The Mercedes GLK Test: Day 3
The nice weatherman informed us that we’d be experiencing an all-out blizzard today. Not a snowstorm, a blizzard. We were well on our way to becoming buried when we woke up this morning as evidenced by this quick little video we took. Notice our front door had frozen shut:
Of course, we had important places we needed to get to today. My husband had an out-of-town meeting to attend, so he got dibs on the GLK. As he was digging the GLK out, we watched as our neighbor made it as far as the end of her driveway before getting stranded. There’s no way that my husband’s car would have made it that far. The Mercedes, however, drove through the still-unplowed subdivision like it was summer. He reported back that on his way to the meeting he passed 3 cars that had become stuck or slid off the road. He also witnessed a near head-on collision as the car in front of him decided to travel sideways for a while, in the opposite lane.
He arrived to his meeting early, but the handful of plowed parking spots had been taken. Maybe it was being dizzy with confidence from his new ride, but he decided the GLK could make its own parking spot. While he had trouble opening the door in waist-deep snow, he somehow got that vehicle out when it came time to leave. Boys!
While my wonderful Subaru has all-wheel drive as well, I think he had the advantage when it comes to blizzards. The GLK is a little higher up, but it’s not like you’re driving a school bus. It’s small enough to feel like you’re in a car, but can still hold as much as my wagon does. I’m starting to warm up to this thing, but maybe that’s just the heated seats.

I can picture my husband making his own parking spot also.
Have a great day and hopefully you won’t be getting anymore snow.
pscole3467 at gmail dot com
Man! I’m glad we don’t get waist deep snow around here! There’s no way I could get past my driveway!
Glad the Mercedes worked for you guys in that type of weather.
You could not have asked for “better conditions” to show off the abilities of the GLK. For all it’s good looks, it also is rugged but then, so is your husband to venture out in the bad weather.
I’m glad we only got 3in.
This GLK sounds like the perfect vehicle for snowy weather. We live in Northern NH and get snow starting in Nov. and this year will have it on the ground until probably the end of March. We have a bear of a driveway and I have to drive my husbands 4 door 4×4 250 pickup most of the winter and it is so not fun to “park” anywhere because it is soooo long and big. Thanks for these updates on how you like it and how it handles in the snow. We also have 4 children so we need something that will hold all of us.
I have to say that heated seats are the BEST thing ever invented. I even use them in the summer when my husband has to have the air on sooo cold!
Wow. That’s a lot of snow. We got quite a bit with that storm as well, but not a blizzard! Sounds like a good vehicle to drive in the snow!
No snow here in FL but lots of frost…brrr. That SUV would be a nice thing on these cold days.
I’m not sure being able to drive through snow would be an important feature for us since we live in Florida, but it’s great that it’s great that it holds up in such bad weather.
It’s great that the GLK handled itself in the snowy weather!
That is a serious storm! Wow…the GLK looks amazing! Please count me in the giveaway!
chrissoolee@yahoo.com
You’ve been having a lot of fun with the GLK. Might be hard to return it in a couple days!!
Wow – That’s just crazy! Thanks again!
Ok, I’ll stop complaining about the 32 degree weather we’re having here in FL
Blizzard day! Glad the GLK took good care of your DH!!
“Boys” and their toys! Sounds like a wonderful SUV.
Heated seats is a definite must have in any car that I drive! I can’t wait to test drive this SUV!
Wow! That’s a lot of snow! Glad you guys are safe!
Driving the kids around would be so much more enjoyable in one of these babies!
Wow, definitely sounds like a vehicle I’d want in a blizzard!
Enjoy the fresh blanket of clean snow! We are buried in it as well.
Ooooh, heated seats… Thanks for another chance to win!
$50 would be fun to spend on something to spruce up the wardrobe. Just feeling the blah of winter!
Looks to be a all around great car.
I love me some heated seats!
Thanks for the offer!
That’s pretty darn impressive, I know my van wouldn’t have made it past the driveway! I thought we had some storms here in Ohio, but we don’t even come close:) Thanks for the video!
That’s interesting that it drives like a car but still holds as much as your wagon. What a great time to be able to drive a car that is not your own!
Mercedes timed it just right. It looks like you have put it through a rigorous test! switchlaser@gmail.com
Count me in! Thanks.
Looks awesome!
Thanks!
The all wheel drive and ground clearance are two of the main things that we will be looking for in our next vehicle. Of course, we probably won’t be buying for another 2-3 years so the GLK should have a decent track record by then but from what I’ve seen from Mercedes, in the media and through reviews like yours it looks like a very nice and well built vehicle.
Thanks for the continued review and I’m glad your husband had no problems in the snow with the GLK.
Courtenay
I loved the video, my daughter would be so jealous of all of that snow, we live in Oklahoma where we don’t get very much snow, mainly ice.
That’s awesome that it made it through the blizzard! I’m in Ft. Worth, TX so we don’t have that problem. But I bet it would rise to the occasion in one of our random ice storms! Thanks for the chance to win!
Impressive.
That’s awesome that your husband was able to travel in the GLK with no trouble in that kind of weather. I am glad had a safe trip to work and you are right when it comes to boys, they will do all kind of things, like make a parking place.
I wish it would snow like that where I am!
That’s amazing! I wouldn’t (couldn’t!) take my car out in six inches of snow.
It looks like such a nice vehicle, I love SUV’s b/c I live in Chicago area where we have horrible winters! Thank you for the info
Wow, I think this vehicle is so valuable because you never know when you will have an emergency and getting around in heavy snow can be difficult otherwise. The heated seats must be nice too!
Heated seats truely are a wonderful thing in our cold winters…
That is awesome! We never get snow here in SC!
What perfect timing to have such a vehicle at your disposal. Snow, watch out for the GLK!
Wow! Sure sounds like a great vehicle. Please enter me to win!
OK. Know I need one! LOL
Thanks so much for the opportunity to win a giftcard!
we dont get snow often in LA, but being able to drive safely with hurricane winds is important. I’m going to look up the wind handling now….
I remember those snow days growing up in the North East! Unfortunately, it didn’t matter what car we had we could never get out cause we lived on a dead end street! But, MAYBE this one could do the trick!
Very impressive! You’re making me love this car a little more each day.
This sounds like a very nice car. It is nice to read how a real family uses a car like this. That day with the blizzard, my husbands car slid off the road. I look forward to your next post on the car.
Oh – heated seats! That would be wonderful!
bbrrr…. I live in the deep south, and I can’t imagine all that snow! I wonder how well it would handle the torrential rain storms that we have around here.
Stay true to the Subaru! My Forrester has heated seats and I am in love with them!
IT MADE IT OVER THE DRIVEWAY BURM! Sign me up! I have gotten hung up at the end of my own driveway more than I will admit.
I’m the first one to leave a comment?, that’s cool!
This is really great! I like this GLK! More recently I was thinking we would have to purchase two vehicles but this SUV by Mercedes just may satistify the both of us. Thanks for this blog.
since mine has been in the shop all week it is time to start looking
This could buy groceries.
Wow! Quite a blizzard.
My husband totally would have made his own parking spot too. Boys and their toys
Very impressive — the more I read your blog about this vehicle the more I want to drive one
That is too cool – hope you enjoy it while you have it!
$50 could really help.
Thats great that the GLK can drive through blizzards. Being from Colorado, I have gotten my 4WD stuck in snow all the time. It would be nice to be able to rely on a car when blizzards arrive.
Wow! What a great car! I live in KY and it was really bad when the storm hit. We couldn’t get the cars out of the drive way! Then our pipes froze, trees fell all over, and we lost our electricity for a couple of days. Thank God we were able to finally get the cars out and head over to my moms!Hope everyone else is doing ok.
I don’t like to drive buses. Yeah for Mercedes.
I’ve never heard of a Mercedes GLK – though many of our neighbors drive Mercedes, I haven’t notices the model – now I’ll be on the lookout for them! We could have used one last week in our ‘inclement’ weather! I wonder how they would do in Northern Ontario Canada where my parents live!
I would love to have that car for my winter driving!
Awesome weather you’re having. Really makes you want to get away, huh! Atleast you have a good vehicle for driving in it.
Thanks!
wow! we get a lot of ice in our area and i bet the GLK would handle great in that too!
Great reviews! Sorry to hear about your bad weather, though! What are the chances they just GIVE you a GLK at the end of this?! Wouldn’t that be nice???
Sounds good. I’m in. Good luck everyone!
I love the Nercedes! Thanks for the giveaway
sherri
I love your story. I would ever have to deal with snow. I live in Texas ! !
That’s amazing! I just moved from Boston and I remember those wonderful snow storms and digging yourself out of your house!
lucky you
You are so lucky! I work for a vehicle dealer association and I don’t even get a special discount on a car, let alone a week-long test drive. I am so jealous
Looks like it has a lot of space.
I use to live in North Dakota so i know where your coming from…the heated seats are a godsent tho!
Good Luck!!
I love the sound of walking on fresh snow.
I think I’m starting to warm up to it too!! I will definitely have to keep my eye open for one of these in a few years, hopefully when the price has dropped some!
I must admit, I do NOT in the slightest envy all your snow
wow… what a brace guy husband is… and the car held up well
Sweet, I would love to win. Great giveaway.
Boys are ridiculous! They think they’re invincible. I’m so glad he made it around safely!
Looks like a good car to drive here in cold milwaukee.
i would love one in black
Cool Car
Men always find a way! Good luck in the blizzard. And good luck to me
Um, WOW! A blizzard?! I am glad the GLK does well in those conditions. And heated seats are a God-send right now, I’m sure! LOL!
I am glad to not have to drive in snow anymore. Good luck! Sounds like you’re doing just fine though.
Sounds like fun. With my car it is time to stay home on days like that.
Oh, heated seats are so nice. I think I need a new car.
That is sooo cool that it did so well! Awesome. How many people does it seat, as I have a family of six.
Man this car sounds amazing. How many seats is it? You might have said in the first post but I missed.
Glad to hear it handles so well in the snow. Gotta love the heated seats, too!
Awesome giveaway. Thanks!
I dont live in the snow but do live on the beach so I would have different experiences!!!! I still want to move in!!!!
Oh my goodness…I would be SO scared to even drive in the snow….but If the mercedes can survive the snow, I bet it could also survive the surf and sand and salt-water air where I live!
sounds like your hubby had way too much fun!
That would be so great for the horrible weather in Utah!
I could have used that GLK here last week of course I’d be afraid to drive such an expensive vehicle
looks like the GLK is coming in handy right now for you! Thanks for the great giveaways
Are you enjoying the new vehicle?!?!
Heated seats? Wow would love that!
German engineering at it’s best! I guess you really do get what you pay for. Glad he got there and back safe and sound.
Boys just somehow think of things differently, don’t they?
This vehicle looks like it would be great for Northern NH as well. We get snow starting in Nov. and this year will have it until probably late March. Thanks for the info.
Wow- am I the first??
Sounds like a great vehicle to have in a snow-storm! Glad you’re enjoying the test run!!
i am definitely from the south – there is no way i would have been driving in that mess! thanks for the giveaway!
That’s a cool story!
I would love this car, but sadly, it’s totally out of the budget. maybe when i’m rich and famous (ha,ha,ha!).
wow, I live in WI and we have missed all of this snow. Sorry guys!
I’m not sure what I’m most impressed with…How it handled in the snow or the heated seats!LOL!
sblilly14(@)yahoo(.)com
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your ride
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your American ride
I hope I win!
mccataquet@yahoo.com
This vehicle sounds like a total wonder!!!
It’s hard for me in California with just a little rain and temps in the 60’s to even imagine your snow and blizzards today. Maybe I need to appreciate my weather a bit more instead of bemoaning the lack of seasons…which I have been known to do. This car seems to be growing on you! It certainly seems to do the job!!
Thanks for the contest for the Visa card.
I can’t believe how much snow you had. I would love to have a vehicle like that to drive in the snow.
I’m so glad your husband made it to his meeting safe and sound! Now we can breath easy!
Please let us know how the Mercedes weathers the blizzard…
Does it have a step up for us short people?
i love your site
Hope your travels were safe!
Boys will be boys! Glad to hear the husband made it there and back safe!
sounds like a nice car
Instead of my doors freezing, it is my windows that freeze… This has made for some interesting encounters at the bank drive-through lanes and fast food windows. I never know if they are frozen or not until I pull up!
so glad I’m not there & here in warm Texas!!
We don’t deal with snow here in California but we love our fancy cars!!!
I would like to win a gift card! No snow here it is actually warming up a little.
Heated seats are the BEST!
Wow! Not that I have to deal with blizzards, or even snow for that matter, but the MLK does handle snow impressively.
Wow! I hate driving in snow! What a treat to drive the GLK in those conditions – I mean if you have to be some place!
I would love to be able to get around without difficulty in the snow! You have to be loving that!
We definitely need a vehicle that can handle blizzard conditions where we live!
The more I read about the GLK, the more I think there may be one in my future after all.
good looking and practical too- looks like a fatastic vehicle!!!
My husband would have done the same thing in the parking lot! Boys!:-)
Heated seats!! I could definitely get used to that.
This Mercedes sounds like a dream, I’m already checking into it online!!
Mercedes GLK are the best! What luxury! What ease of driving! If I would have driven this car 33 years ago, I might not have failed my driver’s license test drive. Am I driving this car or is it gliding on fumes? I can barely hear the motor, it is so peacefully smooth. Now, if only my husband were so quiet…
Wow! Sounds like a great bad weather car!
I want this car!!!
Thanks for the give away. Have fun cruising around town!
Wow – Impressive handling in the snow! I don’t envy you right now even though I LOVE the snow!!!
As I said before, my mom has something similar from Mercedes and it is a DREAM in the snow. Love these cars. And I’m glad your hubby got into work safely.
Bbrrr, that video makes me cold just by watching it! I’m glad your husband made it around safe.
ENJOY IT!! SHOLLAND004@CINCI.RR.COM
Sounds like he is having so much fun.
What a great giveaway!!
Wow, that is a crazy video, my parents live in Elkhart I didn’t realize there was that much snow! Sounds like a neat car, love how the Mercedes emblem was left uncovered by the snow! haha!
Nice car for winter… Yum! It makes me want one.
Just found this, so will miss out on a couple of days. But I do have an excuse. Have been away from the computer being at the hospital where my first great grandchild was born. About the car, always have known that Mercedes had a reputation as a luxury car, but never really thought about its behavior in really nasty weather.
I love my heated seats!
I live in Fl. no snow here! Renae
A blizzard?? You poor things! We thought we had it bad when we saw an inch of snow last week.
Is this a 4WD or AWD? We just bought a Chevy Trailblazer with 4WD and it gets around great. I’m not sure how it would handle in a blizzard though. That’s reassuring to hear your hubby made it with no problems!
I would love to win!!
Wow! I can’t believe he went out in that. And I can’t believe there was anyone else there to have a meeting with!! We live in Florida so I totally can’t relate.
What a video. Seems like a well built auto. Please keep us informed on how it went. Thanks
Starting to get a little jealous over here.
1st to leave a comment eeh? It looks like this car is a pretty sweet ride!
OMG woman! How do you live in that???
I loved living in N IN for the short time I did, but when I see pics like this it makes me glad I moved back south!
You are braver than I!
Heated seats are definitely an idea whose time has come! I’m glad your husband got there safely with such crazy road conditions!
Thanks for the generous giveaway! I’m enjoying reading about the Mercedes, it is my favorite brand of car.
oinkmoobaa (at) yahoo (.) com
We don’t see much snow in Memphis, but we do get cold weather…and those heated seats sound awesome!
Wow! Germany engineering at it’s finest and most practical! I’m more impressed each and every day.
I can relate to the snowstorm; we’ve had so much of it lately I am frankly sick of it. Nice to hear that the new Merc handles well.
I’m so glad there’s no blizzard in Minnesota. Ugh.
We have been looking for a car that would be good in the Iowa snow. Thanks for sharing!
Can you adjust the heat on the heated seats? My Mom’s Lincoln has heated seats but they only have two settings – off and light your butt on fire.
Dang, that’s a lotta snow! Glad your hubby made it to the mtg. – and back- safely. So is there anything wrong w/ the GLK?? Sounds absolutely perfect. Here’s a question: are the heated seats only in the front?? (not that I plan on being a passenger in the back of a new Mercedes – I’d want to drive it!
)
We are a bit chilly here in South Florida, but thankfully NO SNOW!
It would do wonderful around here then, because we get quite a bit of snow during winter. Thank goodness you husband made it the meeting safely!
I’m glad the GLK got your husband to his meeting safely!
That’s great!
I live in Arizona, so don’t see much snow unless we go up North towards Flagstaff. We do have occaisional flash floods that people try to drive through. Boys!
The only way tobrave a blizzard
I think your husband is getting to drive that car way too much. I used to live in chicago, I know what winter can be like. awesome performing car.
If it snows in Alabama it is a major thing. I wish we would get a little this year.
Wow, this series is making me want to add the GLK to my NEED list, rather than just my WANT list- we need a vehicle to drive in the snow! Ok, maybe that’s just an excuse
Living in Upstate New York I can so relate to needing a car that can go in a snowstorm.
We have snow here but only in the mountains right to the north of us.
I wish I had one of these in December here in WI!
I hope I’m never in weather cold enough to want heated seats!
Oh gosh, it sounds heavenly.
Sounds like it’s a good car to have in the blizzard!
Wow! I hope it’s me
i am so over this winter! luckily we haven’t gotten much, so my little car made it so far.
I love that video, but darn if I am not happy to be in VA without the white stuff right now. Brrrr….and double Brrrr. PS If my BMW even thinks it’s going to snow it won’t go anywhere.
Geez your driveway looked like mine did a week
ago~! lol Living In Maine we have a lot of them days. I should of bought a Mercedes GLK (kinda like I should of bought a V-8) lol My Neon never would of made it out of the driveway. I have white knuckles by the time I get to work from gripping the steering wheel so hard. Oh how heated seats would be cherished here~! Thanks for the winter driving review. Does it have a remote car starter too!?!
Where I live we get ice storms! Nice to know this IS a safe car!
sounds like a grat car–we hsvr no snow yet here in north georiga except for a reaally cccooolllddd winter–maybe I should consider going to see this model –if I ever get the time to actually go to the dealer–lol
maria
A winterwonder blizzard land. It must be freezing cold. At least you have a great car though. No skids hopefully.
Count me in!!
Ya, hats off to ALL of you who endure such crazy winters!
Heated seats sound wonderful for a winter day spent being a taxi driver for my kids.
I love your site.
I can relate to the cold weather and snow. We’ve been having a lot here in CT. I love the heated seats in my minivan so it’s nice to know the GLK has them.
Once you have heated seats it is so hard to make it through the winter without… Thanks for giving us a chance to win!
I like the interior. I wish it had a bigger backseat…
i would looove to win gift card!!
LOL! I love your humor!! Boys will be boys:-)
Thanks for another chance to win!
Although we occasionaly get snow in Kansas City , we get nowhere near that!
it snows 2″ and everyone here in Louisville freaks out…waist deep snow?!
Thanks for the give away. Have fun cruising around town!
We’ve had a ton of snow where I am too!
For our next car, I keep thinking minivan but my husband is set on an SUV for the snowy reasons you’ve mentioned.
Here in Michigan, we’re no stranger to LOTS of snow.
I’m a Florida girl, send some now my way…pretty please..
What an adventure! I’m glad he was okay in spite of the weather!
Heated seats! They do exist! Enjoy!!!
ok as a Midwesterner i am getting really excited about ur postings & this darn car.
This is a really handy automobile
I’m so jealous of the heated seats!
heated seats how cool
Sounds like a great all-weather vehicle.
Great giveaway! Have fun in the snow!
Wow. I am so excited about this give away!
WOW !!! The snow is beautiful, but not fun to drive in.
I have been being so good – no car payment at the moment and saving for a new one. But I am sooooo tempted right now. Thank God it
s not snowing here this weekend or I would be gone.
We moved from IN to GA 6 months ago…I remember those blizzards and have to say that I am glad that I’m not in them anymore!
looks like a great car. ashleealex@gmail.com
I miss that crackling sound of the snow underfoot!! The heated seats sound wonderful. It’s beginning to sound like you might be buying one of these…
Very nice! Any car that’s safe in the snow is good.
I’m thinking of Spring !
Purty!
WE JUST WENT THROW AN ICE STORM IN ARKANSAS. I NEEDED THAT CAR. WE WERE WITHOUT POWER 4 DAYS. IT WAS 38 DEGREES IN THE HOUSE. BURRRRRRRRR. I WOULD OF GOT IN MY CAR AND WENT DRIVING TO STAY WARM. AND CHARGE MY CELL PHONE. LOL
I love heated seats! its so cool
Men and their toys, why shovel when you can make tracks, is what my husband would say.
WOW thanks!
Wow! A car that’s safe to drive in a blizzard! That’s impressive.
Oh no! No built in, outside ice defroster?!? There’s a suggestion for you!
That’s impressive!
My hubbie would soooo be making his own parking spot, too! That’s hilarious! We are moving back to Wisconsin at the end of February. I would love to have a car that would handle well in all that snow!
Wow, definitely sounds like a vehicle I’d want in a blizzard!
As much as I don not like snow and hope that we can survive without too much more this winter it would be nice to have a car that handles the snow as well as this one does!
Fresh fallen snow is beautiful, though.
The GLK looks amazing! You seemed to have some great weather conditions to try this car out in! Great for testing that is, not for you.
Great post! My hubby would make his own parking spot too!
I love heated seats!
How exciting…makes me wanna run out and buy one. My Escape is ok, but I love Mercedes!
I just love giveaways!!! yeah!
That’s sounds like an exciting drive to work!! I am kindof jealous though! Here in Alabama we don’t ever see snow. I would love to come visit and let my kids play in the snow!!! LOl
I have lots of things I want to do to improve my home.
Warm thoughts your way.
Living in MN, this kind of handling from a car would come in handy for our 6 month winters!!
WOW- that is awesome! You’re both going to need to get one! lol
What a car!!!!!
With the snow in PA. a MERCEDES SUV would be a dream.
Wow, sure wish I had that much snow, sounds fun!
Ha… Looks like a winter day in Minnesota… Just like home. Drive careful
Hope you had safe travels with all that snow!
I think you got to test drive the SUV at a perfect time!!
Heated seats are wonderful especially when you live up north.
Snow, snow go away!
Wow, that must have been an awesome feeling for your husband! We live in an area where when we get an average winter there are many snowey and icey days. This car sounds like it could handle it, but it is waaaaaay out of my budget. Right now I can only afford the hot wheels version of it! Enjoy your time with this awesome car!
Great video…although I’m tired of winter!
Im glad if it does snow here it usually doesnt stick but we did get 3 inches about a month ago. I wish you luck.
I hate driving in the snow. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad with a good car.
I like the idea of sitting “higher up” and seeing what’s going on around below!
I miss having an SUV in the snow! Although all-wheel drive is pretty good too. Sounds like you got to test drive this car at the perfect time of year!
We should have snow on our mountains today after all the rain!
Great car, Great gift card
That is so cool!!!
I have never been to the snow. I’m 28 and use to live 45 minutes away and have never been!
I can so picture my husband in that same situation with all the manly confidence of the snow
What a great vehicle!!
We have snow in MI…..that will melt today..heatwave. Looking for Spring. Thanks for the chance at the give away.
you get snow like us lol im in the white mountains i may just have to concider getting one of these cars for me i hate driving in snow
I miss the sound fresh snow makes! Being in SC we dont see snow very often and when we do its flurries that dont stick! But being from Illinois I can empathize!
I wished we would have one good snow like that in Tennessee.
It’s even nice looking covered in snow!!
Tired of snow!
love in the car
We had a recent unexpected storm, too! Just be very careful driving.
The GLK sounds fun to drive. =)
I love my Subaru too but this GLK sounds really, really spectacular. Thanks for the chance to win the gift card!
Man, you’re going to get me hooked. We’re saving right now for a “bigger” vehicle for when we have our third child. Sounds great!!
Look like a great car. I like how it has the dvd in it. It would keep the kids quite for a while and I wouldn’t be so stressed when we are driving.
We get about 3 in. of snow at a time and it melts. Except about every 5 years and we get a whopper. No one here knows how to drive in it. What a mess we have!!!!
We get alot of snow where I live as well, so it’s great that you were able to test it out in those extreme conditions.
Who wouldn’t want to win $50?
I hate hearing when people get stranded or in accidents due to the weather…especially cause you can’t do much to prevent it…unless it’s driving on of those!! WOW!
I’d love heated seats!
As a fellow midwest gal, your video made my day. Oh, how I have been there!
I hate driving in the snow!
I soooo want heated seats, but summer will do to!! I would love to have that car….
The snow looks like fun but I guess I’ll have to be content with the warm spring-like weather here in south Ga.
Wow! I live in Texas, so I’ve never seen snow like that! But that’s amazing that it made it through that much snow!
Boys will be boys. Gotta love them. Sounds like something my boyfriend would do.
Thanks for a great give-a-way, Hope I win!
What a great testimonial!
LOVE the heated seats…. Mmmmmm, Toasty!
I’d love to be included in the giveaway. This vehicle is perfect for our winters!
This car is awesome. I would love to have a vehicle like this!
Royal car! I wish I win this gift card.
Wow, impressive! Since I live in Ohio, I understand exactly what your hubby went through to get to work. This vehicle seems perfect!
heated seats sound wonderful!
I live in New England and I have been calling this “the winter that never ends”. The snow, the ice, the heating bills! Ugh! At least having a Mercedes would ease the pain a bit.
WOW! You guys are buried in the white stuff! Sounds like a great car for trekking, though! This has been interesting to follow!
Oh wouldn’t it be wonderful to drive thru the snow in a Mercedes?
Heated seats! That is the best!
SOunds like a car i’d like to have!
Sign me up for this one too:)
I live in NC and hope spring arrives soon! Tomorrow its gonna be 70 here!!!!
I wouldn’t buy another vehicle without heated seats. They are wonderful.
I would love to win this.
I wonder if the Mercedes people knew how much of a test drive this car would be getting?! (And, why wasn’t the out-of-town meeting cancelled?!?!)
I’m glad i’m where it’s warm. That looks sooooo cold.
Bon Appetite! A Mercedes Popsicle!
Heated seats rock LOL, but truly handling well in blizzards would have been really helpful last week here in KY. I bet you all really have had fun with these test-drives!
Oh man, My husband and I are laughing. We can’t imagine driving in that snow. We are cold in Florida when it hits 30’s!! I am impressed that the car handled so well!
Boys will be boys. Sound just like my husband.
Wow! That is a lot of snow! Go GLK!
Thanks for the giveaway,
Great give away! And I am glad that your husband had such a good car to take out in that weather!!
Are you spoiled yet? It sounds like you and your husband are really putting this car to the test and so far, it looks like a winner especially in the snow!!
LOL did Mercedes somehow talk Mother Nature into sending you a blizzard just to test out the capabilities of the GLK? If so, they have my utmost respect. Even more so for the ability to make a vehicle that can actually stand up to those conditions. I could have used one of those here, in Missouri, about a week ago. We couldn’t get out for 4 days. Heated seats? That sounds like a massage compared to the standard non-heated seats I have in my own car. Sign me up for the gift card on this one as well. Looking forward to the next read.
excellent!! Snow was melting in NE Ohio today!!!
I don’t miss those snows up north! Still, it would be nice to get through anything even here in KY.
Oh How this makes me miss the snow in Oregon!!
Thanks for the giveaway I sure could use it!

It’s a good thing he had the GLK on this day!!!! I could have used this car last week when it snowed and I could not get out of my driveway :O)
Wow, I’m glad the car didn’t have any trouble going through all that snow.
I live in SAN DIEGO….and thank the lord!!
I love my heated seats that I have now. I wouldn’t get another car without them. In the winter there’s nothing that feels better
Hi! Just linked here from The Inspired Room. Great blog-and yay! love the links to cookin’ up good stuff from Aldis.
Well, you made it through the white and drifting snow. Now, after yesterday’s Big Thaw you just might see how she performs through high waters, lol!
Heated seats! I’ld be in heaven on a cold morning.
So are you doing to switch out the Subaru for a Mercedes? It seems like a good trade
Just bought a Jeep but this is COOL too!
Thank goodness he didn’t get stranded. Sounds like the car works great!
Oh my. Wish i had one of those this winter!
Even in FL that well might be my next car. Thanks for the information, brings back memories.
Thank you for another chance to win! The car is awesome.
Great giveaway – love a car that’s good in the snow, and this one’s stylish, too!
MMMMM, boys will be boys. Next thing you know, he will want a plow on the front.
I can’t believe your husband still had to go to work on a day like that. Then again, I work at a school, so if kids can’t go to school, no else has to either!
my husband would have done the same thing. He is from Austria and thinks our snow is silly at times. Esp. when school is canceled for 1-2 feet of snow. Sounds like a great car so far.
It is very impressive.
Heated seats! Niceeeee…
Aww heated seats-adding that to my list!
Those heated seats were definitely a plus! WOW!!
Glad to hear all the info about the GLK…… glad its been helpful to you and your family.
This is so exciting…living vicariously through you! I love it.
I’ve just seen the commercial on tv about this car too. Really snazzy!
Oh I so want Heated seats!
I love my Subaru too… but sometimes it really does pay to be higher up…

I would love to have one of these SUV’s for the Minnesota winters.
i love snow!
I am pretty impressesed……love that it keeps your tootsies warm………
So glad you were riding in comfort on the snowy days…and Heated seats… your the cats ” meow “….
That is 2 funny. That’s something my hubby would do find the biggest snow pile and pull into it knowing that he could get out.. Have to love the those heated seats.. Glad your enjoying your ride..
I love your website!
This is a great offer!!!all the best to everyone..
This does look like a cool car. I like my car, but like anyone else here wouldn’t mind a new one lol.
heated seats?!? that sure would make leaving on a cold morning a bit easier.
I loved the video and your hubby’s heavy breathing while trying to video. I remember those days from my life up north. I moved south!
Oh man! I’m wanting one of these more all the time! My minivan is horrible in snow. I have to creep along and just hope for the best.
our car has heated seats. i know how cozy it feels.
Pick Me!
Thanks for sharing. This GLK is looking better and better!
Thanks for the giveaways!
Great features – we live in the snowy northwest so it’s nice to see what vehicles would hold up. Thanks for the chance. iclipalso(at)yahoo(dot)com
Heated seats, I would love toasted buns on those cold days.
Sounds like this car was made for winter weather!
Being a hoosier myself, I love that it sounds like this car can handle the weather. We have a Honda CRV w/over 200,000 miles that I love for it’s all-wheel drive and the fact that it sits a bit higher than a car. Enjoy your test-driving!
Thanks for the chance to enter!
oooo….heated seats sound wonderful.
Great car, lots of features. Love the Visa offer. I love that you can use it any where. Thanks.
Wow! That’s more snow than we get here in Arizona, but I would still love to drive such a great car when we do get snow. I really like the idea of heated seats! Thank you for entering me to win!
I have been laid off and could really use the gift card!
i wish i had snow here
All the comforts of home! Thanks for the oppurtunity to win some dough,
Kathleen
WOW! I’ve never seen that much snow! Love the windshield wipers all standing up… never would have thought of that.
The two or three times a year it gets below freezing here, we always forget and try to get the ice off our windshields by squiring the stuff. Duh.
Wow, heated seats! My behind would appreciate that.
This car sounds like a fairy tale. It can make it through anything! Fun for you to have it.
Oh wow, I think the car would be worth the money if I lived in the kind of weather that you do! Thank you for the giveaway.
I want more snow! Really enjoying following along with your family and the adventures of the GLK…THANKS for the opportunity to win!
Melissa
I love heated seats! I need to keep my tooshie warm.
Our driveway was like that a few weeks ago. Needless to say my little Civic was stuck.
I can so see my hubby braving the snow in that vehicle, actually, I could see me dragging the kids out if I had it too!
That “little bit higher up but not like driving a school bus” is why I love my Mitsubishi Outlander…I mean, my old Honda Accord was great in the slippery but just that little bit higher up and AWD rocks!
This car sounds wonderful especially in the cold North.
mmmm heated seats! I hope some of the sunshine we are having today heads your way!
I wish you could have some good snow like that in Washington!
Heated seats can do that to you!
Heated seats and that kind of all-weather robustness – now that’s commendable! Kudos Mercedes!
Where do you live?! I thought the snow was bad here in Michigan.
Texas drivers are the worst – I need this car just to manuever through normal traffic and not just with bad weather!
I would love to see that much snow again!! my husband used to live in Maine and absolutely loved that much snow and I sure could see him driving in that parking lot and say heck with all you people I am going to have some fun and see what this GLK can really do for me! I have a Rav4 and he insisted on heated seats in this car even though it is mine.
I LOVE gift cards and you cannot beat a gift card you can use anywhere Visa is accepted.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Heated seats, they make heated seats?
Wow, I can’t imagine driving in that much snow!
Sounds like he’s having fun with this. But when is it YOUR turn to drive???
If it snowed like that here (Atlanta), we would be in trouble.
don’t you just love the snow in Northern Indiana!
I live in the south, and I still love the idea of heated seats! Toasty!
Glad it can handle the weather!
Such a cool car!
Ok – awesome.
Sounds like a rough day. I am glad everyone is safe!
How fabulous that it mastered the deep, deep snow like a trooper! That is so very comforting and reassuring to know. Who wouldn’t want a marvelous vehicle like this one?
WOW, snow. How fun for you. @independentmami I would love to win a giftcard
Heated seats are the best! We have them in our vehicle, but unfortunately I never get to take advantage since I currently ride in back with our baby and they’re only in the front seats!
Sounds like a great vehicle.
Nice Car!
We don’t get snow in south Texas, but I’m sure it’s got nice AC, too.
Wow! Weather sounds bad!
Wow alot of snow but I’m use to that I’m originally from Maine so I know how that is! But thats awesome that car seems like its very good in snow good to know!
Wow! I love cars that can handle snow and feel really safe. It’s nice to know you are in control even if the roads are bad.
The frozen front door cracks me up! Our metal storm door does the same thing everytime the wind blows on it in the winter!
thanks for another great giveaway, Amy!
Definately a nice car! Thanks!
It’s nice to know about it’s performance in the snow.
Love Gift Cards!
I currently live in Atlanta, GA, but spent 23 years of my life in Iowa…so I know snow. As crazy as it may sound, I kinda miss days like that. I’ve been here for 5 years now, and haven’t had more than a dusting of snow. I would love to show my son what real snow is.
We have a lot of ice around here.
Ooh, heated seats. Would love to have those!
have wanted heated seat. would love to win a heated seat car.
I love my heated seats and heated mirrors. Thanks
If I got to have a Mercedes I’d feel like I have “finally arrived.”
Wonder how much it costs for routine maintenance.
I got the same snowstorm. My little truck was awful! Oh, what I’d give for heated seats!
You got a lot of snow! I am surprised the car did so well!
The durability of a Mercedes has always been on my mind. This just proves it again with the new GLK and your snowstorm test.
I can’t believe you have to deal with that extreme weather. I am a California girl. We don’t like it when it rains to long. That was a lot of snow on that car. WOW!
that is the vehicle I need in Northern Illinois
Heated seats in cold weather – I’m so envious.
Wow–I can barely drive in the rain….
There is no feeling like getting to a meeting on time in a blizzard. Count me in! Thanks.
the GLK would be perfect in the winter! my car could never do that! i’m impressed!
what a true test of the vehicle…snow!
