Happiness Is...The Family Fair

My dad's company picnic was this weekend. It is something that the kids look forward to every single year. What's not to love? Free food, unlimited turns in the bouncy house, tons of games and activities, belly aches all around, tantrums, sugar highs, and lots of tears near the end. We enjoy it all... until that last hour.

I think more than that though, it is seeing my dad all puffed up, strutting us around like a proud peacock, and showing off his children and grandkids. We do it for that moment every year. Just that moment makes it all worth it for me as a daughter!

What family events do you do every year to make your family proud? Do you have an event or reunion that your family does?

"Anywhere! Whenever we're with my parents and run into someone they know, my mom has to start with our introduction and laundry list of achievements or whatever she's got at the top of her head at the moment which she's proud of. Sometimes I feel bad for these people we meet, because I know they just want to say hi and get on with whatever they were doing! But proud moms & grammies just have to do that. So we humor them, don't we? :-)"

"How fun! My husband's company used to have something like this, but unfortunately it when the way of so many other corporate perks. We get together with my grandparents very regularly, and with our more extended family around the Christmas holidays."
