The Motherloot Blog: Product Reviews

Kaboost is a smart and innovative company set on helping big kids feel like big kids at the dinner table. This company has come up with a great product that is both stylish and functional for boosting your kids up during mealtime.

The booster seat is not like any other that I have ever seen. The booster actually boosts from the base of a standard kitchen chair. It is made from a heavy-duty plastic and uses a spring system that can snap on and adjust to your chair size within minutes. The booster can be used on either side and each side creates a different level of dimension, equivalent to the sizes offered in standard booster seats.

There were several things I truly loved about this product. First, I loved that it helped boost the child up to the table without compromising the fact that they are big kids. The booster is designed for a child from 20 months to six years old. As the mother of a five year-old, I understand how important it is for him to feel big and this seat really helped him feel like the big boy he is. Second, I really loved how compact this was and the ease with which it could be added to our dining table and taken away. This is great when your dining table has limited space and you don’t want a booster seat taking up valuable seating. Finally, I loved the fact that I don’t have to wash down a separate seat at our table. My daughter’s booster seat can harbor loads of yuck under it and it is one of the things I dread most about cleaning up after her. Since this boosts from the bottom, there are no messes hidden underneath and it makes clean-up for me a little easier.

On the downside, the two dimensions did not seem to work with our kitchen table. We have an issue with all booster seats in our house because of the lip on the edge of our table. Since the seat was a tad too high, my son can’t slide his legs under the table so I wish this was a bit more adjustable for our weird table size. The other down side to this is that there is no strap for the child since it boosts from the bottom. This is designed for an older child, but my daughter is almost two and still far too squirmy to be trusted in a seat like this yet. This is definitely designed with an older child in mind, but I appreciate the fresh approach that the company took towards making a design to boost an older child.

    This looks awesome!

We have a game table that is a little taller than our kitchen table, and it is frustrating to pull up a chair to it and be slightly too short. I bet this would work great! And I totally hear you about the grossness lurking in a booster seat. Ours comes apart and can go in the dishwasher – and it’s still nasty after just one meal.

My idea for an article would be: How to stop fighting between toddler siblings. I battle this everyday with my 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 yr old boys!

That is really neat! I have never seen anything like it! I have a son who is 3 and twin girls that are 1. This would definitely make my son feel a little more special of being a “big boy”.

Any article about twins or just raising siblings would be great!!!

My idea for an article is a set of frugal 30 minute meal ideas. I love Rachel Ray. She has hit on a gold mine with the quick meal plans, but a lot of the things she uses are expensive convenience foods. I wish she used more things from the pantry and showed me how to put them together fast. I’m a busy homeschooling-cubscouting-church-volunteering-toting-kids-around-town-kinda mom, doncha know? Help me put something QUICK, HEALTHY, and FRUGAL on the table, Amy!

I would love to learn more about ADHD and how to help children be successful with this disorder. Also, sibling rivalry…when will it stop?!? I love all that you do with your website and appreciate all of your hard work. Have a blessed christmas with your family.
    Take care.

I love momadvice! It is the first website that I go to whenever I turn my computer on! I especially love the freebie fridays!! I get so many things in the mail my friends are impressed!!:)
I have a 3 year old son, and twins on the way! I would love to see more freebie stuff or articles on twins. For any other twin moms out there, I just bought some things at babies r us and the cashier asked me if I was having twins because I was buying double of everything. He told me babies r us offers parents of multiples a 10%discount on all double purchases, they just have to have the same skew number. Its an unadvertised offer so just ask next time you shop!!
