Caramel Apple Cider

Last week, while my husband and I were out enjoying the day for our 20th. Anniversary, we stopped for a drink at Starbucks. I had their Caramel Apple Cider, it was great, so I knew I had to re-create it for lots less.
Here is what I came up with...
1 1/2 c. Apple Cider
2 T. Caramel (I used Smucker's Sundae Syrup, in the squeezable bottle)
Whisked and heated in the microwave
Then add whipped topping from a can and a drizzle of caramel.
It's yummmmy! Cheesy

Here's another idea. If you have an old perculator coffee pot (the kind with a basket).......fill the basket with redhots (the candy) and then fill the pot with apple cider to about 1/2 inch below the pot......let it perk.......it smells wonderful and tastes great! I use an old 20 cup pot for large get togethers and people line up for refills.......God bless, Pam

What a great idea for a reasonably price drink that will smell and taste great for a fall shower that I'm hosting.

I have had to kick my Starbucks habit as part of my cost cutting campaign, but I've added this to my list of things I want to do, buy or try out when the budget will allow. Who knows, I may like the do it yourself version better anyway! Wink
