I’ll be playing outside with the kids and enjoying my surroundings!
I have a cleaning job that day and we will most likely be outside most of the day–doing school work, gardening, enjoying spring.
My 6yo daughter is really taken with “helping the Earth” as she calls it. So, we plant a garden, are learning to recycle and she’s constantly scrutinizing water and energy usage (tickles me to see her this way).
On Earth day we plan to use some recycled items to make an herb garden for the house.
Should be a great craft and learning time. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
We will spend most of the day outside in the veggie garden, listening to the birds, stirring compost, and playing with worms. The Saturday following, our town is having a celebration with music, etc. that we will be joining as well!
I love the fact that all the items are earth friendly-what a great way to teach our kids that you can have fun and be green at the same time!
My kids and I are planting tree seedlings that we’ve been growing indoors, and putting up birdhouses the kids made themselves.
We will be enjoying the outdoors – going for a walk (my daughter loves watching the birds and people’s pets) and hopefully planting a few flowers (my kids are little and mood is everything, so hopefully they will enjoy this)!
We will be planting more flowers in our garden to celebrate Earth Day! If my daughter was a little older I would take her to see that movie but I guess we will have to wait until it comes out on DVD.
Will definately be taking the kids to the park and just be outside, if its nice!
Since its in the middle of the week (work and school) it will probably be a quick trip to pick up trash at the bike trail.
But for us nearly every day is something “Earth” day. Just like Christy, my 6 year old puts me to shame with his greenness (and people call me a treehugger).
On Earth Day, we will be spending as much of the day as possible outside. Hopefully the weather cooperates! If not, I’ll plant the seeds with my son indoors and make a map of where he’d like to plant them once they’ve sprouted!
I hope to spend the afternoon at a park that is near our house. It has a lot of beautiful tall old trees and the grass is so green, I can’t think of a better way to teach my daughter about Mother Earth.

We’ll be spending Earth Day outside enjoying the sunshine and maybe having a picnic. My daughter’s only one so she’s not really into the big conversation about recycling but she’s really into being outside!
I run a home daycare. For Earth Day, all the kids are wearing green, we will use NO electricity at all and we will plant our daycare veggie garden so the kids can take their own veggies home and eat them later this summer!
I am planning to take my son to the park. I think we can go off trail for a little bit and enjoy nature.
I work for a major state university and we are kicking off our green initiative with a week long of activities. My son and I will be taking part in a week of fun activities that are also educational. We already implement several green programs in our home today but this will be a great way to really follow up with him.
We will be visiting a wild bird rehabilitation center and then cleaning up the yard.
We’ll be playing outside and working in the yard.
We will be digging in our vegetable garden, getting it ready to plant. Also we will be working a flower bed I’ve been adding to every year. I hope it is soon covered in flowers!!
My husband, 2 year old son and I will be participating in a neighborhood park clean-up. We will also be handing out flyers around the neighborhood to spread the word and hopefully get other families involved. Great giveaway and thanks for the chance!
We’ll be taking the kids and the dogs on a long walk, armed with gloves and bags to pick up trash in the neighborhood and nearby woods.
my girl scout troop will be spending the whole month of April celebrating Earth day. We have already started, with a recycling project, a reuse project. But on Earth day, we are going to be cleaning up the local school ground and planting flowers.
I am excited about planting trees and flowers this summer with my family. We also plan to make a sitting area in the back yard to enjoy the sun!
We will probably work on our garden project on Earth Day and also walk as much as we can – to school, errands, etc. And maybe, just maybe, catch a matinee of Earth (which is a bikeable distance!).
We’ll be spending Earth Day raking garden beds, and putting in a cutting garden.
We’re planting a garden in celebration. I’m so excited, and I hope I’ll be able to keep it alive.
We are planning to start out our seeds. Some sunflowers in jars, some seeds in containers, and maybe some right in the ground if it’s warm enough.

Looks like a great movie! For Earth Day, I hope my family will be able to spend some time outside. My husband has already been in planting mode, so I’m looking forward to seeing everything blooming soon!

We’ll be spending Earth Day afternoon collecting all the TRASH that people throw out along our beautiful road! UGGGH! Then we’ll have a picnic outside in the gorgeous AZ sun! Thanks for the contest!
We’ve been mulching our lawn for a few years now (instead of bagging it up and hauling it to the dump), but this year we’ve added a 2nd yard to care for (my dads) and guess what… he’s upgrading to mulching too – we are hoping for this crazy Idaho weather to ease up so we can get out and get these lawns mulched on Earth Day. Maybe we’ll even get out and get the garage cleaned up and haul all thoses piles of newspapers to the recycler as well. Happy Earth Day everyone!
Plans on being outside and cleaning up garbage. Hope to fine lots to recycle!
I will be spending the day outside with my three little boys. We will pick up litter around our neighborhood, have a picnic, and plant some new flowers!
We will be planting trees at The Stone House.
It’s a school and work day for us, but we’ll spend the evening at the park while our son explores it.
Earthday is my birthday, so this would be a great gift!
As long as the weather cooperates we’ll be digging up old bushes and taking them to an eco-friendly recycling center that takes bushes, leaves, clippings, branches, etc. If it rains, we’ll sort and bag up our recycling and take it to the recycling center.
I plan on planting a garden with my young son. Thanks!
