The Motherloot Blog: Product Reviews

timberland pro renovaThis week I received a pair of Timberland PRO Renova Series shoes to review from the Timberland company. The best part though is that we will be giving away a pair of these shoes next week to one lucky winner! After all, it is not half as fun to talk about a product as it is to give it to you so be sure to watch for this giveaway coming soon!

I was not familiar with the Timberland brand and had no experience with their shoes before, but many people swear by the quality and endurance of their products. The PRO Renova series is intended for people that are on their feet all day and help to reduce foot fatigue.

There are many occupations that this PRO Renova series would work for including nurses and doctors. I can think of one underappreciated and misunderstood profession though that could benefit from some anti-fatigue and that is definitely my friends in the mom community. We are often on our feet running errands, driving the carpool, and running the laundry up and down the stairs. Shouldn’t there be a product especially designed for us?

Admittedly, ever since learning about FlyLady, I have made it a point to get dressed and throw on some shoes in the morning. The simple act of putting on a pair of shoes makes tasks that I didn’t feel like doing (running out the recyclables, laundry, the annoying cleaning routine) just seem more doable. Unfortunately, I have been doing all of these activities in a poor pair of shoes that I found at Goodwill that didn’t offer the support that I needed. And yes, I am that cheap thankyouverymuch!

These PRO Renova shoes have become my new shoes for accomplishing all of life’s little tasks. The shoes offer ample support, particularly in the heel region, and offer that cushioning that prevents pain in my back from being on my feet all day. Women that are standing on tile or hardwood all day could really benefit from a pair of shoes like these as they add that bounce and cushioning you need to throw a baby on your hip while you stick the dishes in the dishwasher. Hey, I never said we lead the most glamorous life, but our shoes can at least be functional for accomplishing the tasks at hand.

I worried that the shoes would look too much like nurse shoes, but with two women in my family in the medical field, I knew I could pass these on. The sneaker-style shoes look more like a walking shoe and are a great basic tennis shoe that won’t clash with your wardrobe.

For the technical specifics, the Renova series shoes are slip-resistant, easily washable and feature Timberland PRO’s exclusive Anti-Fatigue Technology, which provides superior shock absorption and exceptional leg and back support. Through long days at work or running around town, these shoes offer all day comfort, all day long. While comfort may be the priority for the daily grind, women also -choose footwear based on their individual style preferences. The Renova series offers three silhouettes, ranging from clogs to athletic styling in its three distinct lines — the Caregiver, Provider and Professional.

Of course, all of those fantastic features do come at a price, but the shoes are comparable to most well-made shoes and sneakers as there is much technology that must be paid for. Thus, why I continue to wear those tired Goodwill shoes.

These shoes now sit at the foot of my bed and are slipped on in the morning and stay on my feet until I kick them off at night to cozy up with my hubby. They are my new go-to shoes as a busy mom and I would highly recommend these to any person that has to be on their feet all day.

OOOO. I love Timberland. Before kids I was able to justify buying them and hopefully will again. I have always thought of them as more rock climbing, outdoor type shoes so it’s nice to see something that looks more like a tennis shoe which is all I pretty much wear. I would love to try these out!

I was not aware that Timberland made this type of footwear. One of my favorite things in the world is getting a new pair of tennis shoe. Unfortunately that doesn’t have enough. Your review is impressive and I certainly would gain benefit from these shoes. So yes, I’m crossing my fingers for these!
    Good luck to all.

Oh, this is a product that hits me where it hurts. I really mean it! I am a mom if 4, that should read, never sits unless in car. I am also a pharmacist that works 14 hour shifts so that I can cram hrs in sonthat I can be at home most of the time doing the mom thing. This Friday at work, my only chance to sit was when I went to the bathroom. I take footwear seriously and I am willing to invest a little because you get slow and very grouchy when your feet hurt. These shoes are in a good price range, but they still look pretty clunky and
not very fashionable. Comfort is king, but fashion must be the queen and she can’t be ignored! Are they nicer looking in person? Not so old or clinical? Thanks for the review. It is great!

Jessica- Of all of the styles, this style appealed to me the most because I thought it was the most stylish of the shoes. It looks like a walking shoe, but does not look like a clinical shoe. If I was in the market for a walking shoe, I would not be able to tell the difference between this and a Nike/Reebok other than the label on the shoe. The shoe is also offered in different striping on the side- I think just plain silver and a blue.

They are definitely not clunky, I can honestly tell you that, they are just an average sized tennis shoe.

Let me know if you have any questions and our giveaway is going live on Tuesday. Maybe you can win them and judge for yourself with a free pair!!! Good luck!

While I’m ‘just’ a SAHM, I must wear shoes or my legs hurt so bad when I go to bed I cannot sleep. Because our finances have been so tight in past few years, I wear my shoes until they crack and leak. When GOOP no longer holds them, I buy shoes. These sound heavenly with their support and breathability! I have some sort of nerve issue under my toes on one foot and cannot stand not having good support in my shoes for any length of time. I’m glad to be in on this drawing! Thanks to Timberland for even making it possible!!!

I am on my feet at the hospital doing ultrasound for up to 12 hours a day and boy do my feet ache. I guess I dont have the right shoes one. I also think its quite amazing that new objects can be recycled using old plastic. That is just so ummmph! Love it. So with that being said, I browsed the site and think the Women’s Renova Professional Series Slip On in white would be perfect for me.
