Great Tips from Real Simple Magazine....
Always wash colored tees inside out. This will slow fading.
Don't try to spot-clean a jean jacket; you'll only create a faded area. Instead, wash the whole garment.
When ironing a number of items, press those that require the lowest temperature first; work your way up to the clothes requiring higher temperatures. You won't have to wait for the iron to cool off between garments.
Don't bother with special detergents designed for bright and dark shades, such as Woolite Dark Laundry. Real Simple's testing showed that regular detergents, like Tide and Wisk, kept clothes from fading as well as — if not better than — the specialty products.
Before using new towels, soak or wash them in cold water without detergent to increase softness and absorbency.
