I have been looking for a storage ottoman to keep games and books in our living area, but they seem to be on the expensive side.  Any ideas of where to look or about restoring one?

My friend just got a great storage ottoman from Value City Furniture...I am planning to go out and get one myself.  She and I both have little ones just learning to walk, and this ottoman is well padded and attractive.  My friend uses hers as a substitute for her coffee table, so it might be a bit larger than you were looking for, however they may have a smaller option available.  I have also seen these in the past at Bed Bath & Beyond, they may not be too expensive if you have one of the coupons they frequently put in the Sunday paper.

I have also seen crafting ideas for creating your own ottoman if you are crafty, you might try searching the internet for something like that (if I remember right the one I saw in a magazine used a milk crate) Good luck!!   Smiley

They have some on amazon that are around 39.00 and at KMart for about 29.00. You can make one out of a rubbermaid tote( the plastic boxes for storage with lids on them) by using foam or batting and gluing it on to the plastic and then covering it with fabric. This works very well and you can pick the size of tote you want. I have done this and used them for my kids to store games in. They are attractive and easy to make. Just pick a strong and durable fabric and you're set. You can also make one from wood if you are ambitious enough to head to Home Depot.  Smiley

Thanks guys!  Those are some really great suggestions!  I checked out Bed, Bath, and Beyond's website and they have a faux leather one for only $19.99!  I didn't even think of looking there!  Making one sounds fun too, but I'm not sure if I have the time for that.  Thanks again!

I know you found one but thought I'd put this out there for others just in case.

We have been happy with ours...
