The Motherloot Blog: Product Reviews

Thank you to all who entered our giveaway! We are happy to announce that commenter #41, r. robinson, was the winner! Congratulations to their family!

“My daughter is a straight A student who greatly desires a Build a Bear. I have been unable to purchase this item for her. This game will be a great treat for her. Her grandparents are planning to buy her a Wii for Christmas and this game would be an awesome gift to find under the Christmas tree.”

Now that I am back from my vacation, I am so excited to start our weekly giveaways back up! Today we will be offering two luck winners a new family game for your Nintendo Wii.

The game is called Build-A-Bear Workshop for the Nintendo Wii, and it is a family-friendly game perfect for young children. The game is for children three and older, and will be released very soon!  It encourages multiple players, making it ideal for a birthday party or family game night. In the game, players create a stuffed friend, and then guide him through a series of fun and challenging games and obstacles. Build-A-Bear Workshop was released on the Nintendo DS in 2007 and received rave reviews, and the Wii version promises to be even better!

To enter, please leave a comment and share your favorite Nintendo Wii game that you play with your family. If you don’t have any games yet, please share why this one would make a good start to your collection. Please leave your comment here by 10/28 at 8PM EST to be included. One entry per person and US residents only. Thanks & good luck!!

Our collection isn’t very big yet either, but I would say we have 3 favorites Mario Cart, on Wii Sports-Baseball and Wii Play-the Cow racing only b/c it cracks our 1 year old up to the point we are all laugh on the floor! But we have young children and I think with game would be a great addition.

The only WII game I have played was Guitar Hero!!! My girlfriend and I had more laughs. Some good 80′s music that brought back hilarious memories.

  13. 113

My husband received the Sports Wii for Father’s Day. It has been fun for the whole family. It’s fun to see what activities women do better in that men and vis versa. Love the bowling!

  14. 114

I have a 6yo daughter and she has got my husband and I hooked on Wii. Our favorite game right now is Wii Sport Bowling. Everyone in our cul-de-sac now owns a Wii and we all get together as often as possible to play against each other. The Build-A-Bear game would be a perfect game for my 6yo, she just recently got her first actual Build-A-Bear. Thank you for this chance to win!

My parents have a few games that the adults play every Sunday. I have a 7 year old niece that gets left out a lot. There are 3 boys under the age of 2 that everyone seems to pay attention to more. So if I got this game it would be something I would play with my niece every Sunday. She recently went with my parents to a Build-A-Bear workshop and loved it. I think she would love this game!

Our 6 year old loves the Wii. She and her daddy have such a great time bonding while playing tennis together. Plus it gets them both off the couch :)

  19. 119

We are getting a Wii soon, but have played it at others, our favorite is Wii fit Hula Hoop game! This would be a great game to have since we have a 4 year old, 2 year old, and 10 month old!

  20. 120

Well i do not have a wii system yet! But my son could really use this for moving around, he really needs to have games that are for moving your body rather than sitting and playing playstation2 for hours to get fit! Thank you!

  21. 121

We’re getting a Wii for Christmas, so this game sounds like a wonderful 1st addition to our collection! What a fun, creative idea! I hope I win!

  22. 122

My kids love to play the soccer game on Wii Fit – they think it’s hilarious to see their mom & dad get hit in the head with a bank or a shoe when we miss!!

  23. 123

Oh, this game would be solely for my daughter! She is skilled in using the Wii, but my husband dominates it! This would give my 6 year old an interest in using technology, teaching her eye-hand coordination and organization on that game! Besides all of the learning experiences, she would certainly have a lot of fun!!!

  24. 124

We are getting a WII for Christmas! What a wonderful way to start out our collection. I am going to keep my fingers crossed!!

  25. 125

We can’t afford anything like this but I have heard great things about it. My son loves video games so I’m sure he would also love it. Thanks for giving hope during this hard time of economics. I love homeschooling. I encourage all who are doing this journey. May God bless you all!.

  26. 126

We have 5 1/2 year old and 3 1/2 year old boys. And also a 1 1/2 year old daughter. Our older son loves to play Wii Play with us. He always kicks my tail in fishing and target practice. He’s also an expert bowler on Wii Sports! Our younger son doesn’t quite get how to work the controller, but still likes to pretend. It really is great to be able to play this together as a family. Way more fun that playing Chutes and Ladders or Candyland! We’d love to try out the Build-A-Bear game! All 3 of our kids have a Build-A-Bear animal that my husband and I made for each of them while they were in my tummy. In each one, we put a recording of their own heartbeat.

  27. 127

My kids love to play the Lego games for Wii. Like Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones etc. I love them because if you “kill” someone, they just break into a bunch of legos. Same things happen if you “run out of lives”. My daughter also likes My Sims ( the kid version) and loves to bowl and play tennis. We love our Wii!

  28. 128

We love to bowl as a family. Even my 3 year old, 28lb daughter is a bowling whiz!! She loves to bowl. Hubby is a guitar hero freak and we all have to be his groupies! My 7 yr old love all the LEGO StarWars games and also enjoys just creating or changing his Mii!!
We totally are into BuildaBear…even the 7 yr old boy, although he would not admit it so we would Loooooooooove to win!!

  29. 129

We just bought a WII so we only have a few games, but our favorite is definetly Mario Kart! My 1 1/2 year old loves to hold the wheel and pretend he is playing.

  30. 130

We are planning to purchase a Wii for Christmas this year. We visited a friends house and ended up playing the wii fit and some sort of sports game with them and the whole family loved it. I am normally so against video games, but I think this would be great for family time. We have a a 4 year old that would love the teddy game. thank you for the consideration!

  31. 131

We can’t wait to add a game like this to our collection! We just got our Wii….and we’re loving Wii Sports. Our 4 and 2 year old sons like to bowl…but we don’t have any games specifically for their age group. This Buil-A-Bear game would be perfectt! *fingers crossed!*

  32. 132

We just got the Wii as a gift and we really like the bowling game. I think it came with the system, but it’s a blast for my kids and Mom and Dad like it too. We’re looking forward to trying other games soon… maybe the build-a-bear game, which my daughter would absolutely LOVE!!

  33. 133

We just bought one used off of ebay for the kids this Christmas. I think this game would be a nice addition to the used ones we bought with the Wii since we have 4 children. Ages 17 years all the way down to 4 years old. That way our youngest can get in on the action too.

  35. 135

Would love to win one. We purchased a Wii for our family this upcoming Christmas. We have a 4 year old that would love this game I’m sure!

  36. 136

We are relatively new Wii family and we only have Wii Sports/Play and Chicken Shoot…but our faves include bowling and tennis…this would be a wonderful addition!

  37. 137

For everyone, our kids dig on Wii Fit — nothing like a game where we can get the whole body involved for some instant feedback. For the older kids and me, it’s probably Super Mario Galaxy — all of us love the visuals, and the gameplay is easy to pick up on while concealing a lot of depth.

  38. 138

I love Wii Sports, I used the bowling game to help move my labor along with our newest baby (and I have funny pictures to prove it!) :) I think our five year old daughter would LOVE this bear game. Thanks!

We only have a few Wii games and none of them are easy enough for my almost 4 DS. My two tween daughters LOVE Petz Horsez2. Thanks for having this giveaway!

We are purchasing a Wii for Christmas and nothing else except stocking stuffers due to the lack of extra funds these days. We would LOVE to have an age appropriate game for our smaller children. I worry about the anticipation of the gift only to discover how frustrated they will become trying to play the other games included.

I have no wii but my Sister’s children do…there are 4 children and they range in age from 15-7 years old. I think this game would be an awesome way for them to play together and maybe even include mom, dad, and “Aunt Shell”. (that’s me!)

I’m so excited. There aren’t that many games that my 5 year old can work really well on the wii. I was hoping they’d start to make some younger ones. My favorite is the Wii Fit, but my daughter’s fave is a horribly boring game called PuppyLuv.
