions.
I love black and white film, and more candid photos. I would love to win! Thanks
When taking a portrait of someone in natural light, NEVER take the photo with them FACING the light source. Always position them in front of the light source. Otherwise the light will be too harsh on the face.
Toss a plain bed sheet on the bed and over the head board, open up the curtains, and snap away for great B&W’s..
The more I carry my camera with me, the more great pics I get. Also I try to remember to have an extra set of batteries in my pouch after missing to many opportunities for great shots because the batteries were dead.
When you are trying to “capture” a moment I always make sure to avoid being trigger shy. I might have to sort through dozens of each shot, but one of those shots seems to always be “the one”!
Using a camera’s manual settings always works for me. It’s amazing the difference in picture quality you can achieve by simply trying out other settings besides automatic. Also, when taking pictures of my kids, I try to make sure I am close enough or zoomed in enough to exclude too much background and distractions. When editing, I like to use high contrast. Happy photo taking!
One of the best tips I can think of is when photographing children, stand above them looking down. Have them look up into the camera… it gets some fantastic shots! Also, sunrise and sunset at the ocean is one of the best times and places to get great photos of both people and nature!

I learned this tip from my mother in law, who I initially thought was a crazy camera lady. She snaps a quick picture while people are in the process of posing for a group pic. At first I thought she didn’t realize we hadn’t finished getting into position, but then she explained that she likes the candid shot of everyone kind of chatting while making the transition. I’ve tried it a few times and it actually turns out to be nice, more natural, pictures.
is to deal with your pictures as soon as you print them. It is can get overwhelming if you store up all your photos and they try putting 3 years worth of pictures into albums at once
I take alot of photos of my daycare children, so I can make albums forthe parents. I have found that taking them during activities is easier than posing them. Little kids get goofy smiles when they try to smile for a photo.
alsdgravenhof@hotmail.com
Always pay attention to what’s in the background! You don’t want a tree growing out of someone’s head or ugly trashcans or something showing up behind your subject.
take lots of pictures, especially of kids. most won’t turn out, but the ones that do are great action/candids.
One great way to take a good picture is to take the picture while youre standing on something talled than the person nad take the picture while loking down at them that way the look thinner, another trick is to take the picture closer tot he person.
i am a picture fanatic, i love them and i have 2 wonderful children a 4month old son and a 8 yr daughter
Having 4 very active boys, I like to make sure to take not just one picture of the moment, but several so that I don’t miss a good expression or action shot. I especially love shooting them and then editing them into black and white.
The best tip i can think of is to take lots of pictures, but dont just get people, try to include other things like nature or landmarks. But at the same time remember that you can go online and get pictures of anything, so personalize it somehow so it says something about you.
Just follow your instincts and shoot. With a really good editing software like Aurora Photo Editing Software, you’ll be able to fine tune your image.
Make sure you always have your camera with you! I have missed many great shots because I had forgotten my camera! Also, take lots of pictures so you have many to chose from.
I say “shoot from the hip”! In other words try unique angles and don’t always set up a picture, let the picture tell its own story.
I recently finished taking my first photography class and I learned that the best shots are the ones outside of the “norm”. I love to take shots of my kids as they are walking away or from different angles.
I would love to win. My best photo tip is to always check your lighting. Make sure the sun is behind you illuminating your object so there is not glare or darkness
This would be an amazing prize. My trick is to use the self-timer that way you don’t have to worry about shakie hands when trying to hold the camera still.
Get down on your child’s level and try to take a picture straight on or a little below instead of looking down all the time at them.
always scrunch down when doing close ups on your kids face!
I finally learned that when photographing kids the few pictures in which you actually get them to be still look faked and the ones where they are running around, making silly faces, and just generally being kids are the best! Get a camera with a quick shutter speed and let them have fun!
My tip is to save your original picture, and then play with all the editings you can. You will be surprised at what neat things you can create. But be sure to save the original.
Cropping can make a BIG difference when it comes to editing photos. I never used to do it and I think it is an option that is often overlooked. It can turn an ordinary picture into a real work of art!
I have 2 toddler boys so getting them to pose for a shot is almost impossible!! My photo tip is to just snap as many pictures as possible! You will be surprised at the ones that turn out and you can just delete the rest!
Thanks for the opportunity to win this–it would be great!!
My boyfriend dabbles in photography and the best advice he has give me is to know your angles and your light prefernce(flash or natural). The right angles can eliminate akward dark spots, while the light can enhance color and texture.
My favorite photo trick is to take photos at different angles and hold the camera in different ways. I also love to take pictures when the person isn’t looking!
Love the site!
I love taking pictures of kids. Lying on the ground or floor for the little ones gives you a better angle and bigger smiles because they think it’s funny!
Learn the features of your camera, before you actually need to use it.
My best tip is to get to know your camera! There can be many helpful buttons and different things your camera can do for you.
Try to find good natural light…that always helps me.
I take photos for our animal shelter to go online. My best advice is to keep shooting. The animals don’t like to sit still so eventually you’ll get one. And being able to remove certain things from pictures is definitely helpful for the animals.
I always take lots of pictures, and love upclose photos, especially for young children! I look back on photos I took years ago of my nieces, and you just can’t get the time back- so make sure you capture every moment!!
I used to love black room photography, but you can’t have everything. My advice is when buying a digital camera and that is never to go below 5 Megapixels, you will regret it. And make sure you don’t have your camera set on a lower megapixel setting to save memory.
I would love to win this!
My best photo tip would be let the kids take off with the camera and do a photoshoot! I’ve gotten the best smiles from my younger kids to their big sister then I think I ever could get! Nature also can make any pic useful! I have pics of my kids just with lots of water and green grass and tress…beautiful!
I love taking pictures and have learned to look at the entire frame instead of just the main subject. So many times you take a picture only to realize when you look at it later that you have people you don’t want in the background.
Always check that your lens is in focus. Even with autofocus features, sometimes we are faster than the function. Without focus, there isn’t a good picture
I don’t make my toddler pose for pictures, since she wont stay still, but I keep a point n shoot in my diaper bag and take tons of pics of her everyday. Just so I won’t miss anything of her growing up.
Read tips on other photograpers website for tips and cheatsheets on how to take better pics with your particular camera, as each camera is different.
I am just getting into photography and my tip would be to try to capture natural moments, not posed ones.
I have two year old twins so my favorite tip is to get down on the children’s level and snap away as they play! Digital cameras will take as many pictures as your memory card can hold for free, so keep going to get some great shots!
I agree that natural light is best. It is so difficult to get a good shot of a shiny object with the flash.
I would love to win this! I take so many pictures of my kids and family and find it hard to get just the right conditions. It is tough to get a 3 year old and 3 month old to cooperate let alone make sure the lighting conditions are right! It would be great to restore some of the cute pictures!
I would love to win the software. I love taking pictures of my 2 year old son and our 2 dogs, I love close ups, my son has the prettiest brightest blue eyes and i love getting them up close. Thank you =) Ashley
When you are taking a picture think in thirds. Usually it is not best to have the object or person directly center in the picture. But them off to one side or the other. It creates a better look for the picture.
When taking photos of weddings or family functions, etc. Don’t just focus on the action, remember reaction as well. You be amazed at what you capture.
I have been fascinated by photography and would absolutely love this. I am an aspiring photog and anything to teach me to learn and become better is awesome. One of the things I’ve found to be very helpful is taking ALOT of pictures even if its everyday. Babies grow into kids before you know if and if you have pictures it helps you to relive and look back on those memories w/happiness!
I love to take flower photos. I use the zoom lens and get up close and personal as much as I can.
The most important aspect of photography is to understand the nature behind the observers eye. I could try to give an explanation, but this article does a better job:
http://www.popphoto.com/Features/The-Photographer-s-Guide-to-the-Eye
another great site is National Geographic’s photo tips:
http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/photo-tips
I love taking pictures not only of people, but of nature, wildlife and scenery. My best tip would be to always keep your camera handy or you’ll miss some great shots, and backup your pictures on a CD or in your computer. I lost one of my most special camera cards and had no backup.
When taking pictures of my 3 and a half month old, I like to snap the shot through an object when she’s doing something odd, like trying to focus on a toy or something, the faces are priceless. I started doing this because she knows the camera now, so I have to catch her when she’s not looking. I love how the picture looks more artisic and how it kind of looks like you were “peeking” through something to capture the moment!
Don’t ever delete a picture! I would love to win this!
I have 3 boys (6,4, and 2). I used to try to get each of them to sit still and smile at the camera, but I realized that allowing them to hold a toy or even just waiting until they are absorbed in something is really when some of my best photos were taken. Instead of trying to force a moment, I wait until one presents itself and I always keep the camera handy. This also keeps the children much happier and there are less meltdowns. I also don’t stress about imperfect moments, because someday those are the ones we will laugh about.
Always go for a natural look.. natural light.. and natural backgroud! It makes for outstanding pictures
I always try to get on the ground to be level with my boys when taking their picture. Thanks, I hope I win
I would love to win this. I dont believe i have ever won anything in my life. I love to take pictures(especially of my 6 yr old daughter, Hailey) Thanks for the opportunity !!
Wendy
I MY GOD THIS IS SO EXCITING……..I SAW YOU ON THE TYRA SHOW….I WOULD LOVE TO WIN THIS IM NOT MUCH OF A PHOTOGRAPHER,BUT I HOPE I WIN SO I COULD TAKE PICTURES OF MY TWO INFANTS…… DON’T PICTURES OF THEM…..WELL GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE…HOW EXCITING!!!!!!!!
I heard about you on the tyra banks show thanks to freebies4mom. I would definently will LOVE to win because I have a 21 month old son and I am constantly taking pictures of him!
My major is photography and hoping this will help me get some practice into my major.
Thanks!
This would be a wonderful prize to win. My best photo tip that I have learned is to not always take posed pictures. If you just hang out in the background with a zoom lense and have a little patience you can get some great shots. Also, try taking shots at different angles.
My sister just gave me a camera and I am learning to take pictures. I would love to have this program to help me fix the ones I have taken that are to shaded and need fixing, or have things or people in the background that need editing out.
As a portrait photographer (headshots for actors and models) the best thing you can do is make your subject comfortable. Get to know them, talk about baseball, or movies, or music. Make a joke and capture them in that moment when the genuine smile appears.
would love to win.
I like to keep my camera out until people become desensitized and I can click at just the right instance.
I also love to take lots of pics, many from different angles…
My favorite tip is to shoot, shoot, shoot! Take as many pics as you can because one is bound to be good. You can always erase the bad ones.
i just keep clicking while moving slowly around whatever subjedt i’m taking photos of. one of them is bound to be good.
For my I try to always keep a camara at hand you never know when your kids will do something fuuny.
This is an amazing product . I will love to have it
I have a squirmy baby who I love to take pictures of, but I quickly learned that I need to take a LOT of pictures in order to get one or two great shots. Thanks to digital, I just snap away without worrying about cost!
Thanks for the info! We use a bean bag to help steady the camera for those really unique shots- don’t have to carry a tripod.
I normally take a ton of digital photos, many of the same subject so that I can get at least, in most cases, one really good shot.
I would love to win this giveaway.
I love taking outdoor shots either in the early morning or in the late afternoon when the sun is not so harsh.
Hi……..I always carry my camera with me everywhere I go. You never know what exciting event is going to happen with your children or your friends. PS. Carry extra batteries.
I put my point and shoot on the “kids and pets” setting. I find it captures a better quality picture of my kiddos than the regular “auto” setting. I also like using the macro setting to get up close and personal shots.
My best photo tip is to keep your camera with you as much as possible. You never know when that great shot will present itself.
Look at the whole picture and not just your subject(s). A lot of good pictures are ruined because it looks like someting is sticking out of someone’s head from the back ground.
I’m a very amateur photographer, that’s why I need this software so bad,but I think try to loosen up the subject and make sure their head is not cut off. Interaction with props or nature also make great photos.
I would love to win this! I take lots of pictures of my 2 kids and this would be really helpful
I like to put our camera on the ’sports’ mode so I can take pictures while my kids are running around playing and dancing.
babies!!! love taking pics of babies, they are so natural just get down to their level and shoot
Take pictures outside!
My tips are take alot of candid pics. These always come out best. And take multiple pics to make sure u get as much captured as possible. Natural light is always ur best option. Also get diff angles and where u position the person in the pic. They don’t have to be in the middle or in a straight frame. Off pics
R so much fun! And interesting to look at.
I learned to pay attention to what’s in the background. Nothing’s worse than having the perfect shot only to find that the printed picture with the “nature” scene in the backround just looks like a tree growing out of your kid’s head! This is really nice software…thanks for the great giveaway!
I always have my camera close by for those unexpected great photo shots of family, friends, and pets. I usually do the point and shoot as it is a one time moment.
I love to take LOTS of ramdom pictures at family events, but sometimes I found that I would miss someone or only got the back of their head etc… so now besides all the random shots I make sure that I get everyone gathered together for some posed pictures and we always end up with a goofy group shot. It’s great fun and no one is missed when we look back on our fun times together.
My favorite is to sit on the floor/ground… and look up at my kids and snap away. The sky is an awesome backdrop!!
I go to several quilting events and use the camera to capture the creative ideas of others. With permission of course. It allows me to incorporate their ideas into my daughter’s and my quilting projects.
I would love a chance to win this software! My tip is two-fold: as a fan of scrapbooking, I’ve learned to “pre-crop” my photos by getting up close, using the rule of thirds, and avoiding cluttered shots. Once I’ve uploaded the photo, I try editing it with color saturation – a simple application that can often add just the right pop.
I think the best tip I have is not every photo is a “keeper.” Take several shots of important moments and keep the best ones to savor the memories!
I have been searching for the “right” photo editor that doesn’t cost too much and is user-friendly. I would love to try Aurora!
I take multiple shots with the same background/outfit/activity and then combine all the photos together in a collage format. With some brightness fixes, cropping, and creative layout, these turn out pretty neat.
Thanks for the chance to win. With 2 little ones I am taking picts all the time.
Frame your photo then take a big step forward (close in is almost always better).
Shoot many frames and one will surely come out perfect!
This sounds like a great software.. My photo tip to capture a great moment is trying to snap pictures using a colorful background!!… whether a red wall, a bright wall painting, flowery gardens, or simply using someone else’s colorful clothes. everytime the pictures turn out amazing. Try it!!
For toddlers/young children it can be great to get them holding something new (like a big lollipop or real flowers). They have awe & excitment on their sweet faces! (Great for portraits)
My best photo tip that I’ve learned and have passed on is to never make the focus of the picture (person, animal, etc.) centered. It’s always better in an outdoor type photo to have them on an edge, and so forth to look the best!!
I would love to win this! I am a picture taking fool, but I’m sure it would drive my 2 boys crazy with me taking more pictures
I would have to say my best photo tip is to keep snapping! You’re going to get some you don’t like but ones that just blow you away as well. That’s when I’ve taken some of my best pictures!
I try to get candid shots, they seem to be the cutest and easiest to get. I really need a way to “sneak” up on them in different lighting, without having to say look this way or come stand over here with those toys!
This program sounds like a great one.
Thanks
Thanks for the giveaway! I’ve heard, and have tried to implement, that it’s better to take close up shots, because you’re closer to the ’subject’. It works for me, and gives me some super cute pics of my two little ones!
Natural Light, and down at children’s eye level. Two tips I use alot.
Oh me ………that would be so awesome to just do a click and it’s fixed. I have to take so many pictures just so I know I will have a few to pick from. LOL
My tip is to shoot in natural light. Use black and white film whenever you can. It makes great people pictures.
I spent the day on the golf course today taking pictures of the geese and bridges etc.
Anything makes a good picture if you see the beauty in the subject.
Would love to have new photo software. I love to experiment with my pictures.
Thanks for this opportunity
Use a camera with fast shutter speed and snap away… you’re more likely to get a good shot this way!
I HAVE SUCH A HARD TIME WITH PHOTO EDITING SOFTWARE AND THIS ONE ACTUALLY LOOKS GRAND! IT LOOKS VERY USER FRIENDLY. I HOPE TO GET LUCKY.
LYSA
I love taking pictures of my children. My daughter always complains how I have the camera. This software looks like it would be awesome. Sometime you take the shots and they just don’t come out as you think they would.
Like so many have already said, my best tip is to just take tons of pictures. One of them is sure to end up right. Also, natural light – not using the flash is definitely the way to go, if you have a steady hand. I’m working on that one. I’d love to have a simpler photo editting software. It can get complicated!
The last place you want to be shooting is in direct sunlight. It’s harsh, it creates hard, directional shadows and it’s not at all flattering to your subject. Move into the shade and you’ll get smooth, even shadows and softer light
I do a lot of bird photography and the thing I’ve learned is to have my tripod with me all the time. Steady shooting is the key!
I would say take lots of photos that way you are sure to get some great shots
When I’m taking a picture outside near trees, I try to line up a tree in the left side of the picture to sort of frame the action going on.
My tip is give my young sons something to hold while I try to capture their picture. It keeps them focused a little longer.
I would love this software. My digital camera stores its data on a memory stick. The memory stick fits right into a port or my color printer. This I can send the pictures to the grandmothers. It would be very nice if I could edit the pictures to have more clarity and brightness before I printed them for the grandmothers. That’s what this editing software would do for me and the grandmothers.
It’s great when summer finally arrives. There’s nothing like fun in the summer time.
I like to use natural lighting and shadowing to enhance the artistic appearance of any shot.
Thank you.
it may sound trite or even silly or quaint, but READ the instruction booklet that comes with your camera. As a male I never ask directions while driving or when handling things electronic. Therefore, I am always lost and my pictures look like I was on the battlefield. Now I take professional grade photos because I finally understand my camera… PS: dont tell anyone I read them.
It would be great to win this program…
This sounds perfect for me. I really like to take pictures of my girls with my camera diagonally. I just like the look of the pictures that way, instead of everything being horizontal or vertical all the time.
I like to go with UN-posed shots…
just sort of walk around & snap everything going around. I also found that if it is sunny & you are taking a picture say under a tree or in the shadow of a building, it is best to use the flash , it tricks the camera & lightens the subject, instead of everything being dark.
ThanX!
I would say angling your body. Not standing up straight always looks better. Put your weight on one foot, bend your other knee, and turn to the side a little. Also, trying to get real smile in pictures instead of creepy plastered on ones.
I’ve found my photos look better when using natural light. I’m also learning to use the zoom more effectively.
i need this!!
My advice is to always have the camera handy because you never know when that perfect shot will appear. Thanks!
When I take pictures of our chihuahuas or the grandkids I sit on the floor and the shots are better.
my best photo tip would be catch them off guard – i love to have those pictures of my kids doing what they do
Photo Tip = When doing potrait photography, I never stand straight up, even if the person is taller then me. To get a true eye on shot, I always bend down just a bit. That allows the camera a view straight on. Even though that sounds like it wouldn’t work, it does very much work. It is the trick of the camera!
I just keep taking pictures. My 2 and 4 yr olds will not sit still long enough for too many good shots. I can only hope for at least one.
Don’t be afraid to take 20 pictures of the same thing! And adjust one little thing between every shot.
I make sure to get down on their level (my 6 & 3 year old).
I’m not the best photographer, so my tips are simple: take tons of pics and hope for the best and outdoor photos look best.
Thanks!
I’m really a novice at photography but I do have a sweet little 3 yr old boy as my subject so I’m intent on learning. One tip I just recently learned from another source is to have your child say “monkey or milkshake” instead of the old stand by “cheese”. It really works! You get a much more natural smile and who doesn’t love monkeys and milkshakes!
Take multiple photos of your subject so you can pick and choose the best to edit.
I carry my camera in my purse at all times. I love being able to catch those not so posed moments.
get down to a child’s eye level to take their picture
The biggest mistake I see people do is to shoot into the sunlight. Never set people up with the sun behind them – their faces will be in shadows.
Instead of saying cheese say something that starts with the letter M it makes the smile more natural.
Remove lense cap befort taking picture.
my tip is to know your camera and it’s settings — don’t just click and shoot!
my best photo tip is to read the manual that comes with the camera and copy/cut out the specific parts that are relevant to the kind of pics that you take and tuck that into your cameras carrying case so thise instructions are always at hand.

My best tip is get outdoors! The natural light and vibrant colors make for some of the best photos!
I bought my first digital camera (a Nikon) last spring, and the first thing I did was to thoroughly read the manual while checking out all of the dials, bells and whistles on the camera. If you don’t read about your camera, you can miss so many great “tricks” to capture unique shots. I too love natural light, and it seems that the only time I don’t use it, is early on Christmas morning when my granddaughters are up at dawn, and I need to use the flash!
My photography tip is to full the entire frame with the subject. The less blank space there is, the more exciting the photo will be! This can also be fixed by cropping in post-production
Experiment with different settings. You never know which shot might be the most brilliant.
I love taking pictures of my kids having fun outdoors! Taking pictures of them in action can be a little difficult to develope, having this software would be great for me to capture those lively moments:)
I love photo editing software
i use it alot
Thanks 4 the opportunity 2 win this 1
My best photo tip is to try to take pictures where the people in it look natural and not posed.
The biggest change I’ve made is to get down to the kids level when taking photos. I love the new perspective and such a great change from every photolooking down on them.
My best photo tip is to remember that the subject (usually a loved one) doesn’t always have to be in the center of your shot.
I have been experimenting with different view points and angles. Climb up on a ladder and shoot down, sit on the ground and shoot up. It makes photos of every day items and events seem different.
trying to find a good one
My best tip is just to take lots of photos…eventually I get a great one!
My favorite tips are take lots of shots and look for an unusual angle
I use the sports setting on my camera when taking pictures of my kids. That way, I can catch them in action instead of always being posed. And get in close!
I love to edit the photos to black and white!
I try and use natural light, not the flash. I like the “soft” effect it creates.
Thanks for the chance to win this! The best tip I can give for taking pics is just take it. No matter how odd you may think it is, it just might be the best picture you have ever taken.
Trry to get angle on the pciture to make it more interesting. Don’t take shots from the center. Be creative.
Dont stand to far away from the person, object you are taking at picture of.
Dont stand to far away from the person, object you are taking a picture of.
I don’t have an SLR, just a point and shoot but I don’t stop snapping shots. Especially with children and animals just keep shooting. One of those will be the one you love.
Would love to be able to create a perfect picture.
I make sure I take the pic in a well lit area
I am SOO not a photographer or experienced editor. But one thing I do, is if I have a picture that is ALMOST good, but not quite–I change it to black and white and then it’s displayable!
my favorite photo editing is to turn color photos into black and white images. It takes a current photo and puts an “old” spin on it. Thanks for the chance to win.
What a great giveaway! My best tip is to keep shooting… take lots of photos and at least some will turn out. The candids are often the best!
I love taking photos of my kids when they are playing together.
What an awesome giveaway……With 4 four kids at al different ages, I am always taking pictures. Not all of them turn out, so this would be great to have…….
thanks
This Aurora Photo Editing program looks like fun. I have a 4 yr grandbaby, and she is my best subject! I have her stand far off in the distance, then I take my hand and hold it out, so it looks like she is standing in the palm of my hand! She gets such a kick out of it. Sometimes I add a little bouncy ball so it looks like the ball is bigger then she is.
I LOVE cropping! I also do a lot of black and white photographs.
