I posted on Marva's recipe question, but just in case you didn't read it.
Do you use Angel Food Ministry?  Do you like it?  Do you pay up front or when you pick up?  What are some of the bad things or down falls about it?Thanks for your help! Wink

Yes, we have been using it for over a year.  We love it.  No pitfalls found.  Every place is different with payment.  You can pay at time of pick-up for the next month's or they have a cut-off date about 2 weeks before the shipment for payment.  At least where we go.

We love it, the service is grest and so are the people.  The grade of the food is consistemt with what you would purchase at the grocery store.  Hope this helps.

Smiley I've been using it for over a year, too. In fact last year we had the most fabulous ribs and chicken strips for our Super Bowl party from angel food. you do have to pay when you place your order and I highly recommend ordering 1 or 2 of the extras. they are packed with different goodies, like  a steak and beef pack might have ribs and sausage, the chicken pack is always full of the best ever chicken like popcorn, boneless breasts, tenders, chicken fried steaks etc, and the meals in pouches are great, complete meals with the veggies and all. They even have had gourmet coffee extras. Remember to take a large box when you pick up your food. I always take a rubbermaid toe for mine. You'll love it, and I agree with Marva  Cheesy -the food is top quality!

I have not used it, Liz, but I have only heard excellent things about the program. Let us know if you decide to use it and what your experience is!

They got back to me today.  They have an extra box for pick up on Feb. 16th.  I told them to save it for me.  I'll let you all know how it is.  The food sounds really good.  It has steaks, chicken, etc. I don't even remember the last time I bought steaks.

I've used it off and on for over a year now.  Overall, I've been pleased with it.  Great deal!  One time I got pork ribs that were fatty and just gross, but other than that, no real complaints.  I always check the menu over closely to be sure it's items that we'll use.  It's so nice to have it available, though!

I think it's really great and especially since it's available to anyone, rich or poor. The menu this month is pretty good, I'm looking forward to my 10 lb. chicken box!

I was looking at that chicken box, seems like another good deal.  My family eats a lot of chicken, not sure if it's habit b/c of the price of meat or b/c we like it.  I pick up my box next Sat. the 16th. I'm looking forward to it. Wink

I picked up the food yesterday, it all looks pretty good.  Some of it we may not eat, but still a good deal.
I'll let you know how it tastes after cooking.

Some items like ground beef- that we won't eat- I give away to whoever wants it when I pick up my order.

We have eaten some of the food, the potatoes and onions seemed to be really old, some of the potatoes were spoiled.  I made Chicken Noodle Soup last night with the chicken and added some of the frozen carrots.  They were good.  I don't think I will get it every month, as we don't really eat all of the food they have, and what is there, is not quite enough of one thing for 5 of us.  I still think it's a great deal though.

Hi Liz!The basic box is not enough for a family. Usually I order 2 of the basic if it's things we enjoy. I order the extras, like 2 of the chicken, 2 of the bbq, etc. I've never had fresh produce in any orders. Maybe because by the time it gets to California from Georgia, it's not fresh. We always get frozen or canned and it's been great. Potatoes would be in a box, like Hungry Jack.
