Amy,

Although I don't personally consider myself "scammed" by http://www.dataentrypro.com because I bought and purchased this "Work at Home - Data Entry - Typing" program/scheme/scam at $99.00 with the knowledge and understanding that I believed it to be a Scam - Gimmick - Fraud.  I did so so that I could look at and review this scam for my website subscribers.

I've gotten countless emails and so on about these hyped up ads about making $1,000 to $3,000 per month Data Entry and Typing from home, etc...

I spent and paid the $99.00 myself so that I could find out exactly what these hyped ads, schemes and programs were all about.

First of all, absolutely NO JOB EXISTS!  You wouldn't pay Walmart, Target, Home Depot or Menards $99 to apply for a job would you?  Of course not!  No legitimate job offer or company would ever charge you any amount of money to apply - period!  Don't ever, ever, ever and never pay to apply for a job!  It's always a scam!

ALL, I repeat, ALL of the hyped ads you see online telling you that you can earn $300 a day, or $1,000 per week or $5,000 per month or whatever the amounts are, doing simple Data Entry or Typing from home are scams, schemes and gimmicks - period!  Save your money!  Be realistic - these types of jobs don't exist!  Your common sense and intuition already tells you that!

Here's what these scams are all about:  They simply give you their scatterbrained version of using Google Adwords and Clickbank.com's Affiliate Programs in order to make money online.  In order to be successful you have to already know something about internet marketing, affiliate marketing and all about search engines, keywords, etc... and Google Adwords.

If you want to learn how to be successful with Google Adswords, then go to google.com and start learning from them, the pros.  They'll give you all of the correct and proper learning and for FREE!

So, these scamsters are trying to convince you that all's you have to do is data entry - "type in the ads".  They don't tell you the rest.  Further, they don't tell you that you've got to have more money for your Google Adwords account.

Do yourself a favor - go to google.com and click on their Adwords program and start to learn there for yourself.  These scamsters are just trying to earn money off of you by paying them for their B.S. nonsense.

Real and legitimate work at home data entry jobs do exist, but like any other job, you're going to have to apply for it.

Good luck!  Hope this helps!

WONDERFUL post and thank you so much for sharing this information. You may have saved many people hundreds of dollars that they would have wasted on these types of deals.

I once applied to a work-at-home data entry position. It was twenty-five dollars to apply and you sent it along with your application. My husband had been laid off (for almost a year) so I thought I could do this in the evening and work my "real" job during the day.

Within minutes, my application was accepted. I was "more than qualified" for this position. I was so excited to begin.

Guess what the job was? I was to take that same exact ad that I responded to, and then post it all over the internet, to my friends, anyone who might respond and have them send in the money. I then got half of that money and the other person got the other half. My data entry job was basically scamming other people and copy/pasting the information.

I threw the biggest hissy fit, until they refunded my money with threats of contacting the Better Business Bureau.

I got my refund and that is when I decided that I needed to help others avoid the same exact mistake I had made.

DO NOT EVER send money to someone to apply for a job. It is a scam- it is an immediate red flag to you that the company is NOT legitimate!!

Thanks so much for sharing!

I received this email and wanted to share it with you. Many thanks to Vickie for reporting this...

Amy

I do not know if you can put this in the scam section but I was a consultant for Candle Decor and More and also Wrap it Right and several consultants in both companies are having problems.

No response to emails and kits/orders not being received after payment has been made.  I did not place any orders with either company but I know this is happening. I just received an email from a gal that ordered from wrap it right and made the payment by cc . She has not received her order and it has been 6 weeks and the owner of the company will not reply to her emails.

With Candle Decor and More I have been in our back office forum and several gals have posted this month asking where the owner is and where their kits are.
So you might have a section for Red Flags for things like this. It is not known if this is a scam but its a lousey way to run a business.

There is a great web site to check out rumors or questionable email    www.snoops.com
for instance have you heard about a do not call list for cell phones?Huh or about the hundreds of UPS uniforms that were stolen and guys are using them to enter homes??? One is pure fiction one is considered an urban legend. Law enforcement and the gov uses www.snoops.com to check out this type of info

Direct TV are a bunch of scam artists. They went into my personal bank acct and took out nearly 900 bucks. They claimed that they could do that because it was money owed.
1) The acct was in my hubby's name not mine used the card to pay it before though so they figured to just use it again
2) They never got any authorization from me to do that transaction

They proceeded to give me crappy customer service I had 1 woman very rudely tell me not to call back because they will call me when they get ready to refund my money. The others were no help but they did eventually give it back when I got the BBB involved and consumer alerts. So they tried to jerk me around for a while but I was not going to let them get past the 60 day mark. That would have made it harder for me to get my money back and easier for them to keep it.  Please stay away from DIRECT TV.

This thread's great! You're spot on with the people trying to sell glorified versions of how to use adwords and affiliate networks. Don't pay for them, build your website and the networks will help you set it up and google can teach you how to use Adwords!
