Well, my hubby doesn’t know YET but I will be pampering myself next week with a new hairstyle and also getting my nails done. I think I deserve it! haha
Would love to win this giveaway. I need that toilet paper with three kiddos in the house.
Great giveaway! One special thing I’m doing for myself? Well, my company gives us a 12 day holiday for Christmas & New Years. The kids will be home, but I’m going to take some real downtime and work on my first passion, writing fiction. Nearly done with a movel, but being full WAHM makes it hard to do what I love!
As a homeschooling mom of four, I don’t get much downtime. So I really look forward to and enjoy my nightly bubble bath. It’s my time to relax and unwind. This is one special thing I do for myself everyday.
One special thing I’m doing for myself this holiday season is that I’m getting my hair done at a really nice salon!
My special thing I am doing for myself is that I am giving myself a pass on all the running around and over doing it that I normally do. Since I’m pregnant, I thought I’d take this Christmas off, and not try to worry so much about ‘getting things done’. Instead, I just want to keep it simple, and enjoy spending the holiday with my family.
I am making myself be happier this year. Physically smiling when I don’t feel like it, laughing for no reason. Just making me happy…
Every year we go away to a warm sunny spot and come home on Christmas eve. It makes for a most relaxing holiday!
Aw, man – first commentors never win!
I’ve arranged babysitting (since it’s DaHubby’s finals week) so I can go to Christmas Gala this Friday at a local church where Sue from Praise and Coffee is speaking!
This holiday season, I am finally going to use a gift card to a salon I got last Christmas for a massage. I figured the end of a busy year is perfect, and with a 4 month old, it will some quiet time for me too.
As a single mom, I am happy to forgo gifts in order to be able to give my kids what they want for Christmas. But my mom a ex-mother-in-law emphasized this year that they wanted me to get something for myself with the Christmas money they were sending. So I purchased two items for myself that had been on an online wish list for months. My kids are happy that I’m getting things I want, and their grandmothers will be pleased to know that I honored their wishes.
What a great contest! I am learning to relax more this holiday season. I’m not stressing over every little detail of Christmas. It’s working out, so far.
I am going to treat myself to a mani/pedi, I usually do it right before Christmas each year.
i was away from my family for christmas last year and it just really wasn’t like christmas so this year i am really getting into things. I decorated the outside for the first time ever and have christmas songs playing all the time. I am spending time with my whole family and getting into the spirit for myself this holiday season.
I am not stressing myself over getting the perfect gifts this year. I am giving gift cards instead.
I’m taking a few days off work to knock out some shopping while my sidekick is at school. Might have to swing by Starbucks for a little brew while I’m out.
I’m doing something for myself by NOT doing the holiday things that stress me out – extra shopping, decorating, baking, etc. I’m going to enjoy the holidays!!
I am treating myself to some quiet time after the kids are in bed. I curl on the couch with a blanket ,my cup of tea and a good book….heaven!!
I’m eating out once a week. This may not seem like much, but I’m a stay at home mom and never eat out. I never even buy a soda at the mall. So, as I go out shopping for gifts, I left myself get a lunch out to treat me. I’m carrying around a 2 year old, so I need a little break! Haha.
This year I am allowing myself to cut back on the bustling of the season and just relax.
The one special thing that I am doing for MYSELF this holiday season is go spend a girls day out with my sister, sister-in-law and girlfriends. I’m leaving all 5 kids with their father and taking a day off. I can’t wait!!
Oooooh…I guess I need to give that some more thought. I am getting a much needed haircut…and hopefully a pedicure!!!
I am going to take some time to myself to really relax. I never get the chance to just enjoy a nice, hot bubble bath. I promised myself that I would take more bubble baths and just relax.
I am going to get a massage. I have had a free one for awhile, and I haven’t had the time to do it. So I’m going to TAKE time between now and the 25th to get it done.
xox
I make myself cranberry snack bars and a nice cup of tea. I best tea to go with it is honeydew melon white tea. A good book and I’m set to go.
I’ve scheduled a date to go Christmas shopping with just me and my mom this week – that is the special thing I am doing for me. I am 31 with kids of my own but I still need my mommy!
This holiday season, I am trying to slow down and really enjoy the season. I’ve made a concerted effort not to get caught up in the commercialism of the whole season, and it has made me feel so much better. I’ve taken the time to spend on being creative, rather than shopping…it is the way to go!
I am going to take some time for myself and go to a bookstore, browse some great reads and get a coffee! Sounds like nothing much but I am a single mom of three under 5, 4-5 days a week. It is my dream.
That’s hard thing to do, but I am going to treat myself to my very first pedicure, I hear the spa pedicure is wonderful, maybe I’ll do that!
Fortunately, this month, circumstance has allowed me to become a sahm to my nearly 6mo daughter. It is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I am so grateful to have this time with her while she’s young. Thank you for the giveaway!
My husband and I are sending the kids to grandma’s for a sleep over during the holidays and we are going out for a 24 hour date! I can’t wait.
During this busy holiday season I am making sure that I am taking time to do the hobbies I enjoy, like spinning and knitting. While I am doing some gift knitting, I make sure to make time to work on stuff for me!

I am going to relax more the holiday season. I have an ALL DAY spa appoitment coming up, on me!!
I have really been craving a Lemon Mirengue Pie from a local restaurant and the owner himself makes them homemade. I absolutely love them and if my husband does not get me one for x-mas or my birthday (which is Dec. 30th), then I am treating myself.
This would be fantastic to win!
1 thing that I am doing for ME is sleeping! I always stay up too late trying to get things done. We all know sleep is important and now I am going to get some!
I take time to hunt for coupons. It is actually relaxing.I also knit.
I’ve not done a very good job of taking care of myself lately, but am now making sure I treat myself to something every day- whether it be Starbucks, chocolate, a hot bath, or just a few moments of peace & quiet. I need it! And we really could use all those Scott products in this house of 6!
Steph
This year I am honestly not sure what I am doing for myself. Getting my master bathroom finished is one thing I hope I am able to do for myself.
one thing i do for myself is sit outside on our swing and just enjoy the moment. i love the change of season and the cooler weather is always inviting.

I am going shopping alone for a new Christmas outfit for me. I know that don’t seem like much but i am always getting the kids stuff. A new pretty shirt and pants for me and a alone shopping trip is a special treat.
This holiday, I treated myself to a new set of embroidered towels from Neiman Marcus. I found a great deal online & can’t wait till they arrive.
I recently left the kids with my inlaws for the day so I could finish my Christmas shopping and get a pedicure for our Christmas party! It was heavenly
I am planning on doing a little pampering for myself. I am not sure what, but I am going to try to take an afternoon to myself and get something fun done.
I’m a first time mom to a 10 month old baby, since having him.. I haven’t pampered myself so for the holiday, I will be getting myself a facial and manicure/pedicure! I’m so excited
Oh My! How I would love this and I could really use it! Thank you.
I continue to go for my runs because they make me feel energized and then my favorite watch my little ones enjoy christmas
trying to focus on what is really important in life and just staying calm
As I am a full-time graduate student right now I am not only dealing with the busyness of the holidays but also with finals and final projects. However, I reserve at least thirty minutes a day to sit down with a cup of hot chocolate, a warm blanket, and my laptop to thoroughly enjoy reading my blogs and gleaning creative ideas for my home and family. This time is WONDERFUL!
just going with the flow. it all works out.
Ahh…doing the shopping ALONE!
Every evening I sit with a cup of hot chocolate and read an article or two from a magazine. Sometimes I have only ten minutes, sometimes twenty. Taking a little me time does wonders for all the stress of the holidays.
When I placed an order for bath and body stuff for my sister and daughter, I ordered an extra body wash for myself. On a busy day I’ll take an extra 5 minutes in the shower to scrub down with my favorite scent.
This year, I’m slowing down and taking things easier this Christmas. Not putting pressure on myself to have a “perfect” Christmas is a nice break!
I’m going to get a new haircut this weekend. Boring, I know, but with money being tight since my husband got laid off, little splurges like this are so much more fun!
I try take this time to buy a couple of things for myself while there are such good deals. I have 5 children and as every Mom would do, I always put them first. Just yesterday, I saw a beautiful sweater that I hesitated to buy myself, but the orignal price was $40 and I only paid $10. It really made me feel brand new buying something so pretty for myself and not just wearing sweatshirts and jeans.
Thanks for you giveaway. This would really be an awesome gift to win.
I picked out about half of my own presents…I love to shop but don’t get the opportunity much now that I’m a stay-at-home Mom on a tight budget. Shopping for clothes gives me happiness so being able to shop for my own presents was something nice that I did for myself.
It’s kind of funny how kids change your life…I never thought I’d see the day when I’d be ecstatic if I won toilet paper and paper towels for a year but now my life is so different and a prize like this can really save you a bundle. I wish there were more useful giveaways like this one! Thanks!
Well, I ordered a bunch of books from paperbackswap.com for my kids to give me for Christmas, and I’m giving myself permission to read every day! I have vacation during their time off, and I’m sure we’ll be playing new games and all that, and I’m taking time each day to read some of my new books.
The special thing that I am doing for myself this year is buying gifts for my children and their Dad. He is in the military and will be coming to Ohio to spend Christmas with his girls. This is the best thing that I could ask for this year!
I am going to meet up with my best friend from high school. We lost touch many years ago and have reconnected so I am putting aside some time to go out for a leasurely lunch and afternoon out with my friend.
first off, great giveaway!!! and for myself this year i’m getting a pedi before a long weekend with my hubby!!! first time away since my toddler was born. thanks again for such a great giveaway!!!
The most special thing for me is that my husband and I are only buying for our daughter…. Since money is tight, it is taking away the stress of figuring out something for the man who wants nothing…. And we will have the joy of seeing our 2 year old at Christmas!
I rented a movie and made hot chocolate this weekend to relax : )
I am getting my hair done and nails done for the holidays my husband has a birthday on the 31st so I will be ready for his special day.
Trying to take much needed walk everyday is how I have planned to take time for myself. I enjoy getting outside and walking helps me release tension and feel renewed.
I using half of my company’s Christmas bonus I am getting to buy myself a deep freezer. But I am being good, the other 1/2 goes to debt.
I’m a full time student and stay at home mom so finding any “me” time is impossible. But in honor of all my hard work and that we were able to stay on budget and pay off all of our credit cards….I am getting my hair done. I’m so excited! I haven’t even had a hair cut in 2 years….yikes!

I’m planning on taking my oldest son (age 6) with me to Borders – he’s old enough to browse the kids books with me – and then we’ll use a coupon to buy a yummy hot chocolate and big cookie. Since I have 3 kids this will be pampering for me – to be able to spend time with just one doing something we both enjoy!
I am sleeping in every morning – no more getting up before the sun comes up!!!
Buying yarn to knit MYSELF a sweater… finally something for me!
I love the Scott tip about writing your shopping list on an envelope and putting your coupons inside. My coupons are always flying all over the place. For myself, I’m getting things done early so I can really enjoy the holiday with my family.
I’m slowing down and learning to say no very politely.
We are participating in Parent’s Night Out at my daughter’s school, and hubby and I are goinig out for a nice dinner — just the two of us.
I’m a busy mom of 5 but I always take at least a half an hour at the end of each evening to read or take a bubble bath to unwind before bed. I need that time to rejuvenate for the next crazy day.
I will add a few books for myself into my cart when shopping for my son today!
since Christmas is on a Thursday this year, I’m taking Friday off to get some me time. I plan to see a movie, take a nap, and watch some tv.

I am going to surprise my hubby with a night away two days after Christmas. We have 3 children and it will be just the break we will need.
I’m going to some tanning sessions—more to get “happy light” vs color. Northern Wisconsin is COLD and the heat feels awesome! If I can’t vacation on a tropical beach, I can at least dream it
)
Great giveaway! I am going to relax more and start sleeping to 8am instead of waking up at 6am with my son.
I’m trying hard this year to be less stressed and more positive about the holidays. So far it’s working!
I hope to get my hair done as well as sleep in at least one day!!!
Instead of jam-packing activities into every night, I quit at about 10:30 p.m., sit back and enjoy a cup of chai latte under a warm blanket. As tempting as it is to continue writing out Christmas cards, clip coupons and schedule shopping stops, I just need a few moments to myself.
I am asking my husband to keep the baby while I sleep late one morning. Just one…that’s all I ask!
I really enjoy making time for date nights my husband and i work oppposite schedules so when we get to spend a night together i make it very special…that is what i love to do is help my self have alone time with him and by myself!!
Taking time out for peace, quiet and a little meditation.
One thing I will be doing for myself is using time management to get everything ready (already purchased most gifts, still need to wrap, bake and freeze some things) ahead of time so I am not rushing around like a mad woman. By doing this, I can also sneak in a pedicure a few days before Christmas
!!
Great giveaway! I plan to get a new haricut. I have a 2 month old and a 16 month old, so a short, new style will be great since I have little time for myself anymore:-)
I’ve taken a bubble bath each time I finish someone/a family on my list.
Hmm once the musical I’m starring in is over next week, I plan to get a real haircut. I haven’t been in a salon since high school!
I am calling a stop to the madness of Christmas commercialism and just ENJOYING my family! We’re doing a lot of cooking (my favorite hobby) but saying no to the over-the-top decorations, shopping marathons, etc. of previous years. I’m much less stressed and happier.
I am going to take a few extra days off from work, but still send the kids to daycare. I’m paying for it anyway, and I could use the time to myself as a treat!
This holiday season I found a second hand treadmill and will be running EVERY DAY. No more gaining 10 pounds over the holiday season!
we really have zero extra money this year, but i think i may just go ahead and get my hair cut! it has been over 6 months since the last one!
I am taking a couple extra days off around the holidays to spend with my husband and kids! We don’t get much time that we can spend just us. I can’t wait!
The one special thing I’m doing for myself this year is probably just to buy a Christmas outfit, we don’t really have the money to buy anything expensive but I will get something at a descent price just because I want to look nice this year.
taking a nap when I can.
I’m planning on going out to a nice restaurant with my husband and NO kids!
I plan to get my hair done next week (just before our family Christmas pictures) – I don’t think I’ve done this since just after my daughter was born…maybe 6 months ago??
I am handing my kids off on my husband practically all weekend long from now until the end of the year! I have been so busy shopping, and planning christmas parties, birthdays, my anniversary, new years…… it can get pretty hectic. I do love to shop, just not with the kiddos, so for the weekends in December, they are stuck with dad. I can walk without a stroller, or with someone having a meltdown, etc.!
One special thing I am doing for myself is finding some alone time to spend with God. There’s something special about the early morning hours. Something I’m doing for a friend, is having Christmas dinner at my house for her since she’s unable to be with her family. Although it looks like I’m doing this for her, it’s actually for me because she’s my best friend! It’s a gift to be able to spend time with those I love!
going to just enjoy the grandkids without the running around and tell them stories about my mom.(1st without her) and RELAX..No school for me for 3 weeks.
For myself? Giving. Its too much fun. December is the one month I blow the budget and give to who, what and wherever I can find something fun to do.
I am planning a night out with my husband to go see the Musical White Christmas. This is great because we never get to go out without the kids.
Hmm. I guess I need to think of something to do to pamper myself. Probably giving myself time to read a good book at night when the kids are in bed!
I started working out and trying to lose weight during the holidays. It has helped put me first and get a jump and good start on the new year.
While I am out running errands, I am allowing myself to stop for a latte. When I was working, I got one once a week. Now that I am a SAHM, I never indulge in this luxury. So, I am treating myself every once in a while this holiday season. (But sugar-free with skim milk to make it more weight-friendly!) Yum!
This is our last holiday season without children so I am trying to sit back and relax and am forgoing a lot of traditions for the year. So next year they will feel new again.
I am starting a new fitness program to get off the few pounds that hung on after baby.
I am giving myself the gift of time this Christmas…..time for myself, time for my children, and time for my grandsons. I couldn’t ask for a better gift!!
I just got my hair done in time to have a baby-so I will be forced to take some time off during the holiday season. It will be nice to have some time off with my family!
Just been laid off and feeling the blues. I went got some bath bubbles and soaked in the tub for a hour. Was great no one to bug me. All are at work
I bought myself 2 new outfits. Of course, they were on sale and I a coupon to get an additonal 20% off. That is my treat for myself this year.
I am speaking, singing, and performing drama at 5 Ladies Christmas Teas. So one thing that I do to make sure I feel good about myself is I make time to get my nails and my hair done a couple of days before the first event. Then those two weeks I am ready to give and encourage other women.
I bought myself a new pair of shoes…they were on sale so I feel a little better about it but I’ve been looking at these shoes for a while now!
I just got a great new haircut! Definitely makes me feel ready for all of the photos that will be snapped over the holidays!
My husband watches the kids in the morning and he lets me sleep in. It keeps me energized for the rest of the day.
Janell
would be very nice to win this one..
I am trying really hard to not sweat the small stuff this year. I am giving myself the right to slow down and concentrate on the things that matter this holiday season…making sure my family spends time with each other and that I provide as much magic for my son as possilbe before he no longer believes. Hot chocolate always helps too!
I haven’t spent any money on myself (from buying clothes to entertainment to dining out) for the past 5 months because I have been saving up for my study abroad trip to China. For this accomplishment (or endurance?), I will be rewarding myself this holiday season by getting some new books to read. Reading is my greatest pleasure and I am anxious to finish a few series!
I have to buy my own Christmas presents. My husband tries but it is easier not to build up my hopes too much. He doesn’t do well with hints throughout the year either. He is getting me a new I-pod and the entire Buffy the Vampire Slayer series on DVD. (got the entire set for less than $70 on Amazon)
Next year we are going for the Kitchen-aid
I am getting a new handbag!
I am trying to stick to my workout routine and pamper myself with the little things..Like a nice hot bath, time away with friends, and some precious “me” time during this hectic time of year!
Taking 10 minutes each day for a cup of coffee or chai-even if it means 10 minutes of putting my baby in his swing and not feeling guilty about it!
As a mom of two young boys, I don’t take much time for myself and I actually feel guilty when I do. Next week I am having a girls night out with a few of my favorite girl friends. We’ll be going to dinner and a movie!
I am traveling home and stopping to visit old friends on the way. I am taking plenty of time so I don’t have to rush and can enjoy myself.
I am really trying to reduce my stress this year, as I usually am sinking in stress by th etime the holidays are over.
Being with my sister for Christmas will be my gift to me. We haven’t lived near each other for 30 years and now she has moved to be close to me and my family.
Between running around buying everyones Christmas presents, getting things ready for our cook at work, added to the daily chores that go along with having 2 kids, I am hoping to be able to take some time to have my hair done, but it will probably just end up that I get a 5 minute bubble bath instead of a 2 minute shower.
This may sound strange but this year I’ve decided to make any Christmas cookies I feel like – most years I don’t have time to try new recipes or to decorate the cookies nicely and it all seems like a big rush. So this year I’ve decided to take my time, try some new recipes, retry some old fancier ones, eliminate some sewing projects and have fun with the baking!
I am treating myself to some new running shoes. I feel better when I exercise and take care of myself.(I hate exercise, but I love the way I feel better when I do it.)
Tasha
I am going shopping this weekend by myself with no kids which NEVER happens!
I am planning on getting a full body massage.
I can’t wait!
I haven’t purchased any new clothes for myself this entire year. (We’re paying off debt!) But, I have been socking away a few dollars here and there, and I plan to go after-Christmas Sale Shopping just for me!
This is an awesome giveaway, and an even better thread. I love your blog!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
I am spending time with my grandmother learning to knit and crochet.
I leave my husband with the kids while I go Christmas shopping. That is giving time to myself. It is stress free shopping without two kids.
I am treating myself while out shopping to little goodies here and there, like a sweet tea or coffee, in order to make the running around more enjoyable.
P.S. On the common sense website I really liked the tip of placing your scarf through the eyelet hole in your coat so it won’t get lost.
I usually take an afternoon off of everything! Make snacks, start a fire, and pop in a movie. Pretty much always Bing Crosby in either Irving Berlin’s “Holiday Inn” or “White Christmas”. I have even gotten my kids to cuddle up and watch, once!
A special thing for myself: NOT cooking Christmas dinner. We will have family over for gifts and finger foods, but I will not be cooking a full fledged dinner. This will allow me to relax and enjoy the day as well.
I am going to treat myself to a pedicure once the season is over. I almost never do that and it sounds so nice!
I will pamper myself this Christmas Season by purchasing a new outfit and going to have my hair colored. It makes me feel like a new person and my husband loves it!!!
Wow!! So many great tips. I really liked the tip about using a slice of bread to clean up very small pieces of broken glass when somethings breaks.
Since getting ready for Christmas and family requires so much running around, I am going to stay home, ask my hubby to watch the baby while I put my feet up, read a good book and drink some hot chocolate!
My husband is not the best present-buyer in the world…every year I know EXACTLY what I’m getting because he never strays from my list (which has to be very detailed with locations, prices, etc!)…and he NEVER remembers the stocking stuffers, so this year I decided to buy myself some really cool things for my stocking! Now the kids won’t have to think Santa forgot about Mom again!
The one thing that I am doing this holiday season is always thinking positive instead of letting things that I have no control over run my life!!
A few months ago I treated myself in advance by buying a nice dress to wear to the Christmas party… two sizes smaller than I could fit in. Since then I’ve been eating healthy and exercising. Sadly it looks like I won’t be able to wear the dress after all… unless I take it in, as it’s too big!
For myself right now with all the extras to do, my special thing is that my husband is doing dinner each night and from 5-6 I get to go to the bedroom and nap, read, whatever I want, and he keeps the kids out…so it’s just for me. I’ve mostly been napping….LOL
I have grown my hair out for the last year. I will be donating it to Wigs4Kids. Then I will be getting a nice new short cut for the holidays. Can’t wait.
I bought myself a new cd that I have been wanting and I love it.
We are trying to be spend as little as possible this year. My gift to myself will be a few accessories for my company christmas party this weekend. I’m prego so a few pieces of jewelry will help me glam it up a little.
I’m taking a quick trip to FL to visit my *baby* (read 28 yr old) who moved down there a year ago and doesn’t have the funds or time to come home for Christmas. Can’t wait to see him!
I bought myself a new cd and I love it. That was my comment and it went to Valery.
I am starting walking on my treadmill again. It feels so good when I get going.
I am not spending over my budget…it’s so much more relaxing this year! Now I can enjoy the holidays and even after the holidays…
I love to shop. Not spend lots of money but find the best deals. My 15mo old does not enjoy scouring the clearance sections so much. I’ve scheduled some “daddy play time” (after daddy is done with finals of course) so that I can just be gone for a few hours even if I’m only window shopping. Can’t wait!
I am going to be asking our in-laws to babysit so that I can enjoy some alone time with my husband – it has been too long!
I am staying home for the holidays this year. I won’t be packing up the kids and husband and all of the presents too. It will be fantastic! No holiday travel for me!
I am going to the salon to get my hair colored this season. I usually use drug store boxed dye to save money, but as a present to myself, I am going to the salon to be pampered!
One thing I’m doing for myself is finally spending time with friends again since having my son…I forgot how good it felt to hang out and laugh with the girls! Lesley
We usually spend Christmas with my in-laws because they are local, but this year we are traveling to go and spend Christmas with my mom. My grandmother just passed away the day before Thanksgiving and I need some time with my family, so that is what I am doing for me.
I’m going to (FINALLY) schedule myself a haircut. It’s been WAY too long!
I got a one time use $10 off coupon for Victoria’s Secret. I used it for myself and got myself a bunch of goodies!
I’m taking the family ice staking for the first time in our lives, it sould be a great laugh and a great time!!
This year I’m saving money (which is less stressful for me) and making sure I have time to exercise every day.
I am going to Disney something I have always wanted to do for Christmas well I am talking to kids too but that’s for me too because I love to watch their eyes and reactions. Plus this will be the first time for my 2 year old and my 5th for my 6 year old.
Every year as a way of pampering myself and other moms who find themselves so busy this time a year, I arrange a girls night out at an inexpensvie sit down restaurant. I do this every December and it get bigger each year. It is nice to touch base with all of our friends and unwind and relieve some of the holiday stress. We usually just eat and relax then go home refreshed.
Since I just had surgery, I am giving myself time to relax and heal this holiday season. No hassles at the mall and any last minute shopping I can do on-line.
I am shopping on-line instead of subjecting myself to the mall chaos.
I always go shopping with my sisters and my mom on black friday, without the kids. We do breakfast and lunch too which makes it treat for us and gives us some time to catch up.
For myself as a treat I am going to take the kids to the in-laws. Pour a glass of wine. Start some Christmas music. Make a nice warm bubble bath. Then have a quite night to my self before all the craziness of Christmas eve. I do this every year and seem to be less stressed like all my sister-in-laws. it is sooooooooooo nice!!!!!
I really had to think about this! Apparently I don’t do enough for myself..
Mine has been going on for the last couple years, my husband and I have worked SO hard so I can stay home with our son from now on. This holiday has been so wonderful, staying at home and spending time with him. Can’t wait to finish decorating and put up the tree, love passing on holiday traditions!
One thing I am doing for myself this Holiday season? I guess simply taking time to enjoy the season and not feel as if I’m stressed with school and the holidays and whatever else is going on. It’s nice to just relax.

The one special thing I’m doing for myself is buying a Wii. Not for DH, not for the kid, but for me! I deserve fun videogames too right?
It sounds funny for pampering, but I like to go out shopping the day after Christmas with my mom and sister-in-law and make a girls day of it. The kids stay home with dad and grandpa and drive THEM crazy with all the noise from their new gifts!
I get time to shop with my mom and my friend kid free. He’s got the kids, he puts them to bed. It’s wonderful, until two hours in when I start missing them all…
I have about 2 weeks off work for Christmas and instead of keeping my son home with me the whole time, I will be sending him to day care most days so I can rest/relax, and do some things I haven’t had time to do since having him 14 months ago!
I am saving so much money this year, thanks to starting early and to your blog and others, that I am going to get a nice pedicure during the holidays. Yippe, can’t wait for some much needed pampering!!
After hosting 4 holiday parties last year in my home – I have taken my sister up on hosting one of them in her home!!
The one thing I do for myself is take an hour each day to read my blogs, enter contests and look for and organize my coupons. It is fun to me and I actually get frustrated when I cant get the time to do it.
I just went and spent some time at the salon. I haven’t been since January. I had a makeover, a hair cut and my eyebrows done. Talk about nice. I need to not let it go so long next time!
I’m taking time off to help my husband since he is having surgery on the 23rd. I would love to win this. With 4 bathrooms in our house I’m always running out of toilet paper somewhere.
To pamper myself I go to the gym. Going to the gym makes me feel better, keeps me from eating like crazy, controls my stress levels and helps me sleep – which makes me a better mom and wife.
I went to a Mom’s night spa with friends and splurged on some nice body lotions for myself.
one thing i do for my self is to make sure i have “me time”, with a 2 year old things can get crazy so i just take a day and hang out with the girls and have girl time which is much needed
This year the kids and I are celebrating our Christmas on the 24th together before going for the big bash at my parents house the next morning.
This season I am taking care of myself by going to bed at an earlier hour than I’ve been accustomed to lately, which helps me handle the demands of the busy days better and helps me from getting run-down and sick. I love to take a little time in bed to read and unwind before shutting off the lights. I may also pick up a few favorite magazines as an indulgence.
I’ll be getting a much needed hair cut and have them style it for me so I don’t have to!!!
I’m going to the spa for the whole day, no kids, no spouse, just me and peace.
I don’t think I’ve entered this giveaway yet. I’m sorry if I have.
I am baking my favorite cookies this year, and listening to my Christmas CDs when I’m in the kitchen. It makes me happy.
Hugs,
Melinda
Just taking time to really enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.
I am going to get my hair done and buy me a new cell phone.
We just moved about 3 months ago and I have not found the time to go to the library and get a new library card….I haven’t picked up a “me book” in a long time and can’t wait
I am going to treat myself a much needed pedicure
Well I just bought myself a new workout dvd. It’s getting cold outside. I really excited to get started.
this holiday I’m getting something for myself that has been pending for over a year! I’m dying my hair and getting a haircut. You know being a mom that hair is the least priority. It’s all about the kids…but this time…it’s mommy-time! =]
I am getting haircut and enjoying the fact that my shopping is done!
I’m letting myself indulge in a weekly bubble bath with apple cider scented soap. Love it…and it helps me relax throughout the week.
i am buying a fancy new outfit for a wedding that is 5 days before Christmas. Can’t wait to go shopping.
I already bought my gift for Christmas, to me from me… some yummy wonderful spa products at the mall. A TOTAL splurge – but by nails look so good and my skin feels and smells so great – it was just the pick-me-up I needed.
And I didn’t mention it to my hubby – but he sure has noticed, hee hee hee.
i’m chilling out! we’ve cut back on gifts, husband and i are only spending $20 on each other…we’re just trying to enjoy the season rather than becoming big stress cases trying to make everything perfect!
We’re forgoing gifts in our little family and giving to a family in need instead. We have so much, it feels so good to not be getting MORE!
To try not to stress out about shopping, gifts, and cards. If it happens, it happens. If not, Oh well.
I am letting myself take one hour a day to do a Christmas activity that I enjoy, sing songs, bake cookies to eat and not give away, window shop. It helps take away the stress of Christmas.
I am meeting two old friends this week – one for lunch and one for dinner. A real treat for me, between work and alittle one is to be able to get out, not once, but twice!
I am taking advantage of my grocery store’s fuel perks and buying gift cards! That way i do not have to drag my ten month old out in the cold shopping!
Oh man, I always buy myself one gift (usually clothes) that I’ve really been wanting but am sure no one else will get for me. It’s fun to open that one on Christmas morning.
Im going to cut down on working all the time and spend more time with my kids and grandson.
Time goes so fast and money does to why not just enjoy life instead of running myself down.
One special thing I am doing for myself is knitting a new sweater to wear Christmas Day. It’s almost like my own private tradition.
This year for myself I am spending a day at the spa and pampering myself as a mom of 3 on a tight budget thats something I don’t get to do and can’t afford to do!! but that is my Christmas gift to myself this year in honor of going back to work for the first time since I had my 6yr old daughter
I am fitting in a walk whenever I can…helps me relieve stress.
This year we are having a simple dinner at my house instead of an extravagant meal. That way everyone, including the WOMEN, gets to sit on the couch and relax instead of cooking and cleaning for hours!
I think the speed cleaning guide is spot on and fabulous advice! I bookmarked it to have fast and handy!
I am really enjoying my children in the moment. Enjoying everyone’s good health.
For down time, I like to read or sew. I also go to my local YMCA to de-stress. Working out always makes me feel better!
I get the luxary of leaving the kids and ol man at home for a couple of days to go to the beach and spend time by myself, a much needed break, especially now that he just got laid off.
Since my birthday falls in the holiday season, I am treating myself to a day at the spa for a pedicure, manicure, new hair cut and a massage. I also shopped early so I don’t have to stress about trying to find last minute gifts.
This year I am giving myself a break and let my mother-in-law do the cooking. she has offered every year since we were married but I always felt like i should do it…well this year has been a little crazy and decided that she can have the honors of messing up her house for the day and cleaning it up all night.
Happy Holidays!
megan
ps if i win i promise to bring her a roll of paper towels for cleaning up the christmas mess, hehe
Taking off 2 weeks from work rather than the few days around Christmas. I will TOTALLY be able to unplug!
I am being gracious enough this year to buy myself a yoga ball and some bands to work out with. I’m started another semester of school and rarely take time to go to the gym. I like to work out but I don’t get home from school until 10pm and the gym is usually closed. Hopefuly this will help. (I also have a new flat screen under the tree already. I saved for months for this TV!)
I am making most gifts it is saving money and very relaxing to do.
I have 2 weeks off and a few of those days the kids will be with family/friends so I will be going to the gym, shopping, lunching with friends and reading sans kids. I can’t wait!
I’ve decided that it’s okay if I don’t get all of the Christmas presents I planned to make made. It’s okay if I have to buy a few more items and it will help me not feel so overwhelmed!
I bought myself some new boots, and am not picking up any extra hours at work.
We will be visiting family for Christmas and my in-laws are great at encouraging me to take a break or go to Starbucks with my husband while they watch the kids.
I am making special time with all 10 of my grandkids. We are going one at a time to let them pick there own present and I can’t wait.
This year I’m going to get my husband to take me on a date to dinner and a play. Time without the kids is definitely needed!
This year we are going to spend the holidays with our daughter and her family in georgia. That is my special gift to myself. Since I never get to see them, and since my son in law is deploying in 2 months; I couldnt ask for a better reason to spend with them.
I just got a fabulous 90 minute massage on Sunday! That was for me, and no one else!
I am going to relax and enjoy the holidays with my family instead of running around like a crazy person trying to find the perfect gift. And I am going to bake with my kids. But for me time, i snuggle up with a good book for at least 30 minutes every day.
This Christmas I am asking my husband to stay home with the kids so I can go see the taping of a favorite local television show. A few hours away and some good girl talk!
While my sweet little boy naps I am on line entering contests in hopes to win a few things to make my life easier:)
I made myself my grandma’s chinese noodle cookies and ate as many of them as I pleased. They always mean Christmas to me.
I have cut back on some of the things I normally do that seems to make the Christmas season so busy.
My best friend and I are going to a holiday concert tomorrow; a festive time away from kids and family helps me appreciate my family more when I’m back.
See post #221. My exaxt post word for word and smiely face, with someone elses name on it!
My tip is just to take pleasure in the simple things and to be truely thankful for what I have. I plan on having a simple Christmas with my children and I look forward to visiting with friends and family and delivering them lots of homebaked goodies.
I spent the day with my 15 year old niece- we shopped/ gossiped and had the best day ever- it was a great holiday gift to ME!!!
I’m stuffing my own stocking. I don’t want to be the only one with an empty stocking in the family so I’m filling up my own! Hey- at least I know I’ll like all my gooides!
quitecontrary1977@hotmail.com
I belong to Curves and this time of year it’s too easy to say “I’m too busy to go”. So I force myself to go, but when I’m finished I’m glad I went. It has a way of relaxing me so I can continue on with my hectic schedule.
I’m treating myself to a pedicure!
I made an appointment to have my hair cut and colored at my fav salon…haven’t been there in 9 months so I’m very excited!
On thing that I am doing for myself this holiday season is to go have coffee at my favorite local place BY MYSELF once a week!
I am taking a day off! I am going to go get a massage and a pedicure and try to relax. Its amazing how stressful holidays are!
I treat myself by being around family. I am happy and stress free when I am having fun with my family members. Also I am making sure that any gift cards this year that I get go toward something for me and not for something the hubby or the kids want. I also tend to do that when I get giftcards or money.

I’m taking my husband and we’re going away for a long weekend–just the two of us!! We’re going to a B & B, seeing a play, and visiting the Biltmore House decorated for Christmas! I’ll just love the alone time!!!
Tammy
I splurged on myself and bought a new purse AND wallet. It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a treat for me.
bigmelw at aol dot com
My daughter and I are going to have a manicure and pedicure together. This is good quality bonding time for us. She loves it!
Since I am pregnant I am starting prenatal massage in January. I will go twice a month and best of all it is covered 100% by insurance. I can’t think of a better gift than an entire hour to myself and a massage. Whoo hoo!
I get my nails done every three weeks and right before Christmas I get a holiday inspired pedicure. I just love it.
I get a massage, by best friend is a professional and it is also her gift to me.
I get together with my sister and mom and we make Christmas candy and drink wine, it is an awesome day.
I’m getting everything done early so I can relax at Christmas!! I also took some extra time from work so I can be with my family.
one thing for the hoildays i am doing for myself is getting my nails and toes done. NEVER HAVE BEFORE…
I’m cutting back on stress and keeping things simple this year. I look forward to wonderful relaxing days together with my family!
Even though I have a new infant this holiday season I try to take a warm bubble bath at the end of each night. It sometimes my only “me” time and its fabulous!!
I am treating myself to some new cookware! And if you knew how little I ever splurged on myself, you’d understand what a big deal this is!LOL!
sblilly14(@)yahoo(.)com
A Spa day just for me!
I bought myself the new Dean Koontz book. I am going to take an entire day off the weekend after Christmas to do nothing but relax, read & enjoy the day.
I will be getting a new kitty cat tomorrow – so excited.
I plan on getting a haircut, getting photo cards made for christmas cards, baking for gifts and gift cards for out of town family. No trips to the mall!!
Well…. I think I am going to go for a massage at one of our local massage institutions where the students need to get there hours in before the graduate…it is soo cheap compared to a pro.
I go for a walk every evening and leave the kiddo at home with his dad to take a bath and get ready for bed.
This holiday, we are limiting our gifts to $25 value. It’s a challenge for the entire family.
Great giveaway!! It’s a busy time of year, so my one indulgence is Starbucks. When things get too crazy and hectic, I swing by a grab a special treat just for me!!
For myself? I am enjoying the sweets that come with the holiday season-and so far, so good! I am really enjoying the egg nog!
I’m going to make a batch of white chocolate covered peanut butter crackers and probably eat them all. (Not all at once, but over time.) They’re delicious and my favorite holiday treat.
This Christmas season, I am going to visit my family early with the kids so that Christmas day is just about us and not everyone else. This is for me! I love to just be with my husdand and kids to celebrate Jesus’s birth! Then Christmas dosen’t seem so crazy.
I am ACTUALLY going to stay in bed when i am sick, lol.
I’m going to get a massage and buy myself one present! I’d also like to have a girls night out
I am ordering Christmas dinner from the grocery store instead of staying in the kitchen all day to make it. I would like to enjoy the holiday with my family too!
I plan on purchasing a nice outfit for Christmas Eve!
This might be too late because of the time difference. But either way, it looks like a fun giveaway!
I am trying to get together with a couple of girlfriends during the holidays for some give-mom-a-break time. I’m also making plans to meet up with a new friend after the holidays at a new bakery here in town for coffee, sweets, and mom talk!
My gift to myself is a day out with my best friend, no kids. We do this every year, with lunch, shopping and finally, coffee and girl chat at Barnes and Noble. Sunday can’t come soon enough!
Something I like to do for myself is take some mommy time and treat myself to a spa day….love it!
One special thing I’m doing for myself? Having fun! Making cookies and actually eating some of them!!!
This year, I’m working on my own business. It feels so good to be doing what I want to do, and fulfilling a dream I’ve had for years! A little bit in the evening every day, after homeschooling my four kiddos and dinner. It’s so nice, building slowly but still coming along and it really makes me feel sooo good!
Taking a bubble bath every single night.
By being a better person
I am not stressing out about what to get my inlaws this year..if they don’t like it, then oh well
With 5 kids this will help!
I am actually going to pamper my “Mother-In-Law” and myself to a manicure and a pedicure right before Christmas.
I haven’t been taking any time out for myself lately but I have been promising myself a new haircut and a much needed massage. That will be my gift to myself… it always makes me feel so much better to pamper myself just a little once in a while. We all deserve it!
I take a long hot bath and light candles.
well, pamper myself. Boy I wish I had something great to say but honestly since my son is medically fragile, I haven’t been pampered in over three years. That’s ok though. As my son gets healthier, I feel better. For now I will just dream of being pampered in the future. Heather
heatherrussell@cox.net
This year, I have decided that we are not going to stress ourselves (myself) out so much by thinking I ‘HAVE’ to go to every party we are invited to. It gets so stressful to try to find a sitter when everyone else is too, and when my son is with a sitter all day the last thing he wants is to go to a sitter again so that Mommy and Daddy can go to a party… So this is less stressful for everyone!
I am taking time off from work. Every year, I work the holidays, every holiday. But this year I am actually taking the week off. And my bosses are letting me (how unusual is that).
I like to relax and read a good christmas story with a magical happy ending.
I decided not to send out Christmas cards this year and tone down the decorating a little bit. Too much stress for me. We’re also not going to travel. We’re going to stay home and have fun.
I am pampering myself by not having to do any Christmas shopping! I have bought for everyone and it’s all wrapped so now I can relax and enjoy the holiday with my husband and kids.
This year, I decided to make my life easier by just buying gifts for the kids in the family, and gift cards for everyone else! I have a large family, so this really is a treat, I’m already done!
What at I doing for myself…well I don’t have enough time to do anything for myself, I’m lucky to get 5 hours of sleep at night!
I am pampering myself but taking it easy. Things don’t have to be perfect, especially when you are sick. Me and my 3 kids are just going to watch holiday movies, make and eat good treats with one another! They grow up way too quick!
I am planning to take the day after Christmas off. I’m going to watch movies all day.
Thanks for sharing the give-away!
I got my hair done so I don’t have to bother with it over the holidays.
My husband doesnt get a Christmas bonus and we usually use all of mine to buy for everyone and I end up getting nothing. This year I bought myself a NICE gift. I deserve it!!!
I keep a bag of tootsie rolls hidden in the pantry that just for me! It’s nice to have something that I can enjoy that is just for me without breaking the bank.
One special thing I do for myself…I make the kids sit and watch a movie a few afternoons a week and catch up on my tv. The down-time is good for all of us!
I have always done a big Christmas Eve buffet party for my husband’s family and then a Christmas Day sit down meal for my family and his closest relatives. The Christmas Eve party would go into the wee hours and I would be so exhausted cleaning everything up and doing it again that I never enjoyed the holiday or Christmas morning with my duaghter. This year I said enough and said I’m not doing it. This year I don’t dread the holidays and am much more relaxed.
My best friend and I are getting manicures and pedicures together the weekend before Christmas, followed by lunch and a movie. Should be fun!
Im more of a giving person to others then to myself this time of year. But I did buy myself something this year at the black Friday sales. I bought myself a new computer chair.
I am not stressing myself so much this year to get everything done. I keep reminding myself to make it special for the kids and that has really helped me relax and enjoy their excitement and laughter!
I’m getting my hair cut & highlighted at a fancy salon. I’ll look good for pictures this year!
well my company gave us a spa gift certificate and I am going to try and get a massage or facial!
I am spending all possible free time with my mom and sister. Since I moved to the States from Japan, I hadn’t seen them for over 2 years. They are coming over for a visit over the holidays, and I can’t wait!!
I actuall went and bought a holiday tablecloth – which I hardly EVER buy things like that….but this year, I’m bargain shopping for all kinds of little decorations to decorate the house for my 3 kiddos! I”m even going to buy their dog her own stocking!
A special thing I am doing for myself this holiday season is remodeling my bedroom. Yes, I know its not necessarily relaxing–but the end reward will be so great! I am so excited!
Thanks for the chance to win!
I am getting a massage with a friend. I’ve never had one and it sounds great!
I’m a adopting a dog from a rescue organization
and can’t think of anything I’d rather have. Just to see a deprived animal happy and safe is
the best present I could give myself.
Who couldnt use tp and towels! fantastic! I took a week off from work, so I can get things done BEFORE the Holidays and make it less stress, and more fun! Yvette Carter
sassythirty@hotmail.com
I am pampering myself by just enjoying the season. I’ve made a list, stuck to it, and slowly I get everything I need.
What a great gift. This year I going to get a massage from my husband. That’s all Iasked for.
I am going to enjoy time with my husband and wonderful kids, playing games and watching movies on our big screen, while enjoying homemade candy made for me by my aunt.
Would love not to think about papergoods and spend the xtra on Christmas.
My treat is that I get to go shopping one day all by myself. By that time all gifts will have been bought and wrapped, so it’s just an afternoon to browse without having to keep an eye on the kid or the clock.
I am going to use the $39 introductory offer card from Massage Envy that was handed to me.
I am going to beef up my workout time to ward off the extra pounds and help with the stress. Such a relaxant for me!
Thanks for the chance to win
Blessings
Sue

This pass month I got me new Eye glasses different from what I nomally get, I am getting a hair cut and prem ( May go shorter) Got a good book to read before busy time starts again.Love just not have to worry about everyday needs once in awhile that you have to get.I get a day just to turn off everything and injoy the sounds of ???????????
I’m trying hard this year to be less stressed and more positive about the holidays. So far so good;)
What I’ve been doing is just trying to slow down and tell myself it’s okay if the house isn’t perfectly clean or if the laundry doesn’t get put away until the weekend. I’m sitting down for a few minutes and just looking at the Christmas lights I put up, enjoying the Christmas music, etc. It’s the little things that we take for granted sometimes.
The one thing I am doing for myself this season is NOT going crazy thinking I have to bake a lot of cookies, decorate every room of my home, etc. I am baking only when I feel like it and only what I want, not what others want me to bake!
When my husband takes off from work for the Holidays I’m going to get a pedicure!
Hmmm…. Thats a hard one, I have 4 girls and I am a Cosmetologist so it seems like I am always the one pampering. My husband has agreed to give me an afternoon off this Saturday. Shopping by myself then Just me and a book all Cozy in my bed.
I am minimizing my stress during the holidays by avoiding the crowds, spending time with good friends and taking the time to indulge in self-pampering whenever possible!
This holiday season I set aside $100 to spend on myself during present shopping. I’ve had so much fun looking for what I want to buy myself instead of just the family!
I am pampering myself this year by losing weight… I have lost 20 pounds so far as of July and am still trying to lose more… it is SOOO hard to lose weight when you are so busy with a husband and a teenager AND fixing lasagna for dinner, my favorite. But, for the first time in a long time, I FEEL great and I look pretty good too.
thanks for the entry…
Every year, I take a day off to spend with my husband around the holidays. We wrap up Christmas shopping, eat out lunch and sometimes hit the movies. But mostly, it is us time – an indulgence in our normally wonderful, crazy, child filled lives.
Thsi year for myself I have taken 2 full days off to shop without the stress, and I have made alot of decorations using materials from my yard. I have had alot of fun and enjoyment hanging out with nature.
I am taking time to give myself home spa treatments! No boys allowed!!
I received a gift card to a spa 18 months ago. I think I’m going to make an appointment and finally use it and try to relax for a change.
I am going to get a babysitter and let my husband take me out to a nice hotel, eat a nice dinner at my favorite restaurant and sleep in until noon.
I love to make a cup of hot chocolate and sit down with a great Christmas move. No kids allowed, just me, the cocoa and a good DVD.
I’m going to start that book I’ve been meaing to read. I’d also love a haircut so that might be in the works as well.
going home to spend the holidays with my family.i have been on the road for 13 months and this is a present to myself,to be with them!!!!!cant wait!!!!!!!
The one thing I will definately be doing soon is getting a pedicure to pamper myself. I’m always so busy taking care of my hubby and kids all the time, that I sometimes neglect myself in the things I would enjoy! Happy Holidays to me:)
I really don’t do much for myself but doing for others makes me happy. Seeing that I can put a smile on my family and friends faces makes me happy. I might treat myself to some body sprays if I have anything left over after buying for my children.
I’m taking the time to get a facial tonight. I’ve never had one before, and a friend is going to school for that. So I’m able to have her do tonight at class for free! I’m pretty excited.
I am finally getting myself a pedicure – it has been over a year for a real one and it shows :\
I have started exercising again.
I always seem to get sick during the holiday season because I don’t take care of myself… this year I am getting 8 hours of sleep EVERY NIGHT! It makes every day better… for everybody!
For myself this holiday season, I am going to NOT STRESS! I am done with my holiday shopping; I start each year in August, but this year I am done early because I decided I wasn’t going to sress over who got what. I know they will love what I purchased for them and I am going to have a sress free holiday this year! YES!
I’m getting my hair highlighted, and eating cookies even though they aren’t on my diet. :0)
Sending Alex to my mom’s this weekend for holiday festivities with them. Really, she requested having him, but it benefits me, too. Mike and I get time together and will probably enjoy a nice dinner out. I picture doing some shopping on my own late in the evening when the crowds have dissipated. And…I am including some veg time in there where I just get to lay around, drink hot chocolate and watch some movies. I can’t wait!!
The one thing I am doing for myself is taking a nap with my kids each day. No matter how much I have to get done, I take 45 mins a day to nap with my little ones. I usually don’t go to bed til 1:00 a.m. and I’m up at anywhere from 6-8 a.m. so stealing much needed sleep is my personal treat.
Now for the Christmas tip from ScottCommon Sense. I’ve done this one for years though. When I receive a Christmas card I hold onto the return address label. I can cut that off and glue it to my Christmas card. That way I don’t mess anything up and I don’t have to take the time to write it out.
Thanks for the opportunity!! Merry Christmas!
lil_wifey21 at yahoo dot com
I am finally going to use the gift certificate I was given and I am going to go get a facial!
This year I have simplified our Christmas celebrations so that I can celebrate more and stress less.
Thanks for the give-aways!
Michelle
Just relaxing and enjoying myself and my grandchild over the holidays.
I’m simplifying giving gifts this year. One per person, even if the dollar amount isn’t the same.
This holiday season is more special to me than most, and it is because of something I am doing for myself. I am graduating from college this weekend, which is my holiday gift to myself. As well, this gift is for my family. My young son has seen me finish my degree by taking online classes while being home with him. I can only hope that my hard work has instilled in him a strong understanding of hard work and the importance of an education.
First of all we are finishing our shopping and wrapping early this year. Then once the kiddies are asleepy keeping in mind that there are 5 this can take some time we sit under the tree and just stare up through the middle and tell each other what we love about each other. Kinda of presents to each other. I always make sure I pick something that he thinks is a flaw and tell him that is what I love about him like he thinks he has a big nose but I tell him that it fits his face perfectly a smaller one would make him look silly like he had no nose at all and that it is sexy and one of the things that drew me to him. The best thing is we are closer together and we start off the year feeling good about ourselves.
I usually make a lot of my gifts, this year is no exception as I making personalized photo mats with family pictures on them. Previous years I have never made myself one of the gifts, and usually I end up wishing I had and saying I will get around to it and I never actually do it. This year I actually made myself one of these photo mats, and I am so excited that I took the extra time to make one for myself!
I am watching all of my favorite Christmas videos, Peanuts Gang, Rudolph… all of them with my kids. For the past few years I have missed them all for one reason or another. It is has been one of the most enjoyable holiday seasons so far!
I will go grocery shopping sans kids. I will get a pedicure and have the smoothest feet and I will even let them paint my toes a funky color. I am going to read a book.
I got a great new haircut and highlights! Now I feel all cute for all the holiday gatherings and photos!
It sounds stupidly simple, but the one thing I am doing for myself this holiday season is that I am allowing myself to not stress over the “perfect” Christmas
Our family picture was NOT turning out, so I gathered myself and told everyone to make whatever face they wanted, set the timer, ran into place, stuck my tongue out at my husband and that is now our Christmas card pic with the caption “Dear Santa, define ‘good’…” Our tree has been up since the day before Thanksgiving, but still ONLY has lights on it (no decorations)…we will get around to it sometime in the next week….and finances (or lack of) have forced us to have a very small meager Christmas here at home, instead of stressing I am allowing myself to realize that by letting my kids give each other small gifts instead of having a ton of gifts from hubby and I (the kids will each get one gift from “santa” along with any gifts I have won and their gifts to each other had to be 5-10 dollars). Long story short, I am giving myself permission to be a great mom, not a PERFECT one
One thing I am going to do for myself this Holiday is take some time to work on my craft projects. I rarely take the time to do it.
I am taking the day after Christmas off, so that we can enjoy the long weekend.
My birthday is at the beginning of December and I always ask for gift certificates to get pedicures. It is one of the few luxuries I allow myself and it is so relaxing to sit and be massaged after all of the running around for the holidays!
Next week I’m taking 2 days off work and not telling my husband or my kids! it’s for me…and i won’t be cleaning the house or shopping
I went yesterday and bought me a bunch of new clothes to open on Christmas! I never have a new outfit to wear on Christmas and I’m excited now!
I’m giving myself a break – not doing all the decorating and baking and running around I’ve done in the past. My kids holidays’ will still be special if every nook and cranny isn’t decorated. I’m naking afternoon naps and doing what I WANT to do, not what I HAVE to. So far it’s working!
I’m taking 2 weeks off starting on Christmas Eve. I can’t wait – my family will all be coming home!
Treating myself to slowing down and not feeling obligated to every party and buying a gift for everyone.
I am baking (cause I like to eat) for me! Of course others benefit too! I need me some TP!!
I like some quiet time to bake goodies for the family. Very therapeutic!
My husband isn’t really into going to musical concerts and such just for fun, but I found out about a 14-days-of-Christmas musical concert series that our city is putting on for the holidays, and he agreed that he’d go to one with me. I’ve been in musical concerts all my life, so it was a treat to finally have him agree to go with me and celebrate the Christmas season with a little relaxing music!
I am going to go take myself shopping and give myself a day off from the kids after dh gets done with his schoolwork for the semester. I may even meet a friend for lunch, with NO kids!
I’m making lots of goodies and eating a bunch of them when the kids aren’t looking!
Something totally for myself, and I’m trying really hard not to feel guilty about carving out the time is working out! I put kids down for naps/tv/movie time and give myself an hour. I look SO forward to this! And I’m sure it will help when those truffles and cookies and pies and dinners come calling…
I am treating myself to a whole week off work–WooHoo!!
I always watch my favorite Christmas movies. It gives me a chance to relax and get in the holiday spirit.
I just had baby number 2. My husband will be off for 2 weeks and I am already scheduling my naps.
I am planning a girls night out just for me, no kids, when the husband will be home for the holidays.
This is a fantastic prize, thank you so much for the chance!
One special thing I’m doing for myself: taking a little time to visit my favorite blogs, and enter their fun giveaways! Even better when served with a cup of coffee.
The best gift I’m doing for myself this holiday season is to find the time to watch Holiday movies on TV – and relax.
One special thing I’m doing for myself is taking time to go on a holiday house tour and look at other people’s decorated houses!
I’m letting someone else take care of Christmas Dinner this year. Lower the stress and actualy get to sit and visit with my family.
I am going to go get a mani/pedi! I love the way it feels on my feet even though I wear boots most days and can’t show off my pretty toes.
My husband and I have never had a vacation. Just never had the time or money. Even a weekend away would be a blessing to me. Thanks for the giveaway. Diane
I am treating myself to a new hair style.
I’m not to into trying to do things for myself, because it just feels better to give than to receive. I’m trying not to stress over money this year though
I am getting a message on saturday. with three kids one being a tennager. It is well desired
i simply make time for myself. time away from all the noise
I am not shopping this year. Last year was horrible and I had no Christmas spirit so this year I bought books for all the kids on my list and pictures of my kids for all the adults. If I bought anything it was online and delivered to my house. I’ve been singing carols all season and just having fun with my kids no stress at all. angie
I’m not to into doing things for myself, because it just feels better to give than to receive. Seeing your childrens eyes light up on christmas morning is enough
However I am trying not to stress about money this year.
I am removing myself from the gift giving/receiving mentality and focusing on enjoying familytime (which is an increasing rarity)
SURE WOULD COME IN HANDY
I am finally allowing myself to read the Twilight series.
i am going to get a different look in a hair cut then what i have now buy new shampoo to help enhance my all natural hair color even if it is expensive. and ill try not to worry so much about money this season like i usually do.
For myself – I’m letting myself off the hook and doing and giving less all around. Not so much b/c of a financial crisis – more as a turn toward simplicity.
I closed the door to my bedroom and crank up the space heater and crawl into bed and read a book! Ahhh quiet time!
Just Breathe!!
To relax I take a long hot bubble bath and we’ve trimmed down the long list of things we usually have to do for the holidays so we can spend more time at home doing things together.
The one thing I am going to do for myself is to take part of my christmas bonus and go cyber bargain shopping the day after christmas. i hope i can find some good bargains with free shipping.
I usually don’t get what I want for Christmas, so this year I went out and found myself a new purse that I could wear in the Fall/Winter seasons.
the one special thing i am doing for myself is to go visit my pregnant daughter. i havent seen her since the end of July and the peace of mind i will get by seeing she is okay will be the best christmas present ever. having alone time is nice but being with someone you really love is great.
It’s very hard to remember “Me” but I have actually taken some stress off of myself by not trying to do “it all”! I have my Husband helping me with a lot of things like Christmas cards and wrapping and actually went to an all girls Christmas exchange last night. It was nice to get out by myself for once!!
I am not stressing over all of the holiday activities this year..I completed most of my shopping before Thanksgiving.
This season I am taking it day by day. I usually sacrifice for my two girls and don’t do much for myself. I did splurge for a haircut this week and can’t wait for the kiddos to see their Santa present. A year’s worth of paper would be great in our house, especially with three females – my husband can’t figure out where it all goes!!! Thanks!
I have, this week, enjoyed to quiet of my home while the kids were at school. Ususally I am running around grocery shopping and doing church work and until last week volunteering at a preschool. So this week I have just hung out at home and have done almost nothing and have really enjoyed it.
I would love the toilet paper! With three kids, my husband, and self the “TP” is a must.
Thanks.
My husband is pampering me with a day at the spa!! I babysit kids, so I need this!
Hi, I’m giving myself a break by taking on only what I know I can handle. Merry Christmas.
Connie
Last week KMart had there double coupon event and I stocked up on body wash, makeup, nail polish and accessories! And the best part was they were all Free!
This year I was able to get the holidays off as vacation. So, I will be spending quality time at home with my kids. I am a single mom working two jobs and this time will be priceless!
What a wonderful giveaway! One thing I am doing for myself this year is to actually spend the gift cards that I get on myself. Every year I buy something for family or friends and this year I am going to get something special for myself.
This year I’m staying at home for the holiday, not insisting that we travel or do some big adventure. Just relax together.
The one thing I’m doing for myself is that I took some money that I had been given as a bonus and bought myself an iTouch.
Picked up some Sam Adams Chocolate Bock as a gift to myself.
I think you are wonderful for offering this giveaway. It is going to help whoever wins it. I would like to win it because with six kids money is always tight.
I am going to take some time to myself on my days off from work and just relax. I will be pampering myself.
I am making everyone jewelery as a gift.Anything creative is a stress buster for me!
This year I am getting a pedicure and massage!
In light of the way things are, I keep a positive attitude and give thanks for everything I have
This is a great giveaway!! One special thing I am doing for myself is taking the whole week of Christmas off. Grandma is watching my new baby one day, while I go get a much needed hair cut, and hope to maybe get my nails done too!
I have a newborn (9 weeks old) at home and I am on maternity leave from work so time for myself is at an all time premium. I am trying to sneak out long enough to have my nails done and be back in time to nurse my baby!
My husband is taking some time off, so I will be taking advantage of having him home to sleep in a bit, and relax. Plus having family time will be fun!
We’re having Christmas Eve at our house this year. Christmas is always special as we have plenty of food, go to church, drive around and look at the lights and than open gifts.
Keeping food to simple is much easier to worry about. Sure could use some extra paper products especially after the Holidays.
For myself I am taking all my grandkids ( 8 ) and we are going to go see all the Christmas Lights all over town. Doesn’t sound very exciting to many , but my Grandma Gert used to do this every Christmas with me. Brings back Wonderful Childhood Memories for me !! Also the look on their faces is better than any present I could ever give myself!
This year Mom took a break. We spent T-giving with son and family in Va. Beach, and will spend Christmas with son and family in Dayton, hence Mom doesn’t have to cook, clean, or decorate(not much anyway). I still enjoy the holidays and family very much but at 57 I love the break.
I am going to drive 3 hours to see my boyfriend. I am excited! Thanks!
Enjoying everything around me, including the Scrooge I am married too.
Thie thing that I am doing for myself this holiday season, is once a week, I am allowing myself a tall latte from Starbucks. I have stopped going there because of the cost, I have had to cut back on things. But I told my husband I don’t want any presents except to be able to go to Stabucks once a week in the month of December until Christmas. He is doing the same for Dunkin Donuts, as we are only buying for our daughter this Christmas. Thanks for such a great giveaway.
I’m dropping the kids off at grandma’s tomorrow so I can finish my baking and wrapping in peace!
I will be getting my hair done a couple of days before Christmas (cut and color) so that for once my hair looks good in holiday pictures!
I am doing two things for myself. First I am going to get a haircut. I haven’t had one since April and the layers are a mess. Couldn’t see spending the extra money that we don’t have. The second is we are going out to eat! we never get to do this. We haven’t picked the place yet but we have put the money in an envelope to make sure this happens.
One thing I am doing for myself is getting my nails done every two weeks. Just started two weeks ago and I really enjoy it. And it is really QUITE becuase the perosn doing the nails really does not talk. I like it that way!
This Christmas I wont be doing much for myself except trying to get back on my feet. I put my back out at work last Sunday so im trying to get healthy again for the holidays. Hopefully in time for me to finish my shopping up also.
what an extra special give away. thank you for letting us all know.
I am taking things slower this year, and not stressing out over all that needs to be done. I am taking time to exercise, and meditate, and call friends. I seem to get more done in the long run.
The one thing I’m doing for myself this season is purchasing my first home! I’ve worked very hard the past few years to get to this point and I’m ready to enjoy Christmas in my own place!
Since my husband lost his job, I can not do anything for myself but be thankful for each and everyday that God has given me to .
I love getting a massage this time of year! With all the stress of buying and shopping a girl really needs a massage!!
Being thankful for the family and friends that I have. Sitting back and enjoying the holiday season.
I’m going to take a day and spend it with my girl friends. We are going to go shopping, have some lunch and get pedicures!
Great giveaway, would love to win, trying to relax, its my baby’s 1st christmas. Very stressful.
The way my work schedule fell this year I have 6 days off from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day. I’m going to spend a day of that in my jammies and just enjoy doing nothing.
My husband also took a Friday off so we can spend the day shopping and wrapping. I’ve forced myself to not try and do it all myself this year.
Every afternoon when the baby takes a nap I make a cup of espresso. I stop what I’m doing and just sit and relax for about 15 – 20 minutes and enjoy my coffee. I look forward to it each day. If I brew the expresso strong enough, it gives me the “kick” I need to get more things done after the coffee break!!!
What a great give away. With 6 of us in the house I go though the paper. I do one thing for myself everynight by reading a little in my book then I switch and read a little in the Bible.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!
Although I would like to do a lot of things for myself, this year I purchased one box of chocolate covered cherries (my favorite!) and each night, when everyone is asleep and all is quiet in my house I sit and have one-savoring it as it melts and spreads that creamy goodness throughout my mouth. Sometimes it’s the small treats that give us the most pleasure and make the hectic holidays fun.
I have had hot cocoa or hot tea every night this holiday season, since the weather turned cold. Its a little something, but its that few minutes of silence & warm drink that help me keep on keeping on.
I’m going to buy that outfit that I have had my eye on for Christmas.
I get a new outfit to go to my husband’s work Christmas party every year. I love getting dressed up so it’s fun for me.
With my husband working for the auto industry, we could surely use a little extra help! Nothing fancy, just the necessities, here.
This year I’m not going to stress about getting the right present for everyone. This year I’m making cookie baskets for everyone.
Happy Holidays to all….
One special thing I’m doing for myself this holiday season is that I’m getting my hair done
One thing that i am doing for myself is just enjoying my daughter this Christmas. I never have time for myself to be honest as i am a stay at home mom and i work from home as well but just being able to watch my daughter’s excitement about Christmas and Santa is enough for me.
One thing I’m doing for myself this holiday is taking it easy!
THIS IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO. GO OUT FOR BREAKFAST. THAN TO THE MALL TO WINDOW SHOP. CATCH A MOVIE EAT POPCORN AND CHOC. COME HOME TAKE A NAP BEFORE SUPPER THAN GO OUT FOR A NICE RELAXING SUPPER.
One thing I intend to do for myself this Christmas season is to take time for me.With a son and son in law in the Marine Corp,2 grandbabies,an 11 year old at home and all the daily things I do,I feel like I DESRVE a little pampering
I could use this giveaway to!! It would help so much!!
Not trying to do it all. I am having the children help with A LOT more things this year.
What I am going to do for myself this Christmas is to let the little things go. No need to stress about the things I cannot change. A lot of that has been going on this year, for me. So, for mine and my husband, toddler and unborn baby girl’s well- being I am going to do my best to be stress-free. After all…everything else is easier once that is done, right?
One thing I am doing is taking things more slowly. Enjoying the time and the wonder of it all. I have a 1 1/2 year old, 6 year old and a 10 year old and it is neat to see the different stages of wonder. And maybe a pedicure.
Taking the family to Lake Tahoe for some fun in the snow! Hopefully we get snow.
I am going to treat myself to a pedicure this holiday season!
I love Christmas time, I am planning to relax, relax, relax. And have a ton of fun with the kids
All fun no stress of cleaning and school etc. Can’t wait!!!
Well, One thing I am doing for myself this holiday season going to find out the gender of our baby. Expecting in May… Horray!!!
I am hosting a cookie bake day and will not only be enjoying the company of my friends but also a yummy hot chocolate cocktail the whole day through.Num Yummy
Going out with the girls!
Even though I don’t think we are going to be able to do Christmas for the kids this year. I have went ahead and put Christmas tree up and Christmas lights which helps pamper my heart.
We get 12 days off with only having to use 4 days of personal time, which rocks! I’m taking advantage of that and plan to get some scrapbooking done and staying well rested. We have 7 month old (almost!) twins, so they keep us on our toes.
Thanks for this offer!
This year I am giving the gift of myself to other. Along with my children, we have scrapped big gift giving and are headed to a local church Christmas morning. We want to humble ourselves before God and help those less fortunate, if only for a few hours. I can’t think of how much more I could feel blessed than to give freely…without any wrapping paper or the words “Wii” in sight. When you give, give cheerfully
After hosting my husband’s family for Christmas dinner and my family 2 days later, my husband and I are going to our rental cabin for 3 days of relaxation. Just spend the time together – possibly scrapbooking, reading, or, since were near Amish Country, hit some of our favorite spots. Merry Christmas to all!!!
I love this time of year and with being a stay at home mom with a 2 year old you can get really stressed. So this year I decided I’m going to take myself to get a message and my hair done day before christmas and take my husband out to a nice candlelight dinner with no interuptions.
The thing i am doing for myself is baking i really enjoy cooking and baking. this is the first year that i will be baking cookies and candy extra is that my family gets to enjoy it as well. this will be the first christmas that we have all been together in a really long time. I can’t wait. Thanks
i am not gettig stressed out this year….i promised this to myself….
My husband and I are making a holiday dinner for ourselves. We usually just visit family and dine with them, but this year we are preparing for ourselves. I know it will be a task, but I know the reward and proud of preparing our own meal will be well worth the effort!
I’m just taking it easy this year. Trying not to freak out about stuff and just enjoy the Reason for the Season.
great giveaway…..I buy Scott products it would be nice to get them free, and since they have my name on them lol…
the one special thing I am doing for myself is going to the spa for a day to relax , manicure, pedicure, massage the works….my son gave me a gift card early and I cant wait then when all the festivities begin I will be relaxed and ready….good luck to everyone…..
Well, I’m not sure what I am doing for myself this year. But I’ve decided not to feel guilty about eating all the christmas goodies!
I’m trying to find more time to see my friends – all of us are so busy that when we can get together, it always lifts my spirits.
This year I’m actually taking some extra time off around the holidays! Usually I take the bare minimum because my husband is off with our daughter, but this year I want to spend time with BOTH of them.
Since I get 16 days off work for the holiday I am going to spend one of them at a spa. I am getting the works massage, manicure, pedicure, hair then meeting my husband for a night out with all the kids safely at home with their grandma!
I am getting my hair cut for the first time n almost a year! Times have been tough and I stay so busy with all the kids activities! Can’t wait for my haircut!!
I am not doing anything for myself for Christmas. That’s because I am saving up my money for my Spring plans. My girlfriends and I are planning a weekend getaway (boy do we deserve it), no kids, no husband just fun and relaxation. We haven’t gotten all the details together, but I know it will be exciting. A couple of things that we talked about doing is going to spa…get massage, facials, mani/pedi, body wraps, the works. Whatever it takes to relax and just unwind.
It would be great if my family won this
Pedicures and massages are what keeps me going!!
Once a week, my mom and I go out for lunch without the kids
I Got my hair and Nails done this week and next week i will be getting a pedicure and maybe a new outfit for our annual Christmas party
I’m taking two weeks of vacation so I can spend that time with my now 7 week old little girl. With my husband and I both working I don’t feel like I get enough time with her. Her first Christmas and New Years will be so much fun!
I’m going to get a pedicure. Being 8 months pregnant, I can’t even see my feet anymore let alone put lotion on them!
I’m going to have all my girlfriends over for a night to papmer ourselves. Manicures, pedicures and massages! Leave all the X-Mas stress behind!!!
One thing I did for myself this year was finish preparations early for the first time ever! Now I can actually enjoy the next few weeks!
Thanx for the chance! xoxo Beckie
I’m allowing myself to not send Christmas cards this year. That extra time and expense is a big load off of my shoulders this year. Thanks for the giveaway!
I going to get a much needed hair cut and color.
After losing my job in June doing anything for
myself seems wrong. I spent all summer making
jellies and jams for gifts. I did a craft show in November and sold enought jelly and fresh baked bread to buy myself a small cappuccino
machine, so since I no longer can afford to splurge on a Starbucks now I can make my
beloved lattes myself.
I going to get a much needed hair cut and color and take the day off from everyone elses demands.
This year I am going to make a point of reminding myself what this holiday season is about. We as a society get caught up in the buying/spending and lose touch with the true meaning of Christmas. I am also going to enjoy having family closer by and remember our soldiers that are away from their families.
The special thing I am doing for myself this Christmas season is not to get too “busy” with things and take time to really enjoy this season with my family. I had all my shopping finished by the first week of December and now I am taking time to enjoy this special time of year. I love to bake, so I am planning on taking a day and doing this for me!
I’m going to get my nails done. Its such a treat!
Something special for me…mmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Well if I come up with the extra $, I will
go for a massage, that is my favorite way to
spend some quiet time, what a treat that is.
To light up my husband’s holiday, I am going to wrap myself in Christmas lights, plug them in and turn them on and then wake him up on Christmas morning. I hope it works better than wrapping myself up like a package.
I already went away for a couple of days. I needed to destress before the holidays. I am having a hard time dealing with christmas this year. This is the first one without my brother.
i just think i’m going to take off work for a coupke of weeks or so so then that way i get a break and still have time for everything i have to do
This year, as a treat to myself, I made a promise that I would not create additional debt. I am paying for everything with cash. I created a budget for myself. Whatever I cannot buy within my allotted budget, I will not buy. I use to get caught up in sales but quickly learned that its only a sale if you can afford to buy it.
I had a complete hysterectomy four weeks ago so I am really taking advantage of the fact the doctor told me to take it easy. My husband has really been great!
The one thing I am going to do this year is not let myself is not to sweat the small stuff. Let the kids go crazy on Christmas morning, not rushing to go here or go there. I am done with my shopping so I can enjoy the rest of the month without worrying about that extra stress!
This holiday season I deserve to carve out some time for myself. Because of this post I’ve figured out what I’m going to do! I’m going to send Daddy and kiddos to the library, soak in the tub, read and paint my toenails. It’s been waaaaaay too long. Thanks for such a great giveaway.
I am going to have my hair cut and colored next week (to cover the gray…of course) and take off between Christmas and New Year’s to do nothing!!!
While Christmas shopping, I’ve picked up a few things for myself that were on amazing sales. I’m wearing my new green fuzzy sweater today! It’s so warm and cozy!
A special thing for me…well, I have baby #2 due December 26. I have asked the doctor to let us go early if it’s ok. That way I can be home for Christmas. For me, I will be letting my mom cook Christmas dinner (even if it doesn’t end up being on Christmas!)
I am going to schedule an appointment for a much needed massage and a facial.
I’m not worring about all the baking & cooking this year. I’m fixing simpler dishes & using prepackaged cookie dough & pie crust. My daughter & I still have the fun of baking; but mom has less work & clean up. With sales & coupons I’m actually spending less on prepackaged items than purchasing ingredients to make from scratch. More time for mom & less money spent. Everyone is happy!
I lay on the couch in front of the Christmas tree and take the time to enjoy the beauty of the season.
I just had a baby this summer, so this is the first year I am home and not working. This year for ME, I am taking time to sit down every morning before she wakes up to drink hot chocolate and read my devotions in front of the tree as I listen to Christmas music. It’s one of my favorite times of the day before the hussle and bussle starts.
This year I am not stressing over buying the kids everything they want. I made a budget and I stuck to it. No more filler gifts just so they had more presents to open. Much less stressful for me.
Just recently I had been sick and had a little scare. It took for this experience to happen for me to realize what is truly important. I have made a promise to take better care of myself healthwise. As a mom, we take care of our families and neglect ourselves. However, I cannot go that if I am sick. So I will take better care of myself, take that much needed physical and get all the treatment that I need. I want dearly to see the sun rise and set.
This would save us tons of money!!!
The best thing I do for myself for the holidays is make sure I give the gift of giving instead of giving to myself. I feel so good when I do this. This year I bought 2 comforters for seniors that needed them. It broke my heart to hear that seniors wanted blankets to keep warm. So often we forget our seniors. That was the best thig I did for myself this year.
I don’t get much time with just me and the girls, since we always bring our kids along, but this year my sister and I planned shopping trips, kid free. After shopping we go have coffee or grab lunch. It’s been fun being able to talk without having to “talk over” the kids.
I have an appointment next Saturday, at a high-end department store for a make-up consultation, I havent had one of these in years. I am so very much looking forward to this pampering, as my health has went down over the past 4 years. This is the boost I need. Thanks for a great giveaway!! Jackie
I am almost done with my Christmas shopping, so I can enjoy baking right before Christmas. Also, I made an appointment for a haircut next week, so that I will look and feel my best.
This year I have 2 grandchildren so I am trying to savor each moment. Grandchildren make the holidays so special and they grow up so fast!
My husband is ill, but I’m going to get all dolled up and attend our annual holiday party with a girl friend.
I purchased Bath and Bodys Twisted mint body wash to use this holiday season. With 4 kids I love my time in the shower and the body wash makes it extra special!
I am trying not to stress myself out! I started getting bad headaches a few days ago, so yesterday I ordered, (for MYSELF!!) a Peppermint Stick Headache & Stress Eraser. I can’t wait to use it… I love the smell of peppermint and I hope it helps! Thanks! I would LOVE to win this! my2sillyluvbugs@sbcglobal.net
The ladies in our family are taking a special time to get together for lunch. IT is wonderful to be able to do this when everyone is so busy!
hmmmm why did my comment show up above? by Latonia?
Hmmm… It’s been a really long time since I have done something for myself. I think this year I will just let go and not worry too much about housework until the kids go back to school.
Happy Holidays!
I DECIDED TO SPLURGE AND GET FACIAL.
Most definately coloring my grays!
Our local training school for massage therapists are offering $20 massages. i’m going to treat myself to one & not feel guilty because the cost is a great deal especially in this economy.
The most important thing i do is after a rushed day i sit in a bubblebath with music and TRY to relax. Sometimes, this does not happen for the phone rings or family need something.
MY FIANCE AND I ARE HAVING THE FAMILY
FOR CHRISTMAS EVE. I AM VERY EXCITED
TO BE THE HOSTESS THIS YEAR AND SHOW OFF
OUR NEW HOME.
As a treat to myself during this holiday season I am finally going to finish using a gift certificate that my husband gave me earlier in the year for a massage.
This year as a treat for myself I’ve taken a week off of work just to have some time off. That way I won’t be rushed to wrap all the gifts or to finish buying all the presents since I’ll have the whole week before Christmas off!
I am finished shopping and wrapping. That was the thing I did for myself, I finished all of that early so there will be no last minute, “Omigosh I forgot!” moment.
What a great giveaway! We go through so much TP, lol!
We are very short on money this year so aren’t able to buy as much. We are focusing on making some gifts together as a family. I didn’t realize less money would be a good thing but now I am not stressing about what to get and if I got the kids the same number of presents. I did. One.
I could go on and on about all the cool things I am doing for myself to pamper myself, but reality is that with these tough times, I am not getting pampered at all. I am geting my son a gift which makes me feel good and smile. A smile is all the pampering I need. Heather
heatherrussell@cox.net
This year, I decided to get myself a brand name handbag that I have always wanted. I’m saving my money for it already.
The night before Christmas Eve I am going to take a hot bubble bath, light some candles and have a glass of wine. I plan to stay in there until I shrivel. This is something I never take the time to do and it’s so relaxing.
Wow thats a great offer. Have a merry merry christmas to everyone.
I am slowing down to enjoy my children, ages 4 and 6. That is something we forget to do sometimes when things are so crazy and it is something you can never get back.
Because my first baby is due in late January, I am taking extra special care of myself this holiday season. My favorite idea (courtesy of a gift card from my co-workers) is to get a pregnancy massage later this month to relax and take some time to myself. Thanks!
I just ordered some little goodies for myself from sephora.com. Some bubble bath and fun makeup. I also found a really cute little pair of black pumps. I bought them and told hubby he HAS TO take me out for New Years so I will have some place to wear them!
We always purchase Scott products the rolls of toilet tissue lasts a good while and when you have kids in the house that is a big plus.
When my best friend comes to visit her family for the holiday, we are going to have a girl’s night out. I will get my husband to babysit and make the kids dinner. I will treat myself to great food and much needed conversation with an old friend.
I’m a SAHM and this year I am taking the time to give myself some quiet time. I really just want to have some time to reflect and relax.
Well, since we’ve had a huge economic downturn this year, I am sacrificing way more than usual, but I guess one thing I am doing for myself has been going out for dessert with my friend. Even if I only spend a couple of dollars, it’s nice to hang out with another adult minus children.
Thanks for the chance,
Beth
wow this would be a great prize to win.
I think everyone should take a day for themselves to relieve some of the holiday stress. I’m going to have a day out with my best friend which also happens to be my mom. we are going to get our hair done and go to lunch and then do what ever we want for the rest of the day.
where do you sign up for the scott give away, all i have found is a page talking about it and comments. thanks lbc
This is a special Christmas for me simply because my husband and I have one son from his previous marriage but we had our first child together in March of this year. We are celebrating his first Christmas this year and one special thing I am doing for myself this Christmas is having our pictures done.
I bought myself a new camera to take great shots of my four kids at christmas.
The holidays season is always a fun but hectic time of the year for me. Being a single mother, Ive always had to work three jobs and try to keep up with the decorating, shopping, cooking, cleaning and schoolwork. I dont really know how to pamper myself, my daughter always comes first. Having a healthy, happy child is the greatest gift of all…love you Thai!!!
Everyone can use this give away. Christmas or anytime..
I subscribe as well
I’m taking advantage of having my kids’ aunt and grandmother in town for 5 weeks by going out ALONE shopping and on dates with my hubby! Yea for FREE baby-sitting!
I am driving 9 hours by myself to go visit my kids and grandkids. My sweet hubby is staying home to take care of our 18 year old cat.
wow this would be a great prize to win.

This year I’m not stressing out about the holidays. Usually I’m running around trying to get everything done that I feel obligated to do – baking, gift buying, writing cards, etc – but this year I’m absolving myself of doing all that. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing. Thanks for the chance to win!

That’s a hard one…but I have to say that buying gifts for other people truly does make me happy. I’m always in a great mood after I’ve found the perfect give, wrapped it up beautifully, and anticipate the excitement of the big day — so I guess it’s for ME too!!
)
IM JUST TAKE PLEASURE IN SEEING MY KIDS SMILE ON CHRISTMAS DAY.
To pamper myself during the holidays after family and friends come over for my Christmas Dinner going to sit in front of the TV with hubby watching Christmas shows and eating popcorn and hating myself afterwards for eating so much and trying to figure just how much I have to starve myself beginning New Years for consuming all of that great food?
I am making time every morning to get on the treadmill. I walk for only 30 minutes but it sure is eleviating my stress and making it easier to get through the day!
My special thing I am doing is going to watch my children open their presents and enjoy them. That will be my treat.
I like the tip about the sticky tape residue and using deoderant to get it off the wall. This will save a WHOLE lot of time when clean up time arrives after Christmas!
As for treating myself: a girlfriend and I will be spending the day together getting a pedicure, eyebrow wax, and maybe even splurging on a manicure! NO KIDS, NO HUBBIES!!
I hope I win!
I am having my haircut at a place that rubs your shoulders and scalp while they wash your hair. It’s wonderful, and it is my treat to myself.
would love to win
I am a mom of 2 girls aged 1 and 4 and I have no idea what “Me Time” is. I think if I could find out I would just sleep in….Sleep is very rare when I stay home with them all day and work 4 to 12’s.
hmm…this shouldn’t be tough. MOMs give too much!
I received a 10.00 free card to use at Victoria’s Secret. Whatever I purchase from there will definitely be a gift for myself. Can’t wait to escape to the mall by myself one of these days.
My treat this year and last was to have my daughter and her suite mates from college come over one day and decorate my house. College kids work for food so I made them some homemade chicken and rice soup, homemade bread, etc. It was fun to have them over and a blessing to have someone help with the decorations.
As a mother of 3 (2 year old twins and a 5 year old) and I work full time in the office there is not much time for me. So this holiday season I plan on spending some alone time with the hubby after the kids go to bed. Just talking about nothing and just loving each other and enjoying the short quiet time with one another.
With every step we take our feet take two. I believe we put so much attention on every other body part we forget how precious our feet really are,so this year for Christmas I’m treasuring my feet with a new pair of boiled wool slipper shoes from Germany. Everytime I wear them I believe my feet feel gratefull for taking such good care of them! Happy Holidays and don’t forget how important your feet really are this season.
I climb into a warm bubble bath each time I feel stress….I’m awfully ‘pruney’ this Christmas season!
not exactly doing for myself…love doing things for others but what i have been doing for a while now and will continue to do is try losing weight…would love to get down to 150 so lots of work to do …would be my gift to me
This year I am having my best friend over for the holidays (she lives many states away). It should be so fun, I haven’t seen her in a year!
It may seem odd, but one thing I am doing for myself is pitching and organizing around the whole house. As the mama, I’m the one who always ends up trying to find the unfindable, clean the uncleanable, so a little extra organization will help me out the most.
Well as a stay at home mom that runs a daycare, how I keep my sanity, especially during this time of year, is once a week a group of my girlfriends get together & go out for a girls night. All we do is hit a local resturant for some appetizers and lots of girl talk. But it helps all of us to unwind and gives us much needed girl time.
This is a must item for every household in the world.
One thing that I am doing for myself this year is not getting stressed out about buying gifts for family and friends. I decided the gifts should be about the giving not the amount.
I feel happier when I watch it snow!! It is so beautiful! You might as well enjoy what we get than scream when you see it snow!
I am a stay at home mom with 2 kids. So this holiday season we will be spending time with “Dad” considering he works so hard to provide for his family.
I plan to spend as much time as possible with my “adopted granddaughter”. She makes me laugh and feel young!
Baking cookies with my grandsons is something that we all look forward to. It teaches them math and measuring. We love to bake together!
One gift to myself is knowing that I am a good Mom. I do not have to worry about what my sisters think of the gift I bought them (I bought Vera Bradley bags on sale). I have decided to be the best I can be no matter my circumstances…that is my gift to myself this season!
Well, with all the holiday baking and cooking I will be doing, I took advantage of some of the awesome sales and bought myself a new stand mixer. YEAH!
one thing I am doing for myself…I am sending the kiddos off to my moms for several days. Its really a double deal. She gets to spend time with the grandkids and I get the much needed down time to finish up Christmas shopping, alone time with the hubby and the other things that I have neglected over the past few months
I am going to go get a haircut. By myself, no kids.
This year I have gifted myself extra sleep. I have just found out I am prego with my 3 child. I have a 3 yr old & 2 yr old little girls. I put them in bed by 7:30 or 8 pm. Then I have a cup of hot cocoa & go to bed.
I am taking myself to get a facial. Something I love and never do for myself.
I will be pampering myself with a massage. It feels so go to relax even if it is just for 1 hour.
I am going to treat myself with a massage, manicure, shampoo and style and a whirlpool for myself for the holiday season.I am a mother of four and also a stay at home mother and I usually never get time for myself so I am looking forward to this day to just relax and enjoy it while it lasts.
Hi,
This year I am going to take all the extra time I can get and spend it with my husband. We were just told that he has Alzheimers….so, I want to be with him as much as possible. He has always put me first. Now, it is my time to take care and do for him. He is a good person and, I pray God grants me this wish – to be able to keep my health so, that I may be able to take care of him !
Kindly
Bea
Well, being 7 months pregnant and having 3 other kids running around, I plan on taking a long bath. Sounds silly, but I haven’t been able to for quite some time. You know the kind where you set candles around you and put bubbles in the water! Since my husband will be off from work, this will finally be my chance to relax and think about myself a little. I also plan on getting a well deserved pampering at the salon. YEAH! I cannot wait!
I’m going out with my friends. A movie and dinner and lots of talk.
I just bought a few gifts for myself.
Getting my haircut and colored!
with a little one running around I really don’t get much me time, but I do enjoy her naps in teh afternoon. I sit on the porch with a nice warm cup of tea
One special thing I am doing for myself for Christmas is that instead of giving each other gifts, my husband and I are going to Vegas the weekend after Xmas! Yay!
I started early on my shopping this year, and most of it is already done. I only have maybe 2 or 3 people left to buy for, and I already know what I am getting. This has made it a lot easier to take a little time for myself and not get all stressed out this year.
Boy!! I must say this one giveaway would be SO worth it with 4 kids 2 that are teenagers and then the twins that are 4. Clean up wouldn’t be so bad , wouldn’t run out so fast.
I am planning a night (by myself) and I am going to have a chick flick marathon!!!
This year I’ve decided to take a little time each day and just relax and completely enjoy the season. I don’t worry about any of the stresses of this time of year. I just focus on the beauty…whether it’s soaking in a tub listening to Christmas music, reading quietly next to my tree or baking just for the sheer joy of it. I am truly enjoying the sights, smells and sounds of the holidays this year.
I will treat myself to a nice dinner and i will take myself on a shopping spree. And I know I still have to stick within my budget but I as long as I am happy I am good.
This Christmas season I’m allowing myself to say no to some things that aren’t necessary for my family’s celebration. We’re doing things together as a family and focusing on those who have needs. I’m much happier.
I’m getting together with my 3 sisters and Mom for a little “girl” time. It’s been years since we’ve all been together! Can’t wait!
I am so excited to go to the Branson Landing this weekend. There are fountains and fire shows to music plus Christmas lights galore. It is a brick lined outdoor shopping center next to the river and will be lovely to stroll along Saturday night, ahhhhhh.
This has been an extremely stressful year, my business went under and I just had a baby 3 months ago and we have been financially challenged for tha past 8 months. I have found that the best pick me up is to kick everyone out of the house, blast up my favorite praise and worship music and clean the house without anyone undoing my hard work at the same time.
One thing Im doing for myself this holiday is taking time to enjoy my family. I want to laugh with my kids and family. Let all my worries go away for awhile. Just put it all in Gods hands.
This year I am just going to stress over the holidays! I am going to get some much needed rest. I have gone back to school after 19 yrs, (big adjustment). The kids and I are going to do alot of baking and making candy.Merry Christmas to you all!!!
I think the chicken cleaning idea is the best! I’ve never tried it, but will on our next chicken meal. Cleaning is the worst part.
I am asking Grandma to take my 2 girl for a day. I will order pizza and watch movies at home with peace and quite.
I’m going to have a night out with my friends and go to a movie. I don’t need anything but good quality time with a great bunch of girls. The night out will be a well deserved break from this holiday season even if it’s only for a few hours.
I have been online shopping for clearance clothes for myself since I won’t let my husband buy for me (I am picky). This will be his gift to me for Christmas. Saves him from buying something I might not like and saves me money because I always buy things on sale.
I will be going to the movies this weekend (with out the kids)
My mom has offered to watch all 4 of my kids so I can have some time to myself. Being a single mom just doesn’t allow this to happen to offten.
I can’t wait!!!
What a great giveaway. I am going to take myself Tuesday to get a pedicure while Bear is at Mother’s Day out. I deserve a little treat after all the Christmas shopping, wrapping, cooking, baking and decorating.
Great giveaway! I am giving myself an entire weekend of uninterrupted baking. I love to bake, and hardly ever have time to, so this weekend, I am baking tons of cookies and fudge!! I know, sounds like work, but it is something I really like to do.
I will be getting a manicure and pedicure and taking long hot bubble baths.
I am going to spend my time with my husband and two little ones. My husband is on vacation and I stay home. So the paper towels free for a year would sure fit right into our budget.
Something for myself…HMMM, thats a tough call..Christmas is a wonderful time of year for my family because everyone comes home, however Christmas was my mothers favorite thing,When she passed on I tryed to carry on the traditions that I love so very much,But I always noticed she never did for herself, always for others, when I saw this prize I realized I too do the same thing, its not about me its about my family, SO i gave it some thought and what I plan on doing for me is this: I’m going to write in my journal what each of my children and my grandchildren mean to me and why they make my Christmas so special!!
For myself, I will be getting my hair done and I will purchasing one or two new outfits.. Not much, but it works for me!!
I am taking a whole day to treat myself to makeup over, manicure and pedicure. And then later spend some quite time to relax with a cup of tea and a good book while the rest of the family is out.
Taking a nap at some point.
We have extra money this year because of my coupon shopping. My husband surprised me with a gold bracelet for my birthday. It had charms of your sons on it. We could not have afforded such a luxury one year ago!
Treating myself involves a hot spiced tea and warm fireplace. (I’m VERY low maintenance!)
Believe it or not, I will be cleaning my house from top to bottom like a mad woman! I find that when my house is neat and tidy, I’m less stressed and can enjoy myself more. I will send everyone out of the house, roll up my sleeves, and do it.
It’s very satisfying!
This year I am going to finally get the haircut I’ve been putting off (because of the cost) for several months. And I’m going back to my favorite salon with the $70 haircuts…because I deserve it!
Sounds silly, but I’m looking forward to my Christmas eyebrow wax! I’m a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to that stuff, but it’s so nice to have someone else do it for once.
This year I am going to treat myself to a nice, quiet relaxing Christmas Eve. Hubby and I are going to light some of my Mia Bella Candles, light a fire in the fireplace, put on some soft Christmas tunes and ejoy a bottle of wine together. We have waited a long time to share a quiet and peaceful Christmas Eve together!
I am taking time out for some quiet me time to read Christmas novels.
I like to indulge myself by getting my hair done & nails but maybe I’ll give myself a little more by getting a massage.
I am getting myself in shape and eating right. It feels good to focus on me this season instead of eating all the sweets that have been coming in.
This year i am taking time to have lunch with friends once a week. This is something I have never done for myself..but with 5 kids the lunch with another adult is absolute heaven.
Hi Would love to win this. Unemployment is no fun this would help at the perfect moment! No shopping here!
Happy Hoildays!
Rose
This holiday season i promised myself that i would not stress (ha i know soo many are laughing at me) But soo far i’ve only broke that rule a little – Anytime i start to freak out a little, i remember why the holidays are so special to me, and why waste it being upset.
Remember the holidays aren’t just about getting presents, they are about being with the ones you love and letting everything go just a little – Make some hot coco sit back and listen to some x-mas music, you will be glad you did!
i’m not worrying about stuff-what gets done gets done!
Well, this year, for the first time since my son was born (and he is almost five now) my husband and I actually got something for ourselves, usually we just get each other a Christmas Card and spend our money on getting our son presents and clothes, and traveling because all of our family lives far away, well this year, since I have been couponing, we have been able to save more money and we went out and got a great deal on a TV and we have had the same TV for 10 years and when we got it, it was already 5 years old used, so this was a big deal. I had gotten tired of being unable to read the menu on the tv when I wanted to change shows, because the picture was so bad. So we treated ourselves to a modest, but nice 27″ TV and it is wonderful!!!
Please enter me in this great giveaway. It would help so much. I am giving myself permission to not get stressed this holiday season about money. And the gifts I am giving are homemade baked good in nice tins.
I’m going to do a serious deep conditioner on my hair and soak my feet without being in a rush! I’m working on organizing my life a little more to incorporate more ME time each and every day and not just on special days!
I would LOVE to win this prize
I am going to have my vehicle scrubbed inside and out, replace the windshield due to a rock that has created a crack and enjoy my wonderful white 2005 pickup because she will be paid off in a few months! Thank You GOD!!!
I am taking the week off between Christmas and New Year’s to relax.
I need to lock myself in my bathroom and for at least two hours. I’ll finally get some time to myself. I will begin with the OLAY beauty facial. Also, I’ll be touching up the hair color. I have learned to do; because my best friend who is a licensed cosmetologist. Also, after the hair color, I’ll be trying one some new nail color. After drying and setting my hair in hot rollers. I’ll be ready to put on my new face with a smile and re-enter my house anewed! YEAH!
One special thing I’ve decided to do this year is to not let myself stress out about anything. Usually I get so wrapped up in making everything “perfect” that I can’t really enjoy anything but this year I’m trying very hard to enjoy the season.
In order to take care of me this holiday season, I am doing more of what I love to do. Hot bubble baths, cuddling with my daughter and reading a good children’s book (also cuddling with a blanket and reading a good book), watching romantic-comedies, learning to do meditations. With busy schedules and whatnot, making time is hard to do, but so far I have done great!
I’m going to enjoy some of those holiday goodies!!!
I am not taking on the hectic travel schedule I normally attempt to do for the holidays with my family living out of state. I am going to take more time being at home and enjoying the holidays and will travel after the rush is over. I’m relieved already!
Great giveaway! A simple thing that helps me through the holiday season is a relaxing bubble beth after the kiddos go to sleep.
I’m moving into a new house no more apartments for me!
i’m trying not to stress out but i have 4 kids and no budget
I’m realizing I can’t make it perfect. And perfect isn’t necessary. So it’s okay to stop and just enjoy what IS without all the unreachable expectations!
One thing I am doing for myself this season-not stressing out! I just had a dinner for all of my girlfriends (15) and had an elaborate meal planned. My husband suggested to order the food so I could enjoy time with my friends which I did. This was the best suggestion he ever gave me!
Making each family member something from the heart is my special treat to myself. Nothing feels as good as giving from the heart and seeing others reactions to home made gifts.
I love crafts and they can be so inexpensive!
I bought myself jewelry. Yeah me.
I am treating myself with a new hair do. Hopefully it will look nice. I’m also taking a ME day. Which almost never happens. So that is totally enough for me.
I treat myself with dessert almost every night. With chasing the kids I feel I am working off the calories and need them. Chick-fil-a milkshakes are my favorite.
I plan to make this as stress free a Christmas as possible. This year I really want to enjoy Christmas through the eyes of my grandchildren and enjoy the wonder of it all.
I am treating myself by not overbuying!
this year to treat myself I will be going out of town to visit my parents with my daughter. we don’t get to see them nearly enough- and my hubby will be working- so he won’t even miss us. He’ll meet us there on Christmas Eve so we will all be together for the Holiday!
I would love to win- what a great giveaway!!!
This holiday season the one gift I would like to give myself is to go visit my mom and family up north , I m iss her and I just want to be able to spend as much time with her as possible. I get to see her once a year if I’m lucky, so its very hard. That is the only thing I want for Christmas is to pend it with my Mom , Dad, my sisters and of course my husband.
I’m also trying not to get sucked into all the commercialism during the holidays, it can really overwhelm a person, so I’m making these lists and setting myself some goals to get them knocked out by a certain time so that I don’t get too stressed out, As soon as I buy gifts I wrap them up, I try not to let any chores or things that I need to do pile up so as to be able to enjoy the holidays instead of wearing myself out.
Thank you for the chance to participate in this giveaway. It would be great to win.
I’m making baked goods something i haven’t done in years

I’m making an appt with the massage therapist
I like to curl up with a good book and tune out the world
I know this doesn’t sound like something one would do for oneself but while I was out Christmas shopping I splurged and bought not one but two new crock pots. Our church does a fellowship every Saturday before church begins and I was tired of packing that old ragged crockpot. So, Merry Christmas to me.
I’m simplifying what we’re doing this Christmas – less stress for me, more fun for those around me!
Tomorrow I’m marathon Christmas shopping. However, I plan on taking a mani/pedi break half way through the day. It feels so great to look down and see your nails looking amazing.
I am getting a pedi/mani for myself and a gift card for Starbucks….yummy
My best stress reliever (treat for myself) is to grab a nap for twenty minutes whenever I can. Of course, I can nap standing up!
All I can say is I need this, I want this….
I am trying to relax at night with soothing music, especially while taking my shower. These days I am under a lot of stress. My son-in-law is having quadruple bypass surgery today, and his wife, my daughter is pregnant, due in June ‘09.
My special thing is to spend more time with my daughters doing Christmassy things like baking and crafting. I always get caught up in the rushing around of the season and don’t get to do the family things I say I will.
I am planning a beauty saturday to get away from the kids and my husband is taking care of the house that day!!!
During this crazy season and difficult times due to having a child who has disabilities and special needs I try to take the time to number one is breath and then to help others who are less fortunate than me. To relax I like to take a bath and spend time with friends and my family
i HAVE FIVE CHILDREN SO THIS WOULD BE REALY GREAT TO HAVE
This year I am buying myself a new bath robe. I want a big fluffy soft one and I am treating myself!
This year I am learning to say “no” to hosting all the holiday parties, for myself and my sanity. I am only 1 person and can not do and be everything for everbody.
I totally bought myself a kick butt camera. I got a nikon d40 so I can take some great holiday pics this year!!
Bootyemo@yahoo.com
Well,,, this year I am going to Florida and get out of the cold…
One thing I am doing for myself this Holiday season is having a manicure/pedicure.
I’m 8 months pregnant for this holiday season, so I am cutting back on the frenzy of things and really enjoying the holiday for what it is. Decorating has been a blast with my 2 year old, and we minimized all shopping to just gifts for the kids. It’s so much more fun!
Well, I just took a temporary layoff at work, so I am at home during the day. This has really been a blessing to me. It gives me time to spend at my children’s school during those holiday parties or just having lunch or even reading a book. I also catch up on house work and decoraing for Christmas!
This year for Christmas I am going to take more time to read. I love to read and I usually do not have the time.
I am planning a Christmas Day AT HOME! We aren’t running to 5 different houses! We are filling our house with wonderful smells and enjoying the day!
I’m going to a tea party tomorrow. Usually I would turn down such a luxury since we have so many Christmas obligations, but my hubby encouraged me to go, so I am.
This year, as a treat to myself, I am taking 2 weeks of vacation to get to relax. I’m very excited to have this time off, as I will get to spend it with my child. I have never got the 2 weeks off the same weeks my child is out of school. I will get to spend some quality time with my child.
I have been letting my husband go hang out with the boys and watch football every Sunday so every Saturday until Christmas I will be shoppping alone and enjoying some “me” time.
I always design and order a family photo album to me from me and I have the best time opening it on Christmas morning and re-living the year with my family in pictures.
This year, I’m relaxing more. I’m not stressing over the holidays. If it gets done, good. If not, oh well.
I only buy scoots tissue. I will scimp on other things but not that. It lasts longer and with as many people I have in my house. It’s the best value
I treat myself to a haircut and style so that I feel put together for the holidays.
I’m letting myself off the hook to not do everything and make everything perfect. I’m taking naps.
Enjoy your website. For the very first time, instead of shopping for hours and hours for eah and every gift. My husband and I sent money to our children and grandchildren for Christmas. I was worried that someone would be disapointed or that I would miss all the waiting in lines, looking for just the right gift. But, this time, I didn’t. Everyone seems to be content with the money and they can purchase anything they want. So, a win-win.
On Christmas Eve, we have a large family and a fantastic get-together with a huge meal, each adult fixes a take-home bag, read the birth of Jesus from the Bible, opening of presents-starting with the youngest to the oldest. On Christmas morning, we visit with each of our children, grandchildren and great-grands–come home, and relax. I would spend the Visa card on a get-away overnight for my husband and I, since we have grandchildren four days a week. What a treat that would be just to spend quality time together!!
I’ve always been more about making Christmas special for everyone around me. This year I’m 5 months pregnant with some strange food dislikes so instead of doing the big holiday ham dinner, I’m making my absolute favorite meal and everyone in the family is going along with it for this year.
To pamper myself this year….I’m letting my hubby pick out his gift so I dont have to worry about it (and since I am unemployed right now…he pays for it too!) And I’m not gonna go crazy buying gifts for every person!!
I spent time shopping with my cousin and catching up on each other’s lives. It was great!
After giving birth 6 weeks ago, and chasing around my 16 month old, I plan on treating myself to a massage ASAP!
I have developed skin damage over the years always negelected my skin I am getting some laser skin treatments done and finally taking care of my skin.
I have a 3 month old baby boy.I am breastfeeding so it is hard to get any alone time. This christma season my husband and I are going to his christmas party. To some people thats not doing something for myself. To me it will be much needed night out for my husband and I. A chance to get all dressed up and spend an evening without spitup on my shoulder will be priceless.
I am learning to say no to the things that are not necessary and yes to the things that will leave a lasting memory in the hearts of my family. It takes the stress out of the holiday and puts the fun back in.
I enjoy sitting by my christmas tree with a cup of hot chocolate while my husband entertains our 19 month old son.
I’m spending more time with my spouse and less time worrying about the things that I can’t control.
I loved the ice in the pet dish tip. I am sure it will keep it fresh longer as well as cold.
I am having a pedicure all winter long, I usually do it in the summer because everyone sees my feet, but for myself Ive decided to continue in the winter because they feel better and get so dry in the winter.
This year I’m spending Christmas at home in Mexico. This is the best gift I have given me this year love to spend time with family.
My husband treated the girls in the family to a day at the Spa. This was so relaxing and we has so much fun just talking and spending the day together.
I’m going to treat myself next week with a massage (got a coupon) and a hair cut. With money being so tight right now I don’t treat myself so much, but thought if I feel better I’m work better……
I am going to get my haircut and try to find a little time to read while my husband is home for the holiday.
My husband and I are getting a room for the night 12-13-2008 at a really nice hotel w/ all the bells and whistles. It’s been 3 yrs since we have had a night away from the kids and we are really looking forward to it.
I am going on a date with my husband next Friday night.
I’m eating all the cookies I can find
One special thing I am doing for myself this holiday season is I am taking the time out to enjoy lunch each shopping day….ALONE at a really nice restaurant. I have a husband and four kids so it is hard to get much alone time.
I found myself a new lotion that smells great!
I am going to treat myself to a massage!
the only time i get to myself is when my daughter goes for a nap thats when i drink my coffee, surf the web and shower. awwwww shower….
As for myself I will be taking some much needed vaction from work !!
I am going to enjoy family at christmas because I have learned not to sweat the small stuff. I am looking forward to our large family getting together.
One Special thing I am going to do for myself this holiday is buy myself a new belt. I’ve own this worn down belt that was handed down from my bff 2yrs ago and I wear it so much, that one of the holes broke. So I am going to treat myself with a new belt for christmas this year.
What a great giveaway! I am going to purchase Jill Peterson’s book “Homestead” over the holidays so I can sit down, relax and look at great primative decorating! Now that’s my idea of therapy!
I went for hypnosis! I wanted to calm down and enjoy myself through the holidays and I thought it would be the perfect stress reliever. So far it’s working wonders!
My favorite treat is a long hot bath and a good book and total silence in the house!
I am taking a daily dose of Emergen-C to ward off any chance of a cold or flu. Thanks for the giveaway!
Oh man…I have a 13 month old son, and I have to be honest with you-in my 22 years of life, I have only been to a salon twice. Once, b/c I cut my hair diagonally, so my grandma took me to ‘get it fixed’-instead she made them give me a BOYS hair cut! *i was in 1st grade, & mortified!! (i have really dark CURLY hair, so the length you cut it at, my hair ends up shorter than that!)
The 2nd time was for my father’s wedding. My mother went to beauty school when I was super young, so she’s always done my hair. I want something different! =)
I love Christmas music and it’s a free treat so I listen to it several hours a day. Thanks for the great giveaway!
Happy Holidays! Seeing I have lost 43 lbs, I plan on buying myself a new outfit for my husband’s work Christmas party. Nothing like a new outfit to pamper myself.
I just have not shopped for the last 3 months. It is surprising how much hassle that takes off ones shoulders. I kept small things thru the year as I shopped for new clothes and toys for kids, and hid them. All I need to do is wrap them. After all, not having extra money keeps things simple, and more meaningful!
I won’t be treating myself this year to anything that is that has to do with money. My treat is going to be spending time with my Husband and Son as a family.. This is all I need I do appreciate you offering this contest and thanks for allowing me to enter..
treating myself by not stressing and taking a few min to read the paper and enjoy life by looking around me at my 4 kids– i’ll worry about no budget and the bills after my cup of tea
Last year at T-giving and Christmas I was in bed recovering from 2 back surgeries. Amazingly, the family coped quite well. My treat to them is to allow them the joy of coping well again! It is surprising how so much can go “undone” and still have a blessed holiday. My daughter likes to shop and decorate, so am leaving that to her. My sons are great cooks–Voila, have at it, boys, while I am reading and watching movies!
I treat myself by getting some alone time away from the 4 kids and hubby for an hour or two.
A good haircut and regular trips to the gym make a world of difference for me!
I am going to take things at a slower pace this year. Who cares if the house is perfect or all of the laundry is done? I’m just going to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and enjoy my family that I have been blessed with.
One special thing I will being doing this year, is getting my nails done. I love doing this and never find the time.
I try to take a couple of hours every evening to relax by myself after my family has gone to sleep. I generally spend the time looking at magazines or reading blogs and finding fun project ideas. I love that time of day!
~ Jennifer
What am I doing for me? Instead of caving in to the holiday temptations I am focusing on my health goals. I am continuing to go to the gym and not eating junk! Of course I am allowing myself small holiday treats in moderation.
This Christmas I am making a point to focus on the little things. Last year I lost my mom at the age of 50 to heart disease and the season was not so jolly without her but this year I decided to model my moms “little touches” and make some new ones myself. I am droping more coins in the red kettles, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, and reflecting on all the “little things” my mom did for me and doing them for everyone around me and those I do not know which in turn is better than therapy. I do spluge and get a festive hot choloclate once and a whille but don’t tell my husband.
I play the guitar to unwind at the end of the day.
This year, my special treat is doing the Christmas shopping ALONE! My husband is more of a hinderance, than a help when it comes to shopping. So, this year, we worked together on a list of things and he’s going to watch the baby while I take an evening or two on my own to shop ’til I drop! And there might be a quick stop for a coffee or ice cream somewhere in there too!
since i m stay at home mom, This i would like to all year around- i like to watch TV or Read when my dear husband is putting my two kids to sleep, that is my METIME for myself.
And during holiday time or in the winter i would like to have hot tea or cocco any thing.
I am going with my mom and my little sister to get our nails done together at a salon. It’s a time to relax, a time to get pampered and ready for all the holiday parties but also some quality time to spend with family.
I am trusting Jesus with Christmas this year. I tend to fret and fuss a lot and thus the real reason to celebrate Christmas gets lost in the “doing.” I feel a greater peace and just want to abide there and see Christmas through my kids eyes this year.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Well, I am looking forward to see my family and getting some shopping done!.
HOpe to see my family and enjoy them no hassel
My partner and I are escaping to Vegas for a few days between Christmas and New Year’s, as our own little gift to ourselves
I am going to buy myself something this Christmas. I never buy myself anything. I havent decided yet, but I will make it something I have been wanting to purchase but just never did. Winning the Scott drawing would be so great and helpful to my family.
LOVE it – wow I would go to the movies and see one without animation go to a restaraunt without a kids meal!
This year I am also keeping myself stress free by not using my credit card. I will not be afraid of the mail in January!
I am planning a vacation to visit my sister in Florida. I’m not going until January 5th but whenever I get too stressed, I just think how soon I will be in the warm weather relaxing on the beach.
I am going to dye my hair a different color. I just got a giftset of pamper products for my birthday. I am going to lock myself in the bathroom and pretend I am at the spa. My husband can watch the baby and the boys for an hour.
I am joining a gym and making my fitness a priority. Plus then I get some very needed “me” time! Guess my husband will have to figure out dinner a couple times a week!
Well, this year the gift I am giving myself is by changing how we will spend Christmas next year. This will finally be the last year that my husband and I drive to both of our family gatherings on both days. Next year we will start rotating so each family will have us for an entire day and we won’t look forward to it all being over!
I’m going to take a night out with the girls!
This year for Christmas, the only thing special I want to do for myself is to see the enjoyment on my 2 and 6 year olds faces. That is the best thing anyone could do.
I love this idea of doing something for “yourself”. As a mother of three active boys, I have not given that much of a thought through the hectic pre-season shopping etc. So, since you gave me the idea, I think I will have to go with getting a manicure/pedicure and possibly a facial before the holidays so nobody will know how haggered I really am!! THANKS!!
I am having my whole family at my house for Christmas dinner no gifts just family eating, relaxing and enjoying each others company but after everyones gone I am going to have some quiet time for me with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate.ahhhhhhhhhhh
I’m going to get my hair done. Something I rarely get to do by myself. I’m going to relax while getting it highlighted.
My husband and I both took the day off of work today, Friday the 12th. We took the kids to school then went and had breakfast together. Then we just spent the day with one another talking and catching up. No Christmas shopping or craziness…just the two of us together. Wonderful day!
Ths year the special thing that I am going to do for myself is to quit drinking. I owe it to myself and my family to be healthy.
I am spending extra time with my girlfriends during the next few weeks. We rarely get to have quality time together when all the kids are around so we are setting girl time aside. Should be super fun!
Baths!! It’s as simple as getting in a warm tub to help me destress and it doesn’t cost us extra money.
As a stay home mom of two young girls and my husband running his business it often seems we just make it though each crazy day. This season we plan to slow it down and enjoy the time our girls have out of school and make some holiday traditions and some great memories. We kicked it off by visiting a holiday light event and got to feed some animals. (As a plus the funds went to a charity!)I loved reading all the tips for great holiday! Thank you
I work in the food sevice industry and have a new job where I had Thanksgiving off and don’t have to work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. It has been years and I’m just going to enjoy the quiet time and cook our own dinner at my leisure.
i am a subscriber
Enjoy rare time daughter’s family and grandson and “grandpuppies”!
I am soaking in a nice hot bath in my jacuzzi tub, lights off, candles burning and playing a favorite cd of mine. Afterwards I’ll put on my warm cozy pj’s and curl up with a book.
My Favorite Scott’s comment would be the ironing one. Use a wet Scott’s paper towel over her clothes to refresh them.
One special thing that I am doing for myself this holiday season is to go and get my hair and nails done. With money being tight and three kids, I always put myself last of course.
I’m pregnant with twins so this year I’m getting a massage and having a relaxing day to myself.
I love Scott so I would LOVE to win this!
I am staying on my diet and making my family give me time for my work-outs. I hope to schedule a manicure and haircut soon!
This is a excellent giveaway!!
The one thing that I have decided to do for myself includes taking time off from work, I will be taking a 5 day weekend this week. During that time I plan to relax at home & do lots of baking. I am also spending a day out just me & my son. I love spending time with him.
We are trying to watch what we do this year. We are working on being debt free. We have had a couple real bad years with employment. The treating me part is just enjoying my 3 kids and loving husband. We do a lot of things together to create good memories without spending tons of money.
Something special that I am doing for myself is I am not doing a big Christmas dinner this year I am going to relax and enjoy the holiday’s with my daughter.
The one special thing I am doing for myself this holiday season is, the day after Christmas, I plan to treat myself to breakfast, movie and a present because Christmas is my birthday.
i am going to Christmas tea with my girlfriends!
While my husband takes the kids out shopping I plan to turn my home into my own personal spa (for one night at least).I bought a real nice bubble bath, I’ll light some candles and put on some soft music and spend a night relaxing. I’ll give myself a manicure and pedicure, mud my face, watch a movie and just chill.
Have all christmas shopping done at least 10 days before Christmas (which we did today-YAY!!!) and hubby & I, every day in Dec. have promised to give each other either a foot or back massage EVERY EVENING!!! and so far we HAVE stuck to it and LOVE it. Take Care & Merry Christmas to ALL!!! Rosemarie
This year I am taking myself to the ballet
I will be spending extra time with my family this Christmas. I’m only 26 and I have lost 4 grandparent’s and my father all since July. Never know what the Lord has in store for us. Just spend all the time you can while you can. That means more than anything else.
This year money is tight for us as I know it is for countless other families so to treat myself I try to spend at least one evening a week taking a bubble bath or stopping to watch a movie I want to see. Just some way to spend time on myself.
I am going to have my husband stay home with the kids while I go shopping.
Two words – annual pedicure!
I’m going to read a book by the end of the year!
I’m actually spending some time getting organized for the new year. Just makes me feel better feeling like I have a plan. Makes me smile.
During this busy and hectic time, I make sure to have some down time, by including an occasional massage. I have also told myself, that I must get at least 8 hours of sleep if necessary. I am also trying to make it to the gym everyday, even if I don’t feel like it. Those are just a few of the ways I take care of myself.
Thanks
This year Im going to start a new tradition for all the hard-working women in my family. I’m planning a girls nite out.
Hope I win!!
This holiday season I am going to take a day off of work and eat lunch with my friends and spend the rest of the day with my granddaughter in the park feeding the animals.
I got my highlights redone last week just in case I happen to wind up in any of our Christmas pictures!
Today I’m getting a pedicure! I can’t wait to show off my toes at all the holiday parties coming up and am looking forward to a little pampering!
The one thing I’m going to do for myself this holiday season is I’m going to do all my shopping online, instead of all that driving and running around.
I am going to take some time off and relax. There is nothing better than just laying around and doing nothing. I will be getting my nails and hair done as well
I will be getting my nails and hair done for myself, I will be taking time off to sleep in and do nothing
I take time on the computer at the library to do some free on-line freebies.
This year I am going to go to a spa and treat myself for an hour sessions of relaxation. Boy do I need it. LOL
This year I am treating myself to a very unstressful Christmas. I put up a little 3 foot fiber optic tree for me to enjoy, since my husband is out of town and will not be home til about Christmas Eve, then it will be a nice romantic dinner for 2…catered.
Would love to win this. This is a great giveaway. Please pick me!!!!!!!!!!!
This year my treat to me is having no step children until after Christmas.
This is going to be a non stressful Christmas. I have only put up a 3 foot fiber optic tree that my husband gave me as an early Christmas present. He will be out of town till Christmas eve, then it will be a romantic dinner for 2…catered.
I am treating myself by not stressing this holiday season. I am taking things day by day. What gets done great, what doesn’t, I doubt anyone would notice anyway.
I love Christmas, I hope my son can come home from Kuwait for the holidays. This my first Christmas with out him. I think I will cry now..thanks for listening.
I bought myself a pair of uggs, having total buyers remorse right now. But, these Chicago winters are cold!!!!
I will not be able to treat myself this year. I have a staph infection MRSA and have not been able to work for 3 weeks. My brother went in the hospital on 11/4/08 with the infection – I was helping my mom & dad with him at the hospital. My parents are in bad health and my brother has a brain tumor on his pitutary gland. This give away would be a life saver for me. I have been using tons of paper towels, trying not to spread the infection to anyone else. I would like to get a massage and my hair cut soon as I am better.
Tomorrow I’m having a morning out. I’m going to one of my favorite (locally owned) coffee shops and sip coffee for a ridiculous amount of time then I’m going to the gym to take a Zumba class.
adopting 2 foster children is our Christmas gift
This year i plan to treat myself to a movie by myself. I also have a few days off from work and will create a scrapbook for my son.
One special thing that I will be doing for MYSELF this holiday season is going to a Christmas Ball. I was a brides maid in my brothers wedding and I did’t get to attend due to Hurricane Ike. So I will have a chance to wear my beautiful gown Take pictures and feel like a princess for the evening. I might let my husbad get in picture, don’t know just yet.
Thanks for the opportunity.
I get a small Christmas bonus that I will spend entirely on myself this year.
o, just take a day to relax..no housework, no telephones,,and a long bubble bath.
This year I am buying myself Longaberger baskets and sending myself (minus 3 kids and a husband) to Disney next May!! All year I do and spend lots of money for my 3 teens and this Christmas I’m going to be selfish!!
I am reading about 10 minutes of a Christmas book everyday.
For once in my lifetime I have finished my Christmas Shopping early (except for stocking stuffers) and I am going to allow myself to truly enjoy all of the Christmas festivities and family!
This year I’m going to treat myself to a pedicure and a manicure so I can de-stress before the craziness descends.
Kids are cleaning the house for me(Ages 4,6,9,17)……. No school or work just playing in the snow…. sledding, snowballs,Snow Angels. How can you not relax and enjoy the moment(s)!!
getting my hair cut and colored on new years eve.
I make sure I have had my hair highlighted and my brows waxed. When I feel better about myself, I’m able to enjoy the festivities more!
A free year of paper products would go along way to destress me after Christmas. With 5 boys in the house it seems we never have enough!
For me?
I’m getting my eyebrows done. I’m 30-blah blah blah and I’ve Never had them done. It’s about time for a change.
I am finally going to use the gift certificate that I got for mother’s day for a day at the spa.
This is really hard. I have spent so many years thinking of my kids and now grandkids that I haven’t really thought about me. I get great joy from helping others and giving my time to family and friends that I think that is where I get my joy. Matterial things don’t mean much to me, so spending time with my 6 kids and husband and 4 grandkids is what I really want. I think that having a family picture with everyone is what I will do for my gift to myself this year.
The one thing that I’m going to do for myself is to go have a facial.I’ve never had one done and I think after 43yrs I deserve one.
i’m going to buy myself a nice camera so i can capture all those special moments!
I recieved a gift card for a spa from one of my daycare moms. i have finally made an appointment to use it!!!!
This year,my special something I am doing just for me is to just relax and enjoy my family. The holidays stress me out!!! I am massive O.C.D. and I freak out over messes. So,this year I am just going to sit back and let the house get trashed.(TRY to anyway).I’m going to watch the kids tear into their gifts and not go around them picking up the paper and other junk.
paying a little extra for some gifts so that I can buy them online & not have to fight the crowds.
I plan to take half a day and spend it by myself reading in bed. I can relax without my children (12 & 20) and no mom this or that, just time spent alone to prior to the busy holiday week.
I hope everyone else is able to enjoy their special time doing what works for them too.
Enjoy!
The special thing for me is just to have time with my family. It’s great that there is time off work and school so we can just relax.
I am exercising. I know that sounds funny, but it makes me feel good especially during the Holiday Season when you eat more.
As a treat to myself this year, I finished my Christmas shopping and wrapped and mailed the long distance gifts this week!! I don’t feel any stress about breaking the budget or not being done in time.
This may not sound like I’m doing something for myself, but I definitely feel like it is. To relieve a lot of the stress that comes with holiday shopping, I’m doing 90% of my gift shopping online. I don’t have to deal with the traffic, people, long lines, price comparisons at multiple stores during multiple trips, all with a 2 year old trying to get out of his car seat or stroller. I shop in my pj’s during his bedtime or naps and I don’t waste any gas!
I took a few minutes to search for a holiday top for myself. Its a pretty dark purple color, short puffy sleeves and satin. I can wear it with jeans or black pants. Christmas eve, a party, or church. One new thing is always a pick me up!
This Christmas, my family is making gifts for each other instead of purchasing gifts. This has had an unintended side effect of allowing me to spend fun time with my kids instead of dragging them around the mall. Plus, as a treat to myself, I’ve gotten to buy supplies and spend time without guilt on my favorite hobbies.
As a special gift to myself this year I am going to splurge on that remote car starter that I keep promising myself every year…and just never have done it. We get a lot of snow here in Michigan and having a nice toasty warm car in the early morning will sure beat scraping off the snow from my line of vision.
I am going to “relax” for a change, no work, just spend some time with my grnadbabies, enjoying their youth.
This Christmas I can’t give too much but ya know what it makes life a little easier not to have soo much to do and wrap.
this year i’m going to let myself enjoy the holidays rather than stress myself out. enjoy the shopping rather than make it a chore. simplify life in general by slowing down and remembering that it’s not WHAWT we buy it’s WHY we buy it.
I just became a new mom 4 months ago and I can’t wait to get back into shape. I used to play soccer in high school and loved it so this holiday i joined a women’s league! Feels great to play and it gives me a break from baby for a few hours:0)
well i am going to take some time for a long bubble bath with candles and soft music.then i will pamper myself with some tea and honey.i would love to win thanks for th chance
This year I´m sharing the cooking load with my whole family. Everyone is preparing their speciality and then we will bring it all together on Christmas day, with disposable dishes. That way everyone enjoys and no one (me) gets stuck with the bulk of the cooking or cleaning.
My kids are older this year and there have been a couple of nights when everybody is gone and I am home alone with the lights, the stars and the music…….PEACE. I then enjoy them all the more when they come home!!!!
I am not going to stress out over everything being perfect. I’m just going to enjoy being with my family even if the dishes aren’t washed!
I will be changing my diet to be happier and healthier!!!
I already did something for myself. I splurged & bought myself some new makeup from Elizabeth Arden! The makeup I was using was 5 years old! So, I got some new foundation & concealer …plus…I got 2,000 points from Mypoints to boot! What a deal!!!
When I take that special “Me” time during the holidays, I spend it giving myself a manicure and a pedicure. This makes me feel sooooo wonderful!
Tanya
I will treat myself to some non-Weight Watchers cookiesYUM!
I am going to New York City to see the lights at Rockafeller Center and the Christmas windows all decorated in Time Square. Stay in a ski Lodge for a week in the Poconos and take a train into NYC and a just be a tourist. I can not wait.
This year instead of perfecting my house I am perfecting my time spent with my children by making every moment count. I am baking more imaginary cookies with my 4 yr old daughter. Building a Lego town under the tree (around the train set) with my 9 yr old son. And sitting on the bed with my 13 yr old daughter at least once a day just to find out whats on her mind. Hopefully no one will mind the cluttered house. I sure dont because what I,m doing now instead of cleaning is so much more rewarding at the end of the day. Doing something for myself?? Yes !! I am finally taking time to enjoy what is right in front of me. Merry Christmas to all!
i’m 41, single, and pregnant with my first child. i’ve had 3 miscarriages, the last was 14 years ago. all i’ve ever wanted, from the time i was young, was to be a wife and mother. my life hasn’t turned quite how i’d hoped, but having a baby is my dream come true. i don’t want another thing for christmas, or ever really, but for this july to have a healthy baby. merry christmas to all who read this and take care….
After shopping, wrapping, making out Christmas cards, baking, cooking, decorating, delivering Christmas presents, and going to school functions, I am going to take one whole day and night to do absolutely NOTHING! I’m not even going to get dressed but stay in my robe, laze on the couch next to the fireplace watching my favorite tv programs, read some magazines I haven’t had time for, have my husband fix supper and bring it to me and then I will take a nice leisurely bubble bath with candles lit and listen to my favorite cd!
I try to take a few minutes out of every single day just for me! It makes me a better wife and mommy when I take a few minutes to read, watch ‘mom’ tv, or savor a small bar of chocolate..or preferably to do all of the above in a bubble bath! Of course I also spend several..um..minutes..reading my favorite frugal blogs!
I will be starting a new tradition this year because my grandmother(MIMI) passed away with a heart attack on Aug.31.WE miss her dearly,so our memory of her will be a picture of her under the tree with a poem about Christmas in heaven, and a candle will burn for her. She will always be with us Merry Christmas everyone..
I will be taking my kids to Disneyland this Christmas Holiday:0)
I wish I could say that I’m going to treat myself to something, anything this christmas. But, I can’t think of 1 thing! I am going to try to take some time to myself, if I can do that I will be a happy lady! LOL!
Thanks for the chance to win!
I will be treating myself to some Martha Stewart crafts this holiday season. I could get some good stuff I have always wanted with a $100 visa gift card, wink, wink. Oh! and yes, starbucks!
I am taking advantage of all the freebies im finding here online and using the money i save to buy me something special…thanks for all yall do.
I am taking some “Me” time… pampering myself with a mani and pedi.
I’m taking the day after x-mass off to go shopping for fun!!! not stressful holiday shopping and of course to spend the day with my MOM!!!!
I would relaxin the tub – all by myself!
I’m a first time mom of a 4 month old. He keeps me pretty busy. The one thing he has taught me is to slow down. Not much else matters when he needs something. Coming from a fast paced corporate world, the pace is significantly slower than I had to keep up with. This holiday I plan on curling up on the sofa with some good books and a good glass of red wine. Indulging the mind is my gift to myself.
I’m taking more time to not worry and enjoy the holidays. I have a hair salon appt. planned and a shopping outing by myself to buy some new clothes!
I bought myself a starbucks card, and when out shopping for gifts, I stop and get myself something to enjoy.
i never do anything for myself so this year i bought a new outfit and im thinking about getting my hair cut off.
I like to help with the stress by relaxing in the tub while my husband takes care of my child. I could definately use your giveaway & would very much appreciate it ! Thanks !!!
This week I got a new hairstyle. When my husband saw me, he said, “I like it…Very sexy!” That’s all I needed!!
I am going to watch fun holiday movies like Elf.
I have been using our extra flex spending money to give myself weekly massages. With being a parent with special needs kiddos, I have to take care of myself first to be a more patient parent.
My husband took the kids for this weekend so I can get ready for christmas.
I made reservations for 1 at a very expensive restaurant. Just me, myself and I
This season I’m taking a break from going crazy with the decorating at the house. I’m pregnant and just don’t feel up to it. I put up the tree and decorated around the kitchen table and my 5 year old seems to think that is fabulous enough!
I am cutting back on my freelance work to spend more ‘holiday’ time with my kids. We watch all the holiday specials, read holiday books, make holiday treats and I get to cherish the moments with them. I also treat myself to some girl time having coffee with my girlfriends!
This Christmas I am going to pamper myself by reading a book over the holiday and enjoying the break from the usual hustle and bustle of the season. I hope I win too because it will definitly cut out some of the expense!
After I helped my parents purchase all the gifts we needed to give to our extended family… I treated myself to a huge christmas gift (but I’m sharing with my sister): An Xbox 360. I put in a lot of hours and worked two jobs for a while so I could afford to help out
It would be nice to win this for my mom.
I work at 2 jobs but I decided to take the 22 of Dec off at both jobs.
I am going to sleep in.
Unplug the phone turn off the cell. Then watch a rented movie, sip coffee. Eat lunch a out. Go get my nails done .
Then no plans for the rest of the day! : )
What am I doing for myself this holiday? Well, this. I have been looking for many contest so I can win the best thig for my mother. I know what you are thinkg; “what is ths kid doing on this site, we want to win, not some crazy kid”. It’s just that my mother has worked hard since my mom’s divorce, raising three tough kids, and I want to give the best gift i could possibly give her, because she deserves it. So you ask me what special thing am I doing for my self? Trying to give my mom a gift that she will never forget!
Holy cow! I have not even thought of what I am going to do for myself…that seems like an impossible thought with two young kids and not having extra $…and besides, I think that this time of year, it’s really about what we can do for others…
I’m buying helthy foods and vitimins and health care items to improve my quality od life. But ALWAYS on sale or with a coupon
My funds are short, the Scott’s item’s would really help us out.
I went to a mom’s meeting even though it was pouring out and I was tired because my son is teething. I didn’t get a good night sleep for a few nights and day care kicked him out because he had a feaver. I couldn’t get a doctor’s appointment (just for them to confirm that he was fine) until 2 PM so work was out that day. I reminded myself that I got to spen a day with my son. So what if I have to go in on Sunday now. My husband will get to spend a day with out son also.
Oh, I will definitley be getting a massage for my self once my christmas shopping is done. There so relaxing. Thanks.
I am going to get a much needed manicure!
I am going to give myself the gift of time. I’m actually going to read a book and not feel guilty about it thinking about all the other things I could be doing like organizing my daughter’s closet or doing laundry
I am a new mom, my daughter is going on 3months. I’ve been taking her christmas shopping with me to all the shopping (circus) malls; in about 3 weeks it’s one of my bestfriends b-day and we are going to have a girls day out. Dad is going to have the baby while mom has a nice glass of wine with some juicy gossip….Can’t wait.
With not only the holidays here I get a cherry on top of it with sprinkles, I have to deal finals and 2 toddlers a 2yr and a 8 month baby. My husband and I will be taking a night out for ourselves with some nice dinner and our own stay over at a nice hotel by the beach.
I had a kidney transplant 4 1/2 years ago. Everything has to be kept clean and germ free. I can’t have germ-filled dishrags sitting around. I use the Scott paper towels for all my kitchen and bathroom clean-ups. Counters, stove, table, floor, toilet, etc. Love them1!
Sleeping! I have a 5 mo. old in the house who is still getting up at least 2 times at night. So I have been taking a nap during the kids naptime… and NOT feeling guilty about it!
One special thing that im doing for myself this holiday season is pampering myself by going to out to eat and watch a movie with my girls. Also I’ll be getting my hair cut by my favorite hair stylist.
The one thing I will be doing this year just for me… well being the mom of three teenagers I don’t get a lot of “me” time. I have a certificate for a 1 hour spa treatment. I’ve had it for 8 months so it’s about time I use it. I was going to give it away… but Extreme Makeover: Home Edition just left our tiny town and I volunteered for 11 days straight (Chapman, KS) so I could really use a break! So that what I am doing for me… Of course they will all want dinner when I get home, because it will be back to mom time then, but I love my “job” so I will happily cook dinner for my always hungry family.
To treat myself this year I hired a local cleaning crew to come out right before Christmas and clean the whole house! Not only is this a treat for me not to have to do…but there’s no stress for the big family dinner..no dusty corners to worry about!! This was my Christmas present this year..well to myself.
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!
I will not be stressing out this holiday season, because last year I got sick the day before Christmas Eve and missed out on the holidays with my friends and family. So I am eating extra healthy, drinking lots and lots of water, and excercising as much as I can. I hope everyone has a wonderful, healthy, and blessed holiday season:)
I have a spa gift certificate that I am finally going to use for some much-needed pampering. Hair cut, and can’t decide between a massage, or perhaps a pedi!
I think for myself I am going to make some cookies. And also make a little platter of goodies around the holiday and sit back and watch those old christmas cartoons and relax.
I bought some wonderful new bath goodies and make sure that at least once a week I sneak away and take a relaxing bubble bath! It is a simple thing that really rejuvinates me!
I want to take the time to go through my recipes and make some items I’ve not taken the time to do before.
I will be meeting some girlfriends for lunch!!
Heather
I am finally going to use my gift certificate and get my hair and nails done. I never get my nails done. It isn’t always easy to get out with 3 kids.
This holiday season I am setting a little time aside each week to do something stress free and fun. Sometimes I just grab a cup of coffee with a friend and chat or if I have extra time I will go to lunch or walk around the mall without an agenda.
I got my holiday shopping done early this year all that’s left is the baking so I’m spending time to relax, and today I’m going shopping for me.
I am taking my husband out on a date with NO kids
I will be treating myself by spending quality time with my family. It’s been several years since our oldest daughter (20) has been on a “family vacation” with us, so we are traveling 1100 miles to see my family that she hasn’t seen for awhile. And our 5 year old daughter can’t wait to spend the time with her “sissy”.
This year I am having a cookie party at my house with no husbands or kids. Time with the girls!! Hooray!
Thanks for the offer! I treat myself to a Peppermint Mocha Twist every time I go out Christmas shopping.
So.. I’m buying a new bra to treat myself. Nothing like an “uplifting” gift!
I think what I am going to do for myself this holiday season is learn yoga. I hear it is very relaxing and helps with aches and pains! I am also going to visit the salon for a much needed hair do and pedicure!!
After years of wearing my curly hair in a ponytail, I got it cut and highlighted so I can wear it down. I looks so much better and younger.
I love to read, so I bought myself a new book and am planning to take the saturday after Christmas and lock my self in my room and lay in bed, reading my book in my comfy clothes….I feel so realxed when I am reading and letting my mind go some place else.
*Thanks for the chance to win such a wonderful gift.
Even though my special needs foster and adopted kids dont think giving is better than receiving. I’m hoping that helping out at the local animal shelter this year will open their hearts.
This year I am letting myself sleep in on weekends. Instead of waking up early & planning super-hectic days, I have stopped setting an alarm on Saturdays. Also, I let myself wake up slowly with a cup of coffee. It really has improved my mood so far!
I always get so busy around the holidays, so I always take vacation the week after Christmas. This lets me enjoy the family and friends that I’ve been neglecting since October! You can’t replace time spent with people you love. It is what your memories are made of.
I am taking some time off! I also am making homemade gifts to save on money
Taking time to go to a family play and out to dinner – spending time with family in a fun outing is very relaxing and reminds us how much fun we are!
I treat myself to a bublle bath and FREE things in our community
I’m taking the time to really enjoy the holidays this year instead of rushing through all of it. I’m getting the family together to go on holiday outings and tonight we will be baking cookies.
I treat myself by giving me some quiet time … I arrange it for the kids to be out for an hour and I can read…read books, read blogs…just read.
This holiday season, I am not going crazy buying presents. We don’t have the money and so I decided not to stress out.
I am taking a vaction this year to see my family, it has been so long. It will be nice to have all of us together. Money will be very tight but it will be worth it.
Something i am going to do for myself this year is really to spend time with my Husband, since we never have much time to spend together.we have adopted 4 girl and we have 2 foster girls and one child of our own.
cindy
WHO DOESNT USE TP?? sounds great to me
one thing I do for myself during the season is relaxe. I do all my shopping after christmas the previous year. That I dont have to worry or get all stressed out like I use to. I have more time with my kids to decorate the house, tree and bake cookies. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that your christmas shopping is done. That’s how I take care of myself during this hectic time of the year.
What am I doing for myself you ask. Well I have been blessed this year and have paid it forward. I randomly gave a stranger a crispy $100 bill. This made me feel awesome, so I gave myself peace of mind that I was able to bring a smile to someones face this holiday season.
I am going to take a night off and go hear Handel’s Messiah! If that doesn’t get you ready to celebrate Christmas nothing will!
Amy – It was fun to see your picture on the Scott website. My favorite tips were the ones with Windex (reminds me of the movie “My Big Fat Greek Weddins”) but I liked the one about using Windex to help get a ring off your finger.
I am going to pamper myself by getting my hair cut and hilighted on Dec. 22, just in time for all our family parties.
Simply taking things day by day and sitting in front of our decorated tree with a good book every once in a while.
Who couldnt use scotts and more. Great giveaway. am a subscriber too.
I am actually going to do 2 things, I am getting a total new hairstyle, and I LOVE to shop, so I am taking a day off work and going to the mall by myself and see what kind of deals I can get from my love ones!!
This would be a great item to win! I use a lot of paper towels with a 2 year old in the house!
When my daughter and her family come to visit during the holidays I am going to TRY to stress less bout the house, meals, etc. and just try to enjoy the antics of my five, yes five, grandchildren!!!
I love these contests! Thanks for offering it.
I will be buying some books that I have been wanting to read.
This season I am giving myself permission to not over spend. So we are having a debt free giving Christmas which gives me peace of mind.
I will enjoyed the company of family members that I see once a year they are spending the Christmas in the States.
I’m taking a weeks vacation and spending time with my family. This is exactly what I think of when I think of doing something for myself. My family is everything to me. I can’t wait.
I will be having a different holiday treat every night for the twelve days of Christmas after my son has gone to bed! Whether it be hot chocolate or a chick flick, I get to do what I want to do after 7 pm instead of running around trying to pick up or get stuff done.
i plan on pampering my self by exercising and helping my parents out like i normaly do i love helping my parents since they cant do much. it my way of giving back since they helped me when i was young.
I plan on taking a long bath without interruptions from the kiddos:)
Taking a few hours a week to take care of me – I joined a local exercise club to meet with a personal trainer and exercise! I feel great!
i am going to get myself a massage! i have 2 young toddlers and i need it!!
I am a mother to three lovely children, and a wife to a strong, hard working, handsome man. I plan to relax (on the sofa with my feet propped up), while mi hubby & babies bake cookies for me to taste.
I have treated myself to taking the month of December off of work to spend with my little girl for her first Christmas. Makes money tight, but so so worth it.
I am taking time to just take a break with a good book and a cup of hot cococa
Oh my Goodness. How I would love to win the year supply. With a family of 5 it gets costly! Jayson, McKenzie, Henson, Madelyn and Myself want to say THANKS for helping our family find our way to great savings and great products! Happy Holidays- heather g
almost forgot I will treat myself to a day of RELAXING by the fire place while my husband takes the kids out to finish up last minute gifts for each other:)
I recently purchased a few books I’ve been wanting and every night I make sure that I take at least half an hour to read after my daughter goes to bed. I love having this time to decompress. It gives me something to look forward to all day too.
Im gonna treat myself to a hot bath, candles, and music.
I am so excited to start couponing and saving money. I am a teacher for an inner city school, and I just found out that the district is cutting 400 jobs and that I will be getting a pink slip, since I have not been there more than three years! So with that said, I would love to have the TP (great with our septic system) My gift to myself this Holiday is to get a coupon binder and start getting organized!!
Best of luck to everyone!!
stephanie
This week I get to take a bubble bath, paint my toenails, and get my hair styled.Lovely!
I did all my shopping via internet at a leisurely pace rather than face the crowds shopping at the mall.
One thing I am doing for myself is going to a mommy night out cookie exchange with some friends. Also not stressing about housecleaning. As I type, the dishes are waiting in the sink and that is ok!
Play on my new game system and try to get my wife to play too!
I would like to spend a good time with my family. Go to a movie, a nice dinner and special treat for me, a spa!
use the force Luke
The best tip on scottcommonsense to me is to set a budget and stick to it. It’s no fun to give lavish Christmas gifts if it ruins your budget for the rest of the year and causes undue stress. Better to find good deals and be creative and stick to your budget.
I treated myself to Bath & Body Works stress-relief aromatherapy and I have enjoyed a couple of lovely baths.
I will be treating myself to a one hour massage 3 days before Christmas!!
I am going to surprise my mom this Christmas, I have not seen her since last Christmas. We talk every day and what a wonderful surprise it will be to see her again!! Wish me luck!!!
As weird as it sounds, one thing I am going to do for myself is clean and organize the house. With school, work, my son and my husband I have not been able to keep up my house like I want and like my mama taught me to. I want to put my hair in a bun and start scrubbings some floors this holiday season. It will make me feel soooooooo goood this Christmas to wake up to a spic-n-span house.
I have kinda given up eating chocolate, but I bought a big bag at costco the other day, and it is soooo good!
My husband is in grad school so when the semester is over, during his month long break, I will be allowing myself an hour each morning to go work out while he stays with the kids. I am hoping to build the habit during this month so that I will be able to continue it when school resumes in January.
To treat myself during the holidays, I always take advantage of the sales and my ME a little something. I’m a stay at home mom, so I never go shopping for myself.
This year I am letting myself not worry about getting everything “perfect” for Christmas! I’m letting my son help more with decorating (which he loves to help with) and he’s going to help me make treats to give to friends and neighbors. I’m not skipping my “me” time away from my family (one night out to play Bunco with the girls!). I always come home feeling refreshed and charged up!
I’m going to treat myself by still watching what I eat but if I want something I usually don’t eat, I’m going to treat myself to it and not talk myself out of it because I deserve to treat myself.
on the 24th am i am going for a manicure get my nails done a hair cut and style simple but only i will enjoy the time i am away lol
merry christmas and happy holidays
I plan to buy a fabulous new watch, so everytime I look at my wrist, I will smile.
I am not worrying about what I stick in my mouth. I’m not going crazy, but it’s nice not to have to limit myself like I normally do
Only one thing I want to do this year is,
spoil my first grandaughter! Such fun for me.
My Christmas gift to myself is: mani-pedi, hair cut and color, and a massage to top it off. Oh and I’m not doing the dishes after chrismas dinner.
)
I liked the Scott web site and the ideas (also yours, Amy)and I hope I win! My husband says I use enough toilet paper for five people. LOL
We plan to take our motor home to Gatlinburg after the holidays, kick back, and enjoy ourselves. It should be fun.
The Scott web site had some good tips. We do most of our shopping before Thanksgiving and we don’t have to deal with the crowds. This year, I have been helping a friend rehab her parents’ home. I have also built a toy box and bookcase (by hand, from scratch) for my grandchildren. It’s been quite tough to do it all. Seems like I never have a minute to just rest. I plan to take my wife on a trip so we can both de-stress. Happy Holidays to all!
I liked the Scott tips about getting things done early (and your tips too, Amy). I always have my shopping done by October or November of each year. It gives me more time to spend with family and friends, I don’t have to fight the crowds and just makes me happy to get it done! Then I can start my baking projects. After spending time with the family, I plan to take a trip to unwind!
I love to relax by crocheting, so this year instead of crocheting Christmas presents for other people, I’ve decided to make myself a new sweater. So I’m actually doing 2 things, making myself a new sweater and getting extra relax time!
This holiday season I am spoiling myself by going to see the Rockettes live! The tickets costs more than I would normally pay, but my Mom, Sister, Daughter and I are so excited about seeing this national treasure! It’s this Thursday.
Well the special thing I’m doing for myself is getting my hair done… I was out of work for a few months due to an injury (I’m a paramedic) and I haven’t had the money to get my hair done but my dad gave me $$ for Christmas and gave it to me early so I’m treating myself!
For myself? I am giving myself time each day to read some of my favorite magazines. It’s refreshing and gives me a chance to relax!
I’m just taking the time to slow down…making sure I have my camera so I can catch all of the awesome memories!
I am always on my feet. I make sure that I get at least a pedicure and maybe a massage. It really can make the difference and it is nice to be pampered.
I’m staying calm with breathing exercises & meditation, and God. I’m determined to not turn into a big ball of stress by the end of the year. And it’s working. I’m just letting go of control (of things I cannot change, like other’s behavior & judgement). I’m focusing on the joy and excitement in my kids eyes. This is the best Christmas season I’ve had in awhile
Great website. I am always looking for ways to save on a tight budget. Thanks for all of your ideas.
This holiday season, I am treating myself to some much needed relaxation. I have a newborn daughter at home and am going to enjoy her first Christmas with her.
I have 6 kids…..2 just potty trained….the ton of tissue would be awesome! lol
I love your website. With a tight budget to work with, we are always looking for ways to save money. I have even passed this on to my daughter, a new mom, to help them out.
annual pedicure!
I am going to let my hubby watch the kids while I take a long bubble bath and drink Stephens hot coco! Raspberry is my favorite!
I plan to spend time with my son baking cookies and like most have already said, just really ENJOYING the little things!!! Praise the Lord and God Bless You all.
I know that this might sound like work to some but I am looking forward to organizing my photos into albums that I can quietly sit, relax, and enjoy by myself or share with family and friends.
What a great Giveaway! Two Essentials plus an opportinity to splurge!
I like the tip on drying your hair. It recommends using a Scott paper towel to dab your hair dry to cut your drying time in half! I could totally use that extra time, since it takes a little longer than 30mins. to dry my really long hair! Thanks for the chance to win an awesome prize!
I have just had my second child, after 13 years, on Nov. 20, so to pamper myself I am learning how to let other people take care of me for a change. I am spending most days resting and bonding with my little one, so my other half will have a few days of rubbing my feet, and back, and I will finally get to taste a meal that he will prepare for me!
