I stuff newspapers in unused hats, purses, ect. while not in iuse, this helps the items keep their shape.

I also clean mirrors and windows with newspapers.

I use it as packing material when shipping packages too!

I use the colored Comic section is Sunday's paper as wrapping paper for kid's birthday gifts.

I also use them for art projects to keep glue, paint, ect. off of my other objects.

We have also used them in compost piles and to train puppies on.

What do you use your papers for?

I've used them to cover and  protect outdoor plants from a freeze.
I've also used them in the garden to keep weeds from returning. I lay a thick layer of newspaper on, and cover with mulch. It works really well.
My kids use them for paper mache' projects.
My kids also make balls out of them to play "indoor basketball".
They make great fly swatters when rolled up!
When I shuck corn cobs, or work on peas or beans, peel carrots or potatoes, etc, I do it over newspaper. Then just fold up and the mess goes into the trash.

Those are great tips girls! I've just started cilpping coupons out of the Sunday paper, and I really didn't know what to do with the papers.

A really long time ago, we used shredded newspaper to line litterboxes after we had to get our indoor cats declawed. It worked out well, but you have to change the litterbox often,it gets stinky quickly.

We use them for all the things you mentioned too, Marva. The only one I hadn't thought of was to stuff my purses. I just spent a Saturday morning cleaning all of my purses & diaper bags out. Turns out I have quite the collection of lipsticks, pens, and mirrors. After cleaning them out, we counted that I had over seven dollars in loose change in the bottom (that equals a couple of Starbucks coffees- whoohoo!) I will have to stuff them with the newspaper too. Great idea!

I always keep them in my caddy of cleaning supplies- it is so nice to use those for cleaning mirrors and windows to prevent getting that dusty film on them.

Great tips!

I have another tip. Use several sheets of newspaper and make a long roll out of it. Then cut into 6" strips all the way across. Roll up each strip, fold one end shut with tape or glue and add some soil, and plant your seeds. Now when they sprout, you can just plant the seedling right in the newspaper pot and it is biodegradable, plus your seedlings won't be damaged. You can do the same thing with toilet paper rolls, too. This is also earth friendly and economical.
