Thrifty Treasures: Pampered Chef Bread Tubes

Does anyone have one of these? I just picked two of them up for $2 each at our thrift store.

I was wondering what you use yours for? Do you have any recipes to share?

I was so excited to have found them...now what do I use them for?

"Hi Amy! You can bake a loaf of refrigerated bread dough in there and cut the result into 1/4" slices to use for canapes and other appetizers. It would probably make fun little toddler sandwiches. I imagine you can experiment to see just how much dough goes in there, to use dough from your bread machine. I can tell you that a tube of refrigerated dough is perfect, so maybe that will help? I gather from the picture you used you found the Pampered Chef info page about it. That's an awesome thrift store find!!"

"Thanks, Kelly!! I did pull the image from Pampered Chef because I had already thrown them in the dishwasher to give them a good scrub. I hunted on the website and they had some cute ideas on there too, I just was curious what other people did with them. They look like my cup of tea!

My husband couldn't believe I would even recognize something like that. What can I say? I am a Pampered Chef junkie!"

"What a great find! I actually have three of these. They are great for cutting cheese, sandwiches, etc. into shapes. I agree with the refrigerated bread dough idea as well. I like to roll the dough in Italian Seasoning (or whatever you like) before I bake it. It just gives it a bit more flavor. Also, you can flatten the dough and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on it, roll it up and bake cinnamon rolls. Hope this helps!! Enjoy your new bread tubes!"

"Pop a refrigerated loaf of french bread in the tube. Bake at 350 for an hour! So easy, and so yummy! That is one of my favs from my Pampered Chef collection. I've been thinking of buying the other shapes off Ebay. I have a really good Italian Spread recipe from Jill for the bread if you want it!"

I also had a friend offer to photocopy her info about it. I'd be happy to do that for you as well. I'll send it to you."

"You can also make Rice Krispie treats in it by spooning the warm rice krispie/marshmallow mixture into the bread tube and letting it set up. Be sure to spray the tube with non-stick spray first so you can push the cooled mixture out and slice it with a serrated knife."

"My mom recently picked one of these up for me at a garage sale. I haven't used it yet but she said you can also do quick breads in it. I hope you let us know what you make in yours!"

"I made raisin bread dough in the bread maker and baked it in the tube for my daughter's birthday party (tea party theme).
We spread it with cream cheese and sprinkled colored sugar on it, and called it "fairy toast".

I also am planning to try to make salami in it, there was big sale on ground beef last week and I need to use it up! I'll let you know how that goes... but I bet a meatloaf would come out awfully pretty, too."
