I use my laundry basket for all types of things.

Clean clothes
Dirty Clothes
Take meals to gatherings
Picking up the house

I also keep one in the back of my Tahoe to put groceries and things in to keep them from coming out of the bags and to keep things from rolling around..

What are some things you use yours for?

I love to use these to tote meals in and also when I am cleaning the house. I take one of these with me and just put anything that is in the wrong place in it. Then as I clean from room to room, I pull the items out of the basket and put them in the right place. I have a tri-level home and it can get tiresome running up and down the steps. This saves me from doing this multiple times.

I also use the really nice baskets to keep the kid's toys in (in their rooms).

I love my laundry baskets Smiley

I use rubbermaid totes as laundry baskets, I use them to store toys, file papers, for laundry, I keep one at the top of the stairs for dirty laundry and one at the bottom for clean to be carried upstairs. I also use them to store books in and to organize items for garage sales. I find that they are cheapest at rite aid or cvs, sometimes on sale for 3-4.00 versus the 8.00 kmart charges. Love my rubbermaid totes! Cheesy

I use my laundry baskets just like Amy does. We have limited space, so although I'd love to keep a pretty basket permanently at the top and bottom of the staircase, we just don't have the room for it. So I just use a laundry basket when cleaning, carry it around downstairs, and then head upstairs with it, putting away things and putting in things that belong downstairs. Then I head back down and once everything is put away, I leave it on top of the washer (which is in the kitchen in a little nook.).

Good ideas girls!  I do the same.  I also use a laundry basket to clean out the car.  With 3 boys and always on the go, my car is always a mess.  I take a basket out with me, fill it, and then I can carry everything in the house at once.

This is really BAD Shocked.... but  a laundry basket would not be big enough to hold all of the garbage and junk collected in my suv and my boys are just 8 months old.  Perhaps twin laundry baskets! HEHE!!!!!!!!! Grin

I have found that my laundry baskets are great pool totes!  They carry our pool toys, towels, a small cooler, and more!

Much like you ladies I use mine for:
Dirty clothes
Clean clothes
Picking up around the house
Gathering and storing toys in the den after the kids are in bed
There is one in the car for toys and I swap it out every few days with the one in the den

Then DD uses it for a doll bed, cat or dog house, stable or what ever else she imagines it is that day.  Normally that involves her dumping the toys out of it and I need to go get another one to gather the new mess in. Roll Eyes
I have several around the house and in the garage for storage.

I use my laundry baskets for:

Dirty Clothes
Clean Clothes
Toy Storage
Garage sale storage and sorting

The problem when you use laundry baskets for things other than laundry, what do you do when the laundry piles up and you have no baskets to use! Cheesy

I only use the rubbermaid totes, and I always keep a few empties in the garage. I even sometimes store some canned and dry food items in them in the garage if I need to. I also have 2 in my van trunk that I use for my files and coupons. It just makes life easier!  Smiley

I just uncovered my laundry baskets...they were still in my room, full of last fall's "outgrowns".  I was miserably preggers and too lazy to put the stuff away.  But now that they're back, they are in use in the bedrooms for, well, laundry.  The boys and DH are actually using them for dirty clothes (wonder of wonders!).  I take them every day or so to the laundry room and sort into the hamper there, and then fill them up with a load or two of clean, then take clean clothes to the bedrooms and put them away and then they're ready for the next smelly socks to hit them!
