I don’t like big bulky jackets, but since living in Indiana, I have had a lifetime of them to keep me warm. That is why I was so excited to receive the Lands’ End Windfall jacket this year to review. This jacket is so incredibly thin that you would think it was just a windbreaker, but the company boasts that it will keep you nice and toasty even in the coldest weather. I am sure that Indiana is not the coldest weather, but I digress!
I decided to put it to the test last night and mowed the lawn in the freezing cold to mulch up the numerous leaves that have landed on our lawn. Bundled in only this jacket and my outdoor boots, I was completely toasty warm within this jacket while the rest of my body was freezing cold.
It has some nice features where you can pull the sides in to lock in your warmth as well as adjust the arms to tighten and keep the warmth in. The pockets are generous and I love my favorite color choice…the basic black jacket. I mean, what other color is there?
Here are some other great & notable features about the jacket:
- PolarthinTM insulation in jacket for warmest protection without bulk
- Fleece-lined, zippered outer pockets
- Multiple inner pockets for MP3 player, cellphone
- Exterior ski-pass attachment
- TEMPERATURE RATING: -5°/5° Fahrenheit. Over layering pieces, this Windfall Snow Sport Jacket will keep you warm in -5° weather; over a light layer, in 5° weather.
I have found with this brand that the sizing runs a little big. I did not realize though that they had a Petite version of the same jacket so if you are a smaller gal, go for the petite size and pick one size smaller than your normal sizing to get a good fit.
